JUST TO BE CLEAR: THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED IN AMERICA.

These actions are those of an authoritarian regime, led by a vindictive, witless malignant narcissist.

Trump has said he admires Kim Jong Un's strangle-hold on his country and people, and his actions against his American political rivals prove this.

"In the wake of Trump’s summit with Kim in Singapore earlier this week, the president has called Kim “talented” and a “funny guy” with a “great personality” – comments that have sparked a backlash because of the atrocities Kim is accused of carrying out on his own people, including starvation and widespread imprisonment."

Trump has ordered an investigation into Biden’s presidency, targeting his cognitive fitness and use of an autopen.

"The probe into a former political rival is highly unusual in U.S. history and raises concerns over legal system politicization and authoritarian drift.

Republican Representative James Comer: "Another great thing about Kamala Harris not running for governor—she’s going to have more time to come before the House Oversight Committee and testify about Biden’s cognitive decline. The odds of Kamala Harris getting a subpoena are very high"

Trump says Obama committed treason. This is Alice in Wonderland-style justice

WHY DOES HE LIE ABOUT EASILY DEBUNKED CLAIMS? ANYONE?

Republicans Against Trumpism:

‬"Trump lies again about gas prices: “We actually had three states, four states where it’s down to $1.99.”

That’s a blatant lie.

No state has gas prices anywhere near $1.99."

************************

Can anyone explain to me why Trump keeps repeating this lie?

Why would anyone believe ANYTHING coming out of Trump's lying mouth OR his administration?

I don't. I believe nothing he says until it is verifiable; therefore, I assume everything he claims is a lie, including his denials about Epstein and Maxwell.

"Trump's claim is false." IOW, it's a lie. And he's repeated this lie numerous times, so it isn't "misspeaking."

He must believe his supporters are dumb as rocks. Why else would he continue to lie so boldly?

PS.  I believe this guy:

Powell: "Increased tariffs are pushing up prices in some categories of goods. Near-term measures of inflation expectations have moved up on balance over the course of this year on news about tariffs."

Here's another lying lie from the liar, Trump:

Meidas Touch:  "FORD’S PROFIT WIPED OUT BY TARIFFS

Ford reports a net loss of $29 million last quarter, compared with $1.8 billion in net income a year ago, after being hit by more than $800 million from Trump’s tariffs."

Reports are that Donald Trump is considering...

pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell, the woman who procured little girls for her boyfriend, Jeffrey Epstein, and his powerful rich friends to rape.

When Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison for her crimes of trafficking and raping little girls, Trump "wished her well." He wished a child procurer and rapist well, while calling Kamala Harris, a woman who prosecuted criminals, a "nasty" and a "stupid" woman.

Ghislaine Maxwell, who procured children for Epstein to rape? Trump. Wished. Her. Well! That's the man that MAGA elected and admires.

Epstein accuser Maria Farmer on Ghislaine Maxwell: “I’ve never met a more predatory, terrifying human being in my entire life. She’s a very dangerous person. The woman is not a victim, she’s a victimizer.”

YOUR SUNDAY MOMENT OF SCOTLAND!

EDINBURGH, Scotland (AP) — President Donald Trump played golf Saturday at his course on Scotland’s coast while protesters around the country took to the streets to decry his visit and accuse United Kingdom leaders of pandering to the American.

"Hundreds of demonstrators gathered on the cobblestone and tree-lined street in front of the U.S. Consulate about 100 miles (160 kilometers) away in Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital. Speakers told the crowd that Trump was not welcome and criticized British Prime Minister Keir Starmer for striking a recent trade deal to avoid stiff U.S. tariffs on goods imported from the U.K.

Protests were planned in other cities as environmental activists, opponents of Israel’s war with Hamas in Gaza and pro-Ukraine groups loosely formed a 'Stop Trump Coalition.' Anita Bhadani, an organizer, said the protests were “kind of like a carnival of resistance.”

