Trumpublicans eating their own.

Here's what happens when dumb-ass, hoax-believing Trumpublicans ignore how serious COVID-19 is:

The report below explains how a Massachusetts GOP leader went to a White House party, discarded his mask, contracted COVID, almost had to be put on a ventilator, and spread the virus to his loved ones when he returned home from DC.

MAGA!

Massachusetts GOP leader says he likely got covid-19 at a White House Hanukkah party: ‘I’m paying the price

Here are some paranoid comments found on far right Trumpublican blogs still claiming COVID-19 is nothing but a Deep State conspiracy to take away Trumpublicans' freedumbs!

This person believes safe practices to avoid getting and spreading COVID-19 is an oppression of his liberty and freedoms! Selfish willful ignorance is too mild a description of this guys stupidity.

This is the very reason COVID-19 is raging across America -- misguided idiots thinking like this:

1)  We have limited opportunity to express our opposition on a daily basis.

2)  One is to not conform to the best of our abilities.

3)  The virus is real. The use of the virus is an oppression of our liberty and freedoms and most importantly, our rights.

4)  Are you told not to congregate? Congregate!

5)  Are you told to wear a mask which has no proven efficacy? Take it off!

6)  Be willing to be seen not bowing to the oppression.

7)  This will encourage others or bring you scorn or both.

8)  If you let the scorn of others dictate to you, you are not exactly Valley Forge material.

*****************

Got that? Congregate and spread the virus! Do it for your freedumbs! To hell with your fellow Americans!

Take off that mask so you can spread it to your vulnerable relatives and friends! That's REAL freedumb! Freedom to infect and kill your fellow Americans!

I swear that some sort of mental derangement has taken hold of these people. What other explanation is there for anyone to advocate death for their fellow Americans by spreading a lethal disease?

"...Fauci, who accepted Biden’s invitation to play an expanded role in his administration, expressed hope that by 'showing leadership from the top,' Biden could make an impact — comments that appeared to be implicit criticism of President Trump, who has said little publicly about the crisis since Election Day.

'What he’s saying is that let’s take at least 100 days and everybody, every single person, put aside this nonsense of making masks be a political statement or not,' Fauci said of Biden. 'We know what works. We know social distancing works. We know avoiding congregant settings works. For goodness sakes, let’s all do it, and you will see that curve will come down.' ”

****************

IOW, ignore the irrational Trumpers who believe their freedumbs and liberties depend upon making their fellow Americans deadly sick.

thucythucy from D.U.:

I'm old enough to remember how many conservatives blamed the HIV/AIDS epidemic

on "immoral behavior"--whether it was "the gay lifestyle" or IV drug use. (Somehow all the people with hemophilia who died didn't ever register on their radar).

"Personal responsibility!" was their unsympathetic rallying cry.

And yet we have GOP officials--such as the Massachusetts GOP committee leader who contracted Covid after attending a maskless White House party--and nowhere do we hear these same conservatives chastising the personal irresponsibility of their own.

Another big difference between then and now--as soon as it was known how HIV was transmitted leaders in the LGBTQ community rose to the challenge and began a massive public health campaign to combat the virus.

Another major similarity--another GOP administration (Reagan-Bush) chose to ignore the epidemic, leading to thousands upon thousands of deaths that might otherwise have been prevented.

I can't think of a single crisis during my lifetime that wasn't mishandled when the GOP was in power.

Shaw... we see this same dismissal of even wearing a mask to reduce viral spread, viral loads and ultimately, death from Covid across the conservative news sites and blogs.

I'm all for freedom, including freedom of choice as it relates to mask wearing. But, if you get sick, pay for your own bills and don't expect any help from the "socialist" government. Suck it up and when the hospital, labs, doctors and the rest of the medical community demand payment up front, take care of it.

And then, as a price for your freedom, respect the freedom of business owners to bar non mask wearers from entering, just as they do ppl with shoes and shirts.

It is interesting to see cracks in the facade though, even on the Mothership. El Capitan is struggling with one of the First Mates because she's seeing ppl and friends die, and hearing their words, their pleas for help and masks. And she's hearing from her doctors. But apparently that's a little too much logic for some.

It's interesting to notice that the Trump crowd (who don't wear masks) have had over 50 of their staff contract corvid. Hardly any of Biden's staff have contracted corvid, and their crowd are real good about wearing masks.

Freedom and Liberty - to think freely, to speak freely, to register ones concerns openly, to vote faithfully, to attend town council meetings regularly, to go on vacation to your destination of choice, to send your children to their university of choice, to dress as you wish, to choose a job of your choice and qualifications, to select your house and car of choice, to practice your choice of religion, to control your own body and reproductive choices, and the list goes on.

It is the liberal forces that actually are most concerned with protecting and expanding the rights of law abiding citizens, not conservatives or republicans. The days of conservatives thinking about freedoms and liberty responsibly are long gone. Now, for them, it is all about supressing any and all freedoms or liberties that THEY disapprove of and doing everything they can to insure we become less free with fewer liberties. Truth is the trump cultists and trump "conservatives" are the most self centered selfish people on the planet. They DO NOT CARE a whit about anyone, their freedoms or liberty if it conflicts with their narrow myopic views.

America, the result of republican and conservative "leadership", is becoming less free with fewer liberties. trump and his sycophants have, since 11/3/2020, been working almost exclusively to overturn the free, fair, and most secure election in our history. That, in and of itself, ought to be enough to turn every warm blooded patriot's blood to ice. Because when a sitting US president actively encourages and participates in sedition attempts we have come to a very bad place.

The only time a conservative cares about anything is when it affects them personally. If it doesn't affect them, they don't care.

A Republican President wants to see the stimulus payment upped to $2000.00 per person.

The US House of Representatives, by a 275-134 Bipartisan vote, approved upping the stimulus checks to $2000.00 per person.

The US Senate, is showing a vote count of 53 Senators in favor and 47 not in favor, a clear Bipartisan majority supporting increasing the stimulus to $2000.00.

And yet Mitch McConnell will not even bring it up for a vote?

What planet are we living on?

I am honestly past caring if these idiots kill themselves with the disease. The species is better off without them. It's just unfortunate that they're endangering innocent people.

I swear that some sort of mental derangement has taken hold of these people.

This is what happens when people become so committed to a delusional view of reality that it becomes part of their identity and they can't cast it off.

Dave Miller: El Capitan is struggling with one of the First Mates because she's seeing ppl and friends die, and hearing their words, their pleas for help and masks

This bears out what I said in today's post. Right-wingnuts are pretty much immune to logic or data, but seeing people they know get killed and maimed by this virus has a lot more impact. As the pandemic continues to hammer red-state populations because they won't take precautions, this may finally start waking them up. Some of them.

Dave, Infidel753; Mike, and RN

A 41 year old US Representative, newly elected in November, Republican Luke Letlow of Louisiana’s 5th district, has died from complications from COVID-19. He was married with two young children. Forty-one years old.

I’d like to see the Trumper in my post who advocates congregating in crowds and going maskless tell that to Representative-elect Letlow’s wife and two children.

Anonymous. Someone on a far right blog wondered why so many Republicans seem to get sick and even die from COVID compared with fewer Democrats. They are not able to connect the dots between wearing masks and practicing social distancing and lower rates of sickness and death.

They are Trumpers, after all.

During the American Revolution, George Washington worked to contain a smallpox epidemic by isolating anyone suspected of infection and limiting outside contact with his army. In 1776, when the British withdrew from Boston, Washington mandated that only soldiers that had already been infected be allowed into the city.

In 1796, in response to a deadly yellow fever outbreak, Congress passed the first federal quarantine law, which was signed by Washington. It authorized the federal government to help states enforce quarantines as necessary.

The Founders passed An Act Related to Quarantine during the 3rd Congress in 1796, signed by PRESIDENT GEORGE WASHINGTON.

It directed the feds to help states enforce quarantines.

The person who wrote that b.s. about ignoring prohibitions against congregating is either a foreigner who knows nothing about American history, or he's a trouble making selfish anarchist!

Valley Forge? Washington would have kicked that person's ass to the moon!

It's all a hoax. The numbers are being faked. Despite this, "there will be no return to normality after Covid. We are entering a post-human era & will have to invent a new way of life". This is as per a post on Minus FJ's "Farmers Letters" blog. I asked him (comments not blocked on this blog) how this could be possible, given that previously he was predicting that the pandemic would be declared to be over any day -- but he deleted my comment.

I commented again, asking what happened to my previous comment -- he responded that he censored by first comment because I'm pro-censorship.

American history student

Thanks for your info. I did a little research and put your information up as a new post.

As an aside: the folks on that blog always complain that today's students receive a terrible "liberal" education that only teaches them to "hate" America.

However, the person who urged congregating and no mask wearing during a plague is an old-timer. And he apparently knows nothing about American history -- Valley Forge indeed!

Minus is a slippery character. As soon as you confront his incorrect suppositions, he changes them, and throws in some tiresome pedantry to make himself look "learned" and prop up his spurious arguments.

As I've repeated in the past, Minus has BEEN WRONG ON EVERYTHING he's predicted, from his prediction that Trump would win, to his conspiracy theories about Trump's DoJ putting Hillary, President Obama, and Joe Biden on trial and sent to jail.

His ideas are all homegrown fevered conspiracies fantasies. IOW, worthless.

Luke Letlow’s cause of death was the Trump virus. His children would still have a father if wearing a mask hadn’t been politicized and science hadn’t been denied. It’s almost as tragic as the other 340,000 #COVID19 deaths this administration has totally ignored.
