Donald Trump Hits Back At San Juan’s ‘Nasty’ Mayor Over Maria Response Criticism

The problem is Trump wanted credit faster than it was deserved, and then wanted the Puerto Rican problem to go away. He didn't understand. He still doesn’t.
It is exactly for that reason we said he was unqualified to be president. And we were right.

The general in charge of the PR recovery disagrees with #45:

The general in charge disagrees with Trump, who just makes sh*t up to feed his base.

Trump slams Puerto Rico: ‘They want everything to be done for them’

When people have no homes, no transportation, no power, no food, no clean water, no money, no medical supplies, no communication ability, yes, they do need things to be done for them.

Trump is a failure of a president and a disgusting bigot.

PS. He golfed last weekend and is golfing this weekend while telling Puerto Ricans to stop being so lazy!

Last comment... Trump has shown himself to be unfit to lead and one of the planet's most despicable people.

But it is what it is folks and the folks supporting Trump are digging their heels deeper and fighting back harder. It won't be a pretty ride nor will much productive occur.

Life will go on. Even after we're gone.

Trump showing America what a heartless POS he is! reporters who are actually in PR reporting that people are helping each other. Trump's racism is disgusting.

No such comments about TX or FL, but they're red states. Puerto Rico (if it were a state) would be Blue. That's the difference.

Charles Blow of the NYTimes:

Donald Trump is a petty, vindictive, racist ignoramus and pathological liar who resonates powerfully with the base of the Republican party for the simple reason that they are, in the main, petty, vindictive ignorami who have been trained by decades of conditioning via Fox News and Hate Radio to mindlessly accept as gospel any comforting bullshit that comes from the mouths of pathological Republican liars.

He's not just deflecting blame onto the mayor of San Juan. He's delegitimizing any and all calls for a more coherent, competent and effective federal response to Maria. Like his delegitimizations of the State Department, the global warming treaty, the judiciary and countless other institutions and actions, his base will eat it up. He thereby further rejects the very function of government--service to the people--as an appropriate (cover the children's ears, Mildred; gonna talk dirty for a minute) collective responsibility of a civil society for those unable to help themselves.

This is hardly the first time he's done this. It won't be the last.

RN, Clearwater, Dervish, and Michael K.,

This is just another example of the fact that DJT is mentally deformed. His feelings were injured when the mayor of San Juan didn't heap praise on his response to the humanitarian disaster in PR, so he attacked her and the suffering victims.

What further proof does anyone need of his lack of human decency and his inability to think of anyone but himself.

Retired Lt. Gen. Honore on CNN earlier: “I have no reaction. The mayor’s living on a cot, and I hope the President has a good day of golf.”

The mayor of San Juan is living in a shelter after her home was destroyed while you have been mostly at your Golf club

Remember when the Goopers lost their minds whenever Obama golfed?

You guys are all a bunch of windbags!

There's no way Trump was golfing last week at his resort or will be doing so this week. Cause he said he wouldn't! He said he would not have time to golf. Besides, golfing during a crisis is what that other guy did the last 8 years.

No sir, you've got it wrong. President Trump is safely ensconced in the White house, the peoples house, laser focused 100% on helping the people of Puerto Rico. All this chatter from you lefties is just a bunch of your left wing political correctness run amok as you attack this incredibly blessed man of such such moral courage.

You're all just mad he is breaking up the Washington Establishment and refuse to see all the good relief work he is personally directing in Puerto Rico.

At least that the gist of a lot of what I read on many of the extremist blogs supporting this presidency.

Dave, I haven't read those blogs today. I'm surprised they're even talking about P.R. They usually whine about how mean people are to their Great and Moral Leader, DJT!

“Such poor leadership ability by the Mayor of San Juan and others in Puerto Rico, who are not able to get their workers to help”.

He went on: “They want everything to be done for them when it should be a community effort. 10,000 Federal workers now on Island doing a fantastic job.”

This is the last straw with this dirtbag.

Lord forbid that his golf weekend be interrupted by people who don't have access to basic necessities.

It should be noted that Gen. Honoré is widely credited with turning around the relief effort for Katrina after "You're doing a heck of a job Brownie" Bush initially sat on his hands so he has credibility.

His callous response to the mayor of San Juan is beyond reproach.

Good write up on the general's response to Lord Dampnut

Absolutely disgusting. Trump might be well advised to reconsider traveling to Puerto Rico He might not get a very friendly reception.

He said he would make America great "again", but his rhetoric on NATO, North Korea, and immigrants have set us on course for decline, while his verbiage about Charlottesville and Puerto Rico are a national disgrace.

He is disgusting and an egomaniac but I don't see where he is a racist or a bigot. I am not in favor of his tax plan and would rather see a Fair Tax which would be.......Fair to all taxpayers. Not replacing obamacare will cost millions insurance coverage which is a shame.

The PR mayor would have made her case better had she have given her diatribe in a empty warehouse not have a backdrop of a warehouse full of supplies. It is not that they don't have the supplies it is they don't have the people to distribute them.