June Osbourne, 52, a photographer and photo historian from Edinburgh wore a red cloak and white hood, recalling “The Handmaid’s Tale.” Osbourne held up picture of Trump with 'Resist' stamped over his face.

'I think there are far too many countries that are feeling the pressure of Trump and that they feel that they have to accept him and we should not accept him here,” Osbourne said. The dual-U.S.-British citizen said the Republican president was “the worst thing that has happened to the world, the U.S., in decades.' ”

SATURDAY NIGHT MUSIC

Political Corruption by The Resistance:

AMERICA, (and I'm looking at you Evangelical Christians) THIS IS YOUR PRESIDENT:

Mark Epstein on CNN reported that his brother, Jeffrey, asked Donald how come he slept with so many married women, and Trump answered, "Because it's wrong."

\

"Lawrence O'Donnell is reminding everyone tonight that Ghislaine Maxwell not only procured children for Jeffrey Epstein to rape, she raped these children, as well. Gislaine Maxwell is a pedophile who lied under oath, and yet Trump thinks he can use this pedophile perjurer to exonerate himself. This is how desperate Trump has become. He knows what is in the Epstein files is an existential threat to his presidency. The truth is, Epstein, Maxwell, and Trump are all monsters." --Bill Madden

Trump’s cratering in the polls continues

The American people don’t like Trump, nor his policies!

The numbers are worse than or as bad as his first miserable term in office.

Apparently, Americans don’t like convicted felons and sexual assaulters who partied with child rapists as their POTUS after all.

Glad to see America waking up.

Crushing new Gallup numbers:

Overall approval: 37%
On immigration: 38%
On economy: 37%
On trade: 36%
Federal budget: 29%

Overall approval among independents: 29%

The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that Attorney General Pam Bondi told Trump in May that his name appeared multiple times in Department of Justice documents about Epstein, citing senior Administration officials.

Heather Cox Richardson:

July 23, 2025 (Wednesday)

This morning, President Donald J. Trump told Republican members of Congress that his popularity is rising and that talk about the Epstein files is a distraction from what he insists is the real story: that former president Barack Obama cheated in the 2016 election. Trump insisted the cameramen cut their cameras when he made that accusation, although there was no break in the recording. He told the congressmembers: “[Y]ou should mention that every time they give you a question that's not appropriate, just say, ‘Oh, by the way, Obama cheated on the election.’”

At a press briefing today, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt pushed this story, insisting that Democrats led by Obama had tried to sabotage Trump’s first administration and had done “grave material harm to our republic.” She called it “one of the greatest political scandals in American history.”

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard followed Leavitt to talk about today’s release of a report drafted in 2020 by Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee to push back on the idea that Russia preferred for Trump, rather than Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, to win the 2016 election.

Despite her claims that it is a damning bombshell, the material in the newly released report in fact does not challenge the conclusion of the U.S. intelligence agencies, the Mueller report, and the Senate Intelligence Committee that Russia preferred a Trump presidency to a Clinton presidency and worked to get Trump elected in part by attacking Clinton and spreading lies about her health.

What the report did do was deliver red meat to the MAGA base by spreading the same sorts of rumors about Clinton the Russians spread in 2016.

Gabbard compounded that effort at the White House press conference by reading material in the report as if it were fact, saying that Russia had “high-level [Democratic National Committee] e-mails that detailed evidence of Hillary's ‘psycho emotional problems, uncontrolled fits of anger, aggression, and cheerfulness.’ And that then-secretary Clinton was allegedly on a daily regimen of heavy tranquilizers,” along with a number of other charges that Clinton had broken the law. Gabbard did not mention that these allegations were in fact identified in the report as material prepared by Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Services.

Just to be clear: The director of national intelligence for the United States of America is making allegations against a former U.S. presidential candidate based on material from Russia’s intelligence services.

This seems to be another unforced error, reminding Americans of another story the administration would prefer they forget, since opponents of Gabbard’s nomination for her post noted that she has a long history of repeating Russian propaganda. While Trump seems determined to reach back to the rhetoric that got him elected in 2016, it’s hard to see that as a powerful distraction from the Epstein story, since Americans have now had eight years to contemplate the many times Trump has deferred to Russian president Vladimir Putin and weakened Ukraine’s ability to fight back against Russia’s incursions. And claims about the health of a losing presidential candidate from nine years ago seem pretty weak sauce, especially since today she seems far more stable than Trump.

In any case, the distractions seemed to be for naught, since Sadie Gurman, Annie Linskey, Josh Dawsey, and Alex Leary of the Wall Street Journal dropped a story just after 3:00 this afternoon, reporting that Attorney General Pam Bondi and her deputy informed Trump in May that his name appeared “multiple times” in the Epstein files. They told him they did not plan to release any more documents from the investigation because the files contained both the personal information of victims and child pornography.

Ohio’s David Pepper noted that this timing checks out with the feud between Trump and billionaire Elon Musk, who tweeted on June 5: “Time to drop the really big bomb: [Trump] is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” Musk followed that tweet with another: “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.”

While that “sort of felt like old news,” Pepper wrote, “for the White House, that was Musk revealing something that had only recently been confirmed (and that clearly had hopes to bury). So it was a far more brutal tweet than we realized at the time. And the reason why Musk took it down two days later.”

The Department of Justice set off the current firestorm on July 7 when it announced it would not release any more information from the Epstein files. When an ABC News reporter asked Trump on July 15 what Bondi had told Trump about the review, he denied any knowledge that he was in the files. The reporter asked, "specifically, did she tell you at all that your name appeared in the files?" and he responded, “No, no, she's—she's given us just a very quick briefing." Then he claimed the files were created by Democrats.

House speaker Mike Johnson told reporters today that the House didn’t need to do anything to release the Epstein files because the administration was “already doing everything within their power to release them,” and indeed, the Trump administration made a show of saying it would ask the courts to unseal the transcripts of the Epstein grand jury. But legal analysts say those records would cover only Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted of grooming victims for Epstein. In any case, a federal judge denied that request today after the government attorneys did not submit an argument that met the requirements for unsealing the evidence.

Today, under pressure from Democrats, the House Oversight Committee voted to subpoena Maxwell. The Department of Justice also wants to talk to Maxwell, sending Trump’s former personal lawyer Todd Blanche, the deputy attorney general, to talk with Maxwell’s lawyer, who appears to be his personal friend. Alan Feuer of the New York Times notes the job fell to Blanche after the department fired Maurene Comey, the prosecutor of both the Epstein and Maxwell cases, last week. Maxwell is appealing her conviction, giving her incentive to say what the president wants to hear.

The Democrats on a subcommittee of the House Oversight Committee, supported by three Republicans, also voted to subpoena the Justice Department for its files on Epstein, although writing the subpoena will take negotiation. “If the Republican Party, if our colleagues on this committee don’t join us in this vote, then what they’re essentially doing is joining President Donald Trump in complicity,” Representative Summer Lee (D-PA), who introduced the subpoena motion, told reporters.

It does not seem likely the Epstein story is going away anytime soon.

Glee Violet:

"The Pardon Watch starts now"

Analysts smell 'witness tampering' as Trump DOJ meets with and interviews Ghislaine Maxwell over Epstein. (Raw Story)

"Trump's Justice Department played a new card in the exploding Jeffrey Epstein case scandal on Tuesday morning, with Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche both announcing they would be questioning Ghislaine Maxwell.

"Justice demands courage," Blanche wrote in his announcement on X, adding, "I intend to meet with [Maxwell] soon. No one is above the law — and no lead is off-limits."

[*gag*]

"But the timing of the announcement, coupled with longstanding knowledge that Trump himself used to be friends with Epstein, has spurred a more sinister theory from some political and legal observers on social media: that administration officials are moving to secure Maxwell's silence, or maybe even offer her a presidential pardon, something Trump biographer Michael Wolff alleged he has considered in the past.

"Now the Trump DOJ is rushing to meet with Ghislaine Maxwell to try to find out what she knows. Not suspicious [at] all," wrote the liberal news and podcasting network Meidas Touch.

"Ghislaine Maxwell Pardon Watch starts now," wrote Bulwark reporter Will Sommer.

"They are going to pardon Ghislaine Maxwell in exchange for her silence on what she knows about Trump and Jeffrey Epstein," wrote New York health care activist Melanie D'Arrigo. "The coverup will continue, and the Trump administration will rewrite the entire official story, release it, and treat it as fact. Pay attention."

"It is a near certainty that what the Deputy AG is planning to do in this meeting with Ghislaine Maxwell would best be described as witness tampering," wrote former federal prosecutor and district court clerk Elizabeth de la Vega.

SATURDAY NIGHT MUSIC

R.I.P., Connie Francis:

Glee Violette:

BREAKING - Jeffrey Epstein's partner, Ghislaine Maxwell, wants her conviction overturned.

Trump's Attorney General Pam Bondi says there was NO client list, NO files, so therefore, NO crime. And Ghislaine says, "Cool. So why am I being locked up for 20 years?"
NOT SO FAST, says Bondi - and her Department of Justice is now telling the Trump appointees on the Supreme Court to slap this down. NOW.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Newsweek reports that In April, Maxwell submitted a plea to the Supreme Court to overturn her conviction. She said she was covered by a non-prosecution agreement made between between JEFFREY EPSTEIN and the U.S. government in 2007 regarding his OTHER co-conspirators.
But the DOJ argued in a new filing that Maxwell was not a party to that agreement. Even though she was convicted for BEING a co-conspirator.
Apparently, to the DOJ, the term "co-conspirator" only applies to the pedophile rapists on the "Client List" - the one that no longer exists - excuse me, NEVER existed.
The filing by Bondi's DOJ reads "This systematic review revealed no incriminating 'client list.' There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions. We did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
So Maxwell's lawyer, David Oscar Markus, is trying a new tactic.
Some might call it flattery. Some might call it VERY carefully worded extortion.
"I'd be surprised if President Trump knew his lawyers were asking the Supreme Court to let the government break a deal," Markus said, adding: "He's the ultimate dealmaker."
"I'm sure he'd agree that when the United States gives its word, it should keep it," he said. "With all the talk about who's being prosecuted and who isn't, it's especially unfair that Ghislaine Maxwell remains in prison based on a promise the government made and broke."
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Meanwhile, an anonymous source speaking to the Daily Mail says that Maxwell has expressed a willingness to testify before Congress about her experiences.
REALLY? BRING IT ON, says Roger Stone, the man Trump credits as his mentor and teacher (and whom he pardoned for pecadilloes of his own, 7 felony counts of obstruction, witness tampering, and lying to Congress, which spared him from a 40 month prison sentence.)
Stone expressed a threat of his own when he heard this.
"Personally, I like the news that Epstein's pimp Maxwell is ready to testify before Congress. Bill and Hillary [the Clintons] are going to be very embarrassed. She has nothing on Trump."
Hold on Roger. Pam Bondi says the Epstein Files don't even EXIST.
And aren't you LISTENING to your boy Donald? He says the Epstein Files DO exist, but that Hillary WROTE them. Of course, that begs the question, WHY would she put her husband Bill in it, if she WROTE it?
You people really need to get your stories straight.
And NEWS FLASH, Roger. Decent people do not approve of pedophile rapists. No matter WHO they are. They want to see even a PRESIDENT go to jail. It does not matter if he is DEMOCRAT or REPUBLICAN.
But then, NONE of you have a clue about what a decent person thinks, do you?

Trump's Epstein Scandal is Not Going Away

'Fear': Epstein prosecutor fired by Trump issues warning letter to ex-colleagues

Trump Fumes at Epstein Mess as Polls Reveal Big GOP Revolt

"President Donald Trump is in an absolute fury over his inability to stop MAGA from talking about the Jeffrey Epstein files. He unleashed a furious, manic tirade on Truth Social over it, and then rambled bizarrely about it to reporters for over a minute straight. None of it’s working. Striking new polls—one from Quinnipiac and the other from CNN—show wide public dissatisfaction with the whole Epstein fiasco. Critically, both polls show large chunks of Republicans are also unhappy about it, suggesting his efforts to shut this down aren’t working. But something deeper is going on here. Trump is also revealing a level of contempt for MAGA that’s unusual even for him. His anger seems primarily rooted in his inability to simply command them to think whatever he tells them to think."

TRUMP COULDN'T REMEMBER THAT HE APPOINTED JEROME POWELL TO HEAD THE FED

Trump was accused of ‘slowly losing it’ as latest signs of ‘dementia’ unravel sparking health worries

"The president forgot names, showed confusion over who was with him at the event, and appeared to fabricate stories that could not possibly be true.

Donald Trump claimed his uncle had taught the future Unabomber at MIT, despite the domestic terrorist never having attended the university.

President Donald Trump's cognitive decline was called back into question during a rambling speech in Pittsburgh Tuesday, during which he forgot names and told stories that were very unlikely to be true.

At one point, however, he claimed that his uncle, a physicist who helped create radar systems during World War II, taught future "Unabomber" terrorist Theodore Kaczynski at MIT, none of which had actually happened.

Kaczynski never attended MIT, but rather received degrees from Harvard and the University of Michigan. Even if John Trump had once crossed paths with Kaczynski, he could not have known he would commit 16 bomb attacks between 1971 and 1995, as John Trump died in 1985, years before he was identified as the Unabomber.

He also forgot who from his team had come with him on the trip to Pittsburgh, mistakenly gesturing to Representative for Pennsylvania's 9th Congressional District Dan Meuser, who was not present at the event. “I want to introduce Dan Meuser. Dan Meuser is here,” Trump said. “Where’s Dan?”

During his speech, Trump...also claimed that he had secured $16 trillion in investments in the economy, despite the U.S. economy totally just under $30 trillion.”

And finally, a shocking example of his mental decline:

"...during a rant in which he brutally criticizes Fed Chair Jerome Powell, Trump forgets that he appointed him, saying "I'm surprised he was appointed. I was surprised that Biden put him in."

(Trump appointed Powell on November 2, 2017, and former President Biden reappointed him in May of 2022. Why doesn't Trump's staff insist on prepping him before he goes before cameras and the American people and shows his mental deterioration?

How bad must Trump's mental state be for him NOT TO REMEMBER that he himself appointed Powell?

Where's Jake Tapper now on this egregious show of Trump's failing cognitive abilities?

Do people actually think Trump's in charge? Really?

A REMINDER

They photoshopped him out of the final picture.

If only...

By now you must have heard how Trump behaved after Chelsea beat Paris Saint Germain in the World Cup finals.

After presenting the winning team its trophy, Trump refused to leave the stage where the Chelsea team was ready to enjoy a well-earned victory celebration. Trump, ever the malignant narcissist, after being signaled by FIFA head, Gianni Infantino, to leave the stage to the winning team, instead stayed and inserted himself as part of the celebration with which he had nothing to do.

(It is customary for the head of state to present the winning team with the trophy AND THEN LEAVE the stage so that the winning team can enjoy the attention and limelight earned because of its amazing win.)

But this is America with a petty, jealous little man-child as its head.

But wait, there's more!

Later, we found out that Trump took the original trophy that the Chelsea team won and has it on display in the Oval Office. A replica of the original trophy will be given to the winning team.

Get that? Trump, who is not the president of the country which the winning team, Chelsea, is from, grabbed the original trophy for himself and his glory, and the winning team merely gets a copy!

