TRUMP GOES FULL FASCIST

WE ARE ALREADY THERE
As we think about this case, here's a few things to consider...
1. There are over 100 lawyers in the Virginia Federal Prosecutors office. The former US Atty in the office resigned, rather than follow orders of non lawyer President Trump to get an indictment of Comey. That US Atty has stated there was no sufficient evidence to charge Comey.
2. None of the other more than 100 lawyers were willing to charge the case, because of a lack of evidence,
3. Trump's new US Atty in Virginia, as yet, only acting and not confirmed by the US Senate, has no, not some, no prosecutorial experience and has never in her life tried a case. Not one.
4. Trumps new US Atty in Virginia has worked in insurance law, not criminal law.
5. The Virginia office brought the charges over the objection of the entire office. How do we know this? US Attys do not sign charging documents, which Trump's appointee did in this case. Further, not a single other lawyer in the office signed on to this document, signaling a complete lack of support from the career lawyers at the Virginia office.
6. Trump, in violation of over 50 years of precedent, after Nixon tried to politicize the DOJ, has inserted himself into the process, personally overruled Sr DOJ lawyers and continues to try and influence and impact he case through his statements and social media accts.
This is a mess for the USA.
But... Trump and his cronies, including folks at the Mothership are ecstatic. Because in their minds, finally someone on the right will experience the full weight of a weaponized US government, as they believe those on the right have been living with since Nixon.

THIS IS HOW AUTHORITARIAN REGIMES OPERATE:
We are already there
From Australian, Carrick Ryan — A perspective of guns, US vs. Australia:
Another shooting in the US today, adding to fears of growing political violence. A gunman in Texas fired into an ICE field office, killing three detainees before turning the gun on himself.
Just like the person who tried to kill Trump, just like the person who killed Charlie Kirk... this seems to be the actions of a disturbed young man with no clear signs of political allegiance, or even a clear motive.
It made me realise... I'm not sure Americans appreciate what it's actually like living in a country with almost no guns.
While we are experiencing a degree of the polarisation and political volatility that the US has, the tension isn't the same because the fear of gratuitous violence isn't the same.
Remember, teenage boys in Australia consume almost the exact same media as those in the USA. They play the same video games, listen to the same podcasters, they're sold the same grievances (though they are substantially less likely to go to church).
But crucially, almost none of them have access to a firearm. It seems increasingly obvious that letting alienated and emotionally unstable young men, often with untreated mental health issues, possess military grade weapons for a hobby is... insane.
Before I became a Federal Agent, I had never touched a gun, let alone fire one. The only firearms I had ever seen in Australia were in the holsters of police officers, and most Australians would be the same.
To this day, I have only ever fired two types of firearm in my life, both on the firing range within my Police headquarters. In my decade of service, I never needed to operationally discharge my firearm. I probably had to draw it less than 15 times.
I never once approached an offender, car, or home, with the genuine fear of encountering a firearm, which made the likelihood of me "accidentally shooting" someone as they reached for something significantly lower. If we believed there was even the slim chance that a gun would be involved, a tactical team would be deployed.
Even today, I don't have a single friend who owns a gun. It's not in our culture, but it's also bloody hard to get one.
In my state, for example, you are not even allowed to hold someone else's firearm unless have a firearms licence. To get one of those you must either be a member of a target shooting club, a hunter, or need one for your job. If you have a criminal record, a domestic violence allegation, or the Police have concerns about your character for any reason, you will not be granted a licence (or have it taken away).
Once you complete the appropriate course, you may purchase a firearm commensurate to your purpose (e.g. pistol for target shooting, hunting rifle for hunting etc.). There is no genuine reason for anyone to have automatic or military grade weapons, so no licenses are granted.
If you own a firearm, it must be stored in a secure safe which Police can demand to inspect at any time. Failing to secure it appropriately is a criminal offence. This makes the theft of firearms very rare, but of course they are still available on the black market... if you have the cash and the connections.
To buy a black market handgun in Australia will generally set you back around $15,000, and that's assuming you find the right person to ask before the police hear about you. So while a wealthy underworld figure might be able to source a firearm to take out a gangland rival; your average teenager, religious fundamentalist, or radicalised ideologue, simply cannot get one by themselves. No small time crook has the money for an illegal firearm, because almost nothing they can steal will be worth more than that gun.
Do I fear a tyrannical government? Sure, which is why we have elections every three years. If they get cancelled and someone tries to implement some authoritarian rule? Well, taking on the Australian military with my AR15 really isn't going to cut it. They have tanks.
...and to be honest, watching authoritarianism take over the US without a shot being fired from these "well organised militias" has made it obvious to everyone how redundant this excuse is.
I appreciate the sheer number of guns already saturating the USA makes it all but impossible to put the genie back in the bottle, but stop blaming this on politics... it's the guns. It's always been the guns.

