Those right wing bloggers and news sites complaining about Trump's second impeachment?

This is what they're defending and supporting:

Insurrectionist mobs beating and killing a D.C. cop

This guy carrying a traitorous flag through the halls of the Capitol building (he and his son have been arrested.)

This guy: Richard Barnett, 60, of Gravette, Arkansas had a stun gun, so is now charged with entering a restricted building without lawful authority while carrying a dangerous weapon. That charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.

This guy:

....................................

The more we learn, the less this looks like a coup bound to fail, and the more it looks like plain luck that all of our legislators and our vice-president were not murdered.

The white supremacist terrorist and Trump supporter, Peter Stager of Arkansas, who beat a cop with the American flag, is arrested:

"To Trump’s cult “Blue Lives Matter” is meaningless. Obviously, so is the American Flag, the Capitol, and the rule of law. An Arkansas man accused of beating a police officer with a pole flying a U.S. flag during last week’s riot at the U.S. Capitol has been arrested. In an arrest affidavit filed Thursday in federal court in Washington, an FBI agent said Peter Francis Stager is shown in video and photographs striking a prone police officer repeatedly with the flagpole after rioters dragged the officer down the Capitol’s west stairs.

The affidavit says confidential informants had recognized Stager in riot video and photographs and alerted authorities, who have charged Stager with interfering with law enforcement officers during a civil disorder. A spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney’s office in Little Rock, Arkansas, confirmed Stager was in custody Thursday. No attorney was listed for Stager in court records. " --Lee Arnold, via AP News

This guy:

Dominic ‘Spazzo’ Pezzola. Ex military. Was a central organizing figure inside the Capitol. He broke through windows with police shields he presumably stole. Has just been arrested. An FBI informant said he aimed to kill VP Mike Pence if got a chance. --Shaun King

A Capitol Police officer was forced to dodge a chair hurled at him while he was trying to bring down a security door as rioters flooded into the Capitol. But the pro-Trump rioters stopped the door from locking into place, allowing them to continue rushing in.

As the officer turned to move away from the scene, a voice can be heard shouting “You’re scared now, motherfucker.”

When the history is written in books will it say our Congress did nothing to Trump? He got impeached, big deal, the Senate won't convict. He should be in jail. Maybe New York will put him in jail.

Is that blood on the floor around his head in the first photo?

Hideous. Mob violence is a horror.

Dave Miller said...

Let this sink in.

Conservatives, the right, Republicans, supporters of President Trump have made it clear... violence is how they believe they should maintain power in America. Senator Lindsey Graham, in explaining his rationale for voting against impeachment cited a fear of violence. From rightwing protestors supporting Donald Trump.

What we have now is a Republican Party afraid of the mob of insurrectionists they themselves created. A violent, deadly mob. A mob that beat a Federal agent with the American flag. A mob that came to Washington DC prepared to kill people. A Conservative, rightwing, Republican insurrectionist mob.

When Republicans are facing death threats for voting for impeachment, those threats are not coming from deranged libtards, rather, those threats are coming from loyal, dedicated, energized and enthusiastic reliable Republican voters.

All in service to a series of lies that elected GOP leaders continue to spout to their base, again, out of fear for their jobs and their lives.

And us lefties are called the morons.

All this stuff on your blog , only goes to show that it was Antiva who was responsible for the raid and NOT the Trump supporters.

Those right wing bloggers and news sites complaining about Trump's second impeachment?

They say we should not impeach Trump, not because he isn't guilty, but because the rightwing mob will react, bring violence, and maybe kill people.

How's that for circular reasoning?

We can't do this because our supporters will be violent.

Dave,

“We’ve got to get rid of the weak congresspeople, the ones that aren’t any good, the Liz Cheneys of the world, we got to get rid of them,” said President Trump. He urged his minions to march down Pennsylvania Avenue to the place where Congress was meeting to certify the election he lost: “Because you’ll never take back our country with weakness. You have to show strength and you have to be strong.”

[skip]

"When a mob incited by the president ransacked the Capitol, killing one policeman and pummeling others, it also tore down a veil. Suddenly, all but the most fanatical partisans admitted that Trump was exactly who his fiercest critics have always said he was." --Michelle Goldberg, NYTimes

I've checked out the usual far right blogs, and as I expected, they're not at all appalled at what happened at the Capitol last week. I've read nothing that condemns it. Nothing about a policeman being beaten to death; nothing about another being beaten with an American flag; nothing about the mobs leaving urine and feces behind amid all the destruction and theft of property. Nothing about a POTUS inciting insurrection against his own government.

Nothing.

And that tells me everything.

I don't know how to live in a country with people like that, with people that fanatical. They've been so marinated in Trumpism that they either refuse or are unable to see the evil that has taken over the Republican/Trumpublican Party through the abetment of Donald Trump. His dishonesty, venality, sleaze, and constant lying has infected everything and everyone in that party. As I've said elsewhere, the stink will stay with them and it for years.

The GOP has been weakened, but no one knows how badly at this time. IMO, it should cease to exist, and the principled conservatives should re-organize under a different name and exclude the people like the turncoats currently still loyal to Trump.

This is from VOX:

"After last week’s assault on the US Capitol by pro-Trump rioters, there have been lots of calls from Republicans for “unity” and “reconciliation.”

The pleas for unity, however well-intentioned, obscure a crucial fact: This is not a bipartisan crisis. The Republican Party welcomed Trump into their ranks and indulged and excused him for four years. They nurtured the movement that led to the attack on the Capitol.

Even after the Capitol was violently sacked, even after at least five people were killed, a poll showed that 45 percent of Republicans support the invasion. That means millions upon millions of Americans see no problem in disrupting the peaceful transfer of power, a bedrock of constitutional democracy. And mere hours after the crisis at the Capitol, nearly 150 Republican lawmakers formally objected to the results of the 2020 election anyway.

So that’s where we are."

45%! And you can bet that includes the folks at Geeez and AOW.

Shaw Kenawe said...

OMG!

"Andy Borowitz

A majority of Republicans want Trump to be the nominee in 2024. I wonder which part of his legacy they’re most impressed by: the 4000 deaths per day or his rioters shitting inside the Capitol?"

skudrunner said...

Wow talk about fake news. I doubt the majority of republicans want trump to run in 2024. I assume you have heard china is having a resurgence of covid and it must be trumps fault. As a government can do no wrong person what is your opinion on how they are handling the trump vaccine roll out. I do have several retired friends who are excited about receiving their $2000 stimulus checks. According to the Rev the government can do means testing to see who gets the checks. It is just great to see taxpayer money being handed out but what the hell, our grandchildren will pay the bill not us.

With the talk of violence and covid why don;t they hold the inauguration virtual instead of having a huge spreader event.

Dave Miller said...

Skud, in his daily attempt to speak ill of Obama, Clinton or biden asks the following. If you can understand it...

As a government can do no wrong person [maybe a typo??] what is your opinion on how they are handling the trump vaccine roll out.

Skud, are you willfully ignorant?

Of course every liberal here will concede that government makes mistakes. And the vaccine rollout, by the, wait for it, Trump Admin has been horrendous. As was his plan for contact tracing, as was his plans for testing, etc.

As for the stimulus checks, I believe now they are slated to be $1400.00, which added to the $600.00 already approved, would equal the $2000.00 per taxpayer that again, wait for it, President Trump demanded. And yes, if Congress wants, I think they can easily means test this... say, anyone currently making less that 50K a year, 100K for a married couple.

And... as for your worry about the inauguration, we thank you for your concern. You can be sure the great majority of it will in fact be virtual. But we need Biden to publicly be sworn in so the crazies on the right, cannot claim it was not done.

But maybe you could answer a couple of questions...

Why are Republicans worried about violence from essentially right wing Republicans? And is the threat of violence, from other Republicans, a good reason for Republicans not to impeach a president who has encouraged the very people committing that violence?

Because that's what Republican US Senators are saying in their calls for unity. That impeachment will cause violence. Violence from the right.

You can't make up this circular thinking...

Shaw Kenawe said...

skudrunner: "Wow talk about fake news. I doubt the majority of republicans want trump to run in 2024."

lIt's still Trump's party.

Oh yes they would. Trump still has the support of a majority of the Republicans --although I hesitate to call that party the "Republican Party" anymore, since it's really the Party of Seditionists and Traitors to America.

This blogpost isn't about China and COVID; nor is it about the stimulus checks; nor any of what you posted.

If a directly incited violent attack on the Capitol with Congress in session, resulting in deaths, injuries, damage to federal property, and death threats to elected officials is not traitorous criminal behavior, then what the hell is?

I challenge anyone to scour their memories and their history resources to come up with an action by a sitting POTUS which is as criminal as this.

You. Won't. Find. One.

So it comes down to the question of whether we are or are not a country of laws.

If Barack Obama had done this, what action would everyone be demanding?

Obama was the only elected official I ever volunteered to campaign for, but if he had done what Trump did, I would be demanding his immediate removal from office.

If we want the country to heal, we must remove the diseased tissue first. In Nazi Germany it was terminating the Nazi Party.

In the US in 2021 it has to be cutting the head off Trumpism, and I see no better way to do that than prosecuting Trump himself to the full extent of the law for the seditious conspiracy and incitement of insurrection that we all witnessed in real time.

Any Republicans with objections can just stick their heads back up their butts until the honest half of the country is done with the excision.

Shaw Kenawe said...

The link in the above comment from me is broken. Try THIS.

Shaw Kenawe said...

SKUD, the fact that you don't believe that the Republican Party still supports Trump and even would support him for president in 2024 shows me that you live in a bubble, listening only to what you agree with.