(Even though the linked article reports that Infantino offered the trophy to Trump for him to keep in the Oval Office, a gracious POTUS would have declined the gesture and made sure it went home with the winning team. But Trump is the extreme opposite of "gracious," and Infantino knew what he was doing by brown-nozing Trump before the World Cup comes to the US next year.)

What a disgrace for the world to witness!

WHAT CHANGED HIS MIND?

History will NOT be kind to Trump's supporters (many are abandoning him because of his 180 on the Epstein files). MAGA refuse to see him for the criminal, liar, cheat, fraudster, sexual predator and pal of Epstein that he is/was. Trump and Melania partied with child rapist Epstein and his procurer, Maxwell, for years.

Photos of them together are all over the internet.

There's a reason Bondi lied about the list:

Trumpism: The Age of Moral Numbness

"There’s a question that’s been bugging me for nearly a decade. How is it that half of America looks at Donald Trump and doesn’t find him morally repellent? He lies, cheats, steals, betrays, and behaves cruelly and corruptly, and more than 70 million Americans find him, at the very least, morally acceptable. Some even see him as heroic, admirable, and wonderful. What has brought us to this state of moral numbness?" -- David Brooks, The Atlantic

*****************************************************

If someone wants to tell me Trump’s a ‘good’ person, I just ask what his ‘good’ qualities are -- greed, hate, envy, jealousy, pettiness? -- always blaming others, etc.?  If you’re convinced he’s a ‘good’ person, it’s likely because you share his qualities.

IMO, Trump speaks the language of an abuser. I know it well and so do others. If you don’t recognize the words he chooses to use as abusive, then you are one of two things:  also an abuser or someone who has experienced abuse but hasn’t come to terms with it yet.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut

The floods ripped through Texas on July 4.

On July 5, FEMA received 3000 calls from survivors. 1% were unanswered.

That night, Trump/Noem fired the people who answer the calls.

On July 6, FEMA received 2,363 calls. 65% unanswered.

July 7: 85%.

Meanwhile:

+3
“Yes, Kristi Noem did ask her social media followers to help choose a portrait of her while devastating floods were impacting Texas
.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem posted three portraits of herself on horseback on her Instagram account and asked her followers to choose which one they liked best for her official portrait to hang in the South Dakota State Capitol, according to The Economic Times.
This action drew criticism, particularly because it occurred during the Texas floods, and a new DHS policy requiring Noem's personal sign-off on contracts and grants over $100,000 reportedly delayed FEMA's response and hindered search and rescue efforts, according to The Daily Beast. Critics viewed the timing of the post as insensitive and prioritizing personal image over the urgent needs of the disaster victims. “

Dear Gawd

Donald Trump swept into Kerrville today for what was ostensibly a visit to console flood-ravaged Texans but quickly became another episode of Donald Trump: The Disaster Tourist Chronicles. As Trump himself put it, he’s “gone to a lot of hurricanes, a lot of tornadoes,” but “never seen anything like this.” Which, if you’ve listened to a single Trump presser in your life, you know he says every single time he visits a disaster zone.

In a room stuffed with Texas officials, grieving families, Dr. Phil (yes, really), and the usual wall of TV cameras, Trump launched into his greatest hits. “Nobody has any idea how and why a thing like this could happen,” he said, as if flash flooding during record rain in a state with insufficient infrastructure was some unsolvable cosmic riddle.

He praised the Coast Guard, noting they rescued “an incredible 169 children at Camp Mystic,” before pivoting to his own hero’s journey: “I had to be here as president, first lady wanted to be here.” Because, you see, it’s about him showing up, not about the children swept away by a monstrous river at 3 AM. Melania, clutching a bracelet given to her by camp survivors, shared that they were there to “honor them and also to give the support, help, and I will be back. I promise.” You could almost hear the Trump campaign ad music swelling in the background.

Trump took a moment to rattle off every Republican in Texas and Washington he could remember, praising each for their “unbelievable” work, because if there’s one thing Trump loves during a national tragedy, it’s making sure people know which GOP loyalists showed up to clap for him. “Governor Abbott, he’s an amazing guy,” Trump said, while Abbott beamed like a teenager getting noticed by a celebrity at the mall.

Of course, when a CBS reporter dared ask about the reportedly delayed flood warnings, Trump’s patience for the suffering of Texans vanished like FEMA stockpiles under Jared Kushner’s watch: “Only a bad person would ask a question like that, to be honest with you. I don’t know who you are, but only a very evil person would ask a question like that.” The children may be dead, but Trump’s inability to take the mildest accountability remains eternal.

What Trump didn’t mention, because of course he didn’t, is that it took 72 hours before Kristi Noem signed off on disaster assistance for Texas because she has a rule requiring her personal signature for any federal expenditure over $100,000. Three days of delay while children were missing, parents were digging through debris with their bare hands, and entire communities were underwater. And where was Kristi Noem during this humanitarian crisis she was actively prolonging? Posting Instagram pictures of herself on horseback, grinning under the Texas sun, the aesthetic of personal branding apparently more urgent than signing the paper that would unlock rescue and recovery funds.

It is hard to imagine a cleaner demonstration of the sociopathy that has become the default operating system for MAGA leadership: photo ops on horseback while families wait for rescue, reality-show presidency in front of flood wreckage, and rage at reporters for daring to ask why children had to die before the paperwork got filed.

The event took a surreal turn as Dr. Phil, who apparently wandered in from the local Texas Starbucks, delivered a TED Talk on grief, declaring that “you never get over it, you get through it.” Dr. Phil then described a rescuer yelling “throw me your baby” as the floodwaters rose, while Trump nodded gravely as if this was a scene from one of his many reality shows.

Ted Cruz, ever eager to appear useful, shared a tragic account of visiting Camp Mystic and seeing “17 small white crosses in the ground,” each for a little girl who drowned, and added that the camp director “gave his life trying to save his girls.” In typical Ted Cruz fashion, he then pivoted back to the comforting embrace of Christian hymns and Republican unity, because no Texas tragedy is complete without a performative appeal to God and bootstraps.

Meanwhile, Trump bragged about getting emergency funds to Texas “within about 2 minutes,” claiming “no other president would do that.” Not to be outdone by the suffering of children, Trump managed to insert a bizarre aside about how his administration “got the cost of eggs right down,” which presumably will be a huge comfort to parents who just lost their kids in a flash flood.

At one point, Chip Roy leapt in to thank Trump for dropping everything to help, telling the media that “pointing fingers is for losers.” Because, you see, wanting to know why an alert system failed as children were swept from their beds is just “loser behavior” in Texas Strong™ world.

Ted Cruz closed by telling the story of a 14-year-old boy at another camp who helped save younger children from the rising water, calling it trauma but also “something to be proud of.” The event crescendoed with Trump declaring the spirit of Texas was “unity and competence,” a phrase so jarringly detached from the Trump brand that it practically echoed in the room.

In the end, Trump told the room: “We’re gonna make it back, we’re gonna make it back and we’re gonna make it good again,” not missing the opportunity to align the loss of children and homes with a vague campaign slogan about winning.

The entire event functioned as a grimly familiar blend of infomercial vibes, grief tourism, partisan attaboys, and disjointed bragging, with the dead and missing children held up as tragic proof of leadership, rather than as evidence of the profound failures of policy and preparedness that made this disaster so devastating. But hey, at least the president showed up for the photo op, promised to rebuild a store, and reminded Texas that eggs are cheaper now. So, mission accomplished, right?

Tragic

“Noem didn’t authorize FEMA’s deployment of Urban Search and Rescue teams until Monday, more than 72 hours after the flooding began, multiple sources told CNN.”

