General John Kelly: "He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law."

For the rest of my days...

I will NEVER understand why Trump continues to lie about this when the governors from all the states affected by Helene and the people themselves who live in the areas that were devastated by Helene ALL SAY THAT FEMA AND THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION HAS ABSOLUTELY AND UNEQUIVOCALLY BEEN RESPONSIVE IN EVERY WAY THOSE PEOPLE NEED!

The only explanation is that Donald Trump is truly evil, or he's mentally deteriorating before our eyes and actually believes his lies.

The people who continue to support Trump are complicit in the damage he is doing to our country.

Why give a moment of time trying to understand the incomprehensible. There is no hope of ever understanding the narcissistic mind of DJT.

He has perhaps the most evil ego in the nation.

Geez Shaw... where did you find all those RINO Liars?

Trump seems to have the power to suck the intelligence and conscience out of his cult members. Or worse, they willingly surrender decency, judgement, compassion and the ability to reason to cling to the dark side of their nature that resonates with Trump's lies, racism, and hate.
Or in most cases they never had the decency, judgement, compassion and the ability to reason to lose.

Because he knows he can get away with it.

Les, Dave M., Dave D., Sam,

Trump's supporters know he's a liar, and yet they ignore that fact, and some even believe his stupid lies. What happened to these people?

What happened to these people?
Nature and nurture.
Mental and moral deficiency. Racism. Emotionally malleable. Absence of intellectual curiosity.
As noted:
They never had the decency, judgement, compassion and the ability to reason. They've been there all along, waiting for their Fuhrer.
Again I refer to their basic nature. The authoritarian personality.

Sadly, you are correct, Dave. In any given population worldwide, there will always be those who crave authoritarians to rule over them. Some countries cannot function without authoritarian rule.

From a friend of mine who lives on the east coast of Florida and posted on fb:

"Disgusting reports of misinformation and conspiracy theories interfering with relief efforts in NC and most of it comes from the Trump. Suggestions that a militia is needed to attack FEMA, that there are insufficient funds because Harris is giving it to illegals are just part of the problem. The entire problem is the traitor Trump and his barbarian, America hating horde. The people out there working to save lives and restore infrastructure are heroes. Trumpers are the enemy. Treat them accordingly."

Treating Trumpers and MAGA as the enemy essentially puts non MAGA individuals in the same class as MAGA. HATERS.

The mentality that creates enemies IS part of the problem. Not part of any solution.

Les,
Yes, it's counter productive for Americans to call other Americans the enemy, or even traitors. Sadly, anxiety and anger are surging in these final few weeks before the possible election, or another coup, of a dictator.

"Enemy" is a loaded term to indicate dissension, opposition. It typically means a mortal foe, and is strongly connected to hate, war, and killing.

But enemies are real.

Enemies of equality, truth, and democracy exist within our country. Trump and his cronies are those enemies. His duped voters are not the same threat level.

Enemies of our country, like Putin, exist without...and now even within, with far Right American media mouthpieces on the take from Russia.

We should know them, understand them, but realize hating them just makes more enemies and empowers them over our emotions.

We also understand that we are hated for telling the truth. What they do and say angers me. But hating them gives them a power over me. Not hating them is my power, and my emotional balance.

I can even pity some them and love some them, as I do a nephew and niece.