The Republican Party still embraces a man who encouraged sedition against the United States of America, who encouraged his people the ones he said "I love you" to, to murder the vice president and speaker of the house.

And you won't address that.

Why?

Because nothing, absolutely nothing could match the utter devastation this country has seen under a businessman who knows nothing about running a large organization, let alone a government. hundreds of thousands of dead Americans, a president who has never shown empathy to their families or our nation, a botched vaccine roll out, attacks on peaceful protestors by federal troops, dead federal agents, beaten to death by his supporters and plots across America to kill governors, senators, congressmen and others, from right wing, conservative, Trump supporting insurrectionist mobs.

Pentagon won’t hold traditional Armed Forces Farewell for Trump
JANUARY 15, 2021

Earlier today, CNN revealed that the treasonous, insurrection-inciting individual who we for some reason are still referring to as President of the United States is hoping for a big military-style sendoff when he leaves office. Trump, who has never served and who has demeaned and insulted our military servicemen and women time and time again, has long fancied himself as a strong commander-in-chief. Unfortunately for him, the days of his military LARPing are almost over.

Defense One reports that far from throwing Trump an extravagant, North Korea-style military event the Department of Defense will break tradition by not throwing an Armed Forces Farewell for him. Two senior Pentagon officials revealed to Defense One that none is being planned. It’s unclear if the decision stems from a reluctance from the DOD or a lack of interest on the part of President Trump.

Les Carpenter said...

His live action role playing (LARP) surely is NOT desrving of a conventional semd-off or anything else. After his disasterous term, his sedition and incitement of insurrection the SOB deserves to be placed on a boat, restrained, and launched out to sea. AFTER THE BOAT IS SET AFIRE.

I apologize for my honesty. But the bastard desrves the misery he has inflicted upon this nation.

Dave Miller said...

Shaw... let's also note that it has been reported that Trump wants to leave early to avoid having to ask President Elect, or President Biden for the always afforded custom of a final flight on Air Force One as an Ex President leaves office.

A request which of course, we know Biden, a truly good guy, would grant.

Such a petty man Trump is...

Dave Miller said...

Re the letter from the American Thinker... based on the Dominion billion with a "B" lawsuit, you can expect a few other players in the right wing conspiracy theory universe pretty soon too.

Too bad we can't get that kind of statement from most of the GOP Caucus in Congress...

Dervish Sanders said...

But Shaw, the police officer wasn't beaten. As per Minus FJ, he went home and died from a pre-existing medical condition. LARPing patriots wouldn't kill a police officer.

Re rightwing violence, as per Malcolm Nance (a few days ago on the Stephanie Miller show) what we might expect next is a MAGA insurgency (similar to what we saw in Iraq after the US invasion and installation of a new government). Which would involve ongoing violence and MAGA terrorist attacks.

Re the police officer who was beaten to death -- it didn't happen. As per Minus FJ, the officer collapsed at home and died due to a pre-existing medical condition. LARPing patriots wouldn't kill a police officer.

Re the American Thinker, (I suspect) the claim will be that they were intimidated by the Dominion lawsuit. Thus they are issuing the retraction even though their previous reporting was "true". Dominion totally "stole" the election for Joe Biden.

Re the vaccine running out -- BARE SHELVES (what Dotard falsely criticized the Obama administration for). Another "warp speed" "success". "Thank you" predisent Dotard!

Dervish Sanders said...

Watching MSNBC now and they're saying (re the planned attacks on all 50 state capitols), Dotard WANTS this to happen. Because he will then enact martial law. The "My Pillow" guy met with Dotard recently (and as per a photo someone snapped of notes he was carrying) he urged Dotard to enact martial law. We're not out of the woods yet.

Quote: Lindell is holding the notes with a phone in one hand and a coffee cup in the other hand, bending the notes face open so that some sentences are legible. One of those phrases reads "Insurrection Act now as a result of the assault on the… martial law if necessary upon the first hint of any…", ... Another note reads,"… foreign interference in the election trigger [illegible] powers. Make clear this is China/Iran".

Shaw Kenawe said...

Derv This is where Trump has taken the United States: An insurrection against his own government which threatened to assassinate his own vice president and the Speaker of the House, and accepting advice on how to hold onto power from a pillow salesman.

Dear Gawd!

Shaw Kenawe said...

Derv, Minus FJ has now become his own parody of a conspiracy-crazed Trump cultist.

You have to read everything he writes by adding "And I lost my mind" after each sentence for anything to make sense.

For example, Minus FJ wrote: "The DC cop went home and died from a pre-existing medical condition." AND I LOST MY MIND.

When one does this to everything he writes, everything makes sense!

As for your remark on the certain failure if government takes on the job of vaccines, the US Government took on the task of winning WWII, and that turned out fine. It’s Reagan who told Americans to distrust their own government. And here we are!