As CNN has previously reported, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem — whose department oversees FEMA — recently enacted a sweeping rule aimed at cutting spending: Every contract and grant over $100,000 now requires her personal sign-off before any funds can be released.

WE WARNED AMERICA ABOUT THIS MANIAC

Trump suggests taking over New York City and Washington DC

"Trump attacked Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani, who describes himself as a democratic socialist, and ticked through the other contenders, including Eric Adams, Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa, though he declined to endorse anyone.

'We're not going to have -- if a communist gets elected to run New York, it can never be the same. But we have tremendous power at the White House to run places when we have to,' Trump said.

Trump didn't elaborate on what authority that would be as he then turned his focus to the nation's capital."

Mamdani is not a Communist, he's a democratic socialist.

Many successful countries have a mixture of free market principles and social safety nets, with government intervention in specific areas concerning social welfare:  health care, education, and programs that benefit their citizens.

The idea that a POTUS would take over an American city because he doesn't like the person who was duly, legally nominated by the citizens of that city is abhorrent, unAmerican, and dictatorial in every way.

We all know Trump has the mind of an autocrat, and this latest idea he put out today is more evidence of what happens when a country gives the power of the presidency to a vacuous, malignant narcissist who has delusions of grandeur and no knowledge of the history of our country nor what is in our Constitution.

This idea he put out today is more evidence of his madness and hunger for absolute power.

TELL ME AGAIN HOW THIS MAKES AMERICA GREAT

Why do these despicably sick people feel empowered enough to back up their hatred of the LGBTQ+ community by invoking the Trump administration's support?

And how is this different from fanatical Islam that demands the killing of infidels?

Can anyone answer that for me?

"Indiana church tells LGBTQ+ community to kill themselves—or they will face the death penalty under Trump. The church then doubled down after backlash: "They are supposed to be executed by the government."

Sermon titled "Pray the Gay Away" was given at "Men’s Preaching Night" by Stephen Falco at Sure Foundation Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The church continued to defend the preaching saying: "He’s only calling for the death penalty and suicide for the actual sodomites. The Bible teaches that those people are worthy of death."

(The Bible says to execute adulterers, too. In fact, that particular crime is explicitly mentioned 60+ times, while gay sex is mentioned - ambiguously - only a few times and never by Jesus. And there's a very famous adulterer in the WH, as well as heading up the DoD. Interesting isn't it, how selective these Evangelicals can be about condemning people to death according to the Bible.)

NOTE:  Most Christian churches that I know of do NOT advocate for this sort of violence against the LGBTQ+ community. But I live in Massachusetts, so I do not know how the Bible Belt deals with this subject. And I have read that certain state and federal legislators as well as Supreme Court justices want to revisit the Obergefell v. Hodges decision making same sex marriage legal.

This sort of violent rhetoric against the LGBTQ+ community is something one would imagine coming from a primitive, ignorant society, not a technologically and educationally advanced country.

But here we are.

The Epstein Files and the Disappearing Client List

Bondi, like Trump, is a liar. IMO, she's not the AG of the US. She's Trump's personal lawyer, and Trump, as the world knows, is a liar, a cheat, a fraudster and a convicted criminal. We have no reason to believe what Bondi said. None. She, apparently, is a liar, just like her mobster boss, convicted criminal Trump.

#BREAKINGNEWS: Attorney General Pam Bondi told the American people on February 21st, that she had the Epstein client list on her desk. Today she claims that there is no list, and no further investigation needed.

Alina Habba says there has to be accountability, until someone decides there won't be. I wonder who that was...

Funny how that works, isn't it.

First there was a list and now there isn't.

There are photos all over the internet of Trump and Melania partying with child traffickers Epstein and Maxwell for years.

When Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested, Trump said he "wished her well." Who says that about a convicted pedophile?

Answer: Trump did.  Trump said that.  I wonder why.

This smells worse than a pile of rotten fish left out in the Florida sun since February of 2025.