TRUMP EMBARRASSES AMERICA AGAIN ON THE GLOBAL STAGE
@ Tom Nichols & @RadioFreeTom • 5h
I would say that it's a dangerous thing to show the world that the American president is clearly suffering from some kind of disordered emotional issue, but by this point, there's not a country on the planet that didn't already know it.
Ishaan Tharoor:
A senior foreign diplomat posted at the UN texts me: "This man is stark, raving mad. Do Americans not see how embarrassing this is?"
Ron Filipkowski @ @RonFilipkowski •1h O •
Summary of Trump's speech to the UN today:
- Your countries all suck.
- None of you know what you are doing.
- The US is better at everything.
- All because of me.
- I'm right about everything.
- You should listen to me & do what I say.
- And give me lots of awards.

Here's the MAGA's president:
He's calling for his personal attorney AG, Pam Bondi, to trump up something to indict these people who were doing their jobs and being mean to him. That is EXACTLY what this criminal is doing. And the Republicans don't care.
THIS IS HOW AUTHORITARIAN/DICTATOR/THUGS BEHAVE:
🚨 TRUMP DEMANDS JAIL FOR JOURNALISTS — AND PROSECUTIONS OF HIS ENEMIES 🚨
President Trump is no longer hinting at authoritarianism. He’s living it out loud.
On Friday, Trump declared that reporters who criticize him are breaking the law — saying, “They take a great story and make it bad. I think that’s really illegal.” No law cited. Just a threat.
He then unveiled a new Pentagon crackdown: Journalists must now pledge not to gather any information — even unclassified — unless it’s been approved. If they refuse? Their credentials will be revoked.
This is censorship by design, and it’s not isolated.
On Saturday, Trump publicly leaked a private message to Attorney General Pam Bondi — furious she hasn’t prosecuted his political enemies fast enough. He named James Comey, Letitia James, and Adam Schiff and wrote: “We can’t delay any longer. It’s killing our reputation and credibility.”
He then attacked U.S. Attorney Erik Siebert for refusing to indict them, falsely claimed he “fired” him, and announced a replacement: Lindsey Halligan — his personal attorney and White House aide.
Halligan, who helped gut the classified docs case and recently led a Trump-backed review of the Smithsonian’s slavery exhibits, will now oversee prosecutions in one of America’s most powerful legal districts — if confirmed by a Republican Senate.
This isn’t just retribution. It’s regime behavior.
He’s threatening the press. Demanding the jailing of rivals. Replacing prosecutors with loyalists.

NEVER BELIEVE A LYING LIAR.
Everything old is new again:
If it looks like an authoritarian; if it walks like an authoritarian, if it talks like an authoritarian,
IT'S AN AUTHORITARIAN:
Donald Trump: “You have evening shows and all they do is hit Trump. They're not allowed to do that.”
YES. THEY. ARE! It's called Freedom of Speech!
We have an idiot president who knows nothing about the Constitution he swore to "preserve, protect, and defend!"
IF YOU OFFEND THE REGIME, THE REGIME WILL COME AFTER YOU.
FCC Chairman, Brenden Carr:
