Trump's America
This is more than disturbing. Where are the decent Republicans? Do they even exist anymore?
Overt anti-Semites have been slowly creeping into Republican politics in the aftermath of President Trump’s successful, populist candidacy, and now one of them has a fighting chance of representing the Republican Party in a Senate race.
The man in question is Patrick Little, an extremist with hardline anti-Semitic views who is backed by David Duke and other far-right extremists. Little will be squaring off in a top-two primary with 10 other Republicans as well as Democrats and independents on June 5 for the chance to oppose veteran Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein.
According to a recent poll, released last week, he very much has a chance of winning the right to face off with the incumbent. A poll conducted by local ABC News affiliates along with the polling company Survey USA, suggested that Little is polling at 18 percent of the vote on the Republican ticket, a full 10 points ahead of his next strongest opponent.
The 84-year-old Feinstein, who first entered office way back in 1992, at the start of Bill Clinton’s first term, remains a solid favorite to win the state—polling at 39 percent.
These are authentic statements from Little that have been fact-checked:
They are authentic quotations. On his account with the social network Gab, Little made the following statement:
I propose a government that makes counter-semitism central to all aims of the state. A government:
1) Of a People, for that people, free from jews
2) That cannot revoke the right to bear arms, such that this people can remain free from jews
3) that forbids all immigration except of biological kin, where no person of jewish origin may live, vacation, or traverse
Little is the third Republican candidate for national office during the 2018 electoral cycle to have expressed openly anti-semitic and racist views.
In March, former American Nazi Party leader Arthur Jones ran unopposed in the GOP primary for Illinois’ Third U.S. Congressional District, and will represent the party in November’s general election.
In Wisconsin’s First U.S. Congressional District, one of the Republicans seeking to replace retiring House leader Paul Ryan in November is Paul Nehlen, who has described himself as “pro-white” and frequently expresses virulently anti-semitic sentiments on social media.
In February 2018, Nehlen was permanently banned from Twitter after posting a racist cartoon in reference to the actor Meghan Markle — whose mother is black — after her engagement to Prince Harry was announced. SOURCE

Thank you very much for this warning, Shaw. When I saw your headline, I feared that Trump was endorsing this guy. I'm not exactly sure what is going on as far as any republican frontrunner. It could well be that republicans don't expect a victory so no serious candidate has been fielded? There is one republican, James P. Bradley who polled at 10% of likely voters according to a poll ran at UC Berkeley.
The SurveyUSA poll which showed the neonazi P. Little at 18% is unique. Most polls don't even register a blip from republican challengers.
See the wikipedia entry for analysis, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Senate_election_in_California,_2018#Declared_2
Scroll down to polling.
I am more interested in democratic challengers to the battleaxe Feinstein. None have gained very much footing yet.
