TRUMP GOES FULL FASCIST—AGAIN

TRUMP today at the gathering of generals at Quantico:

“It’s the one thing with Obama, I had zero respect for him as a president, but he would bop down those stairs. I’ve never seen, da-da, da, da. Pop, pop, pop. He’d go down the stairs, wouldn’t hold on. I said, “it’s great. I don’t want to do it.” I guess I could do it, but eventually bad things are gonna happen. And it only takes once. But he did a lousy job as president. A year ago, we were a dead country. We were dead. This country was going to hell.”

And this:

“Trump noted that he brags that "we have the strongest military anywhere in the world," then falsely added, "You never heard Biden say that. You never heard him say anything, but you never heard him say – did we ever hear him say, ‘We have the strongest military.' He doesn't say that."

In fact, Biden repeatedly said the US has the world's strongest military. To cite just one example, Biden said in a 2023 speech about democracy: "Our US military – and this is not hyperbole; I've said it for the last two years – is the strongest military in the history of the world. Not just the strongest in the world – in the history of the world." Biden sometimes made the same point using slightly different language. In the last week of his presidency, in January 2025, he told a Defense Department audience, "You are simply the greatest fighting force in the history of the world – in the history of the world. That's a fact. That's not hyperbole, that's a fact."

YAHOO NEWS: "Trump warns he will starve NYC of funds if Mamdani elected as mayor"

So, where are Skud, - FJ, Joe Conservative, and other Trumpers from WYD commenting on an American president threatening to withhold federal funds from a city, and from a man who may be elected mayor of that city, because the President of the United States doesn’t want the people to elect their own mayor? Where is the outrage from the Americans who have heard that an American president will punish the people of New York City unless they vote for whom he wants as mayor of their city?

I have never heard in my lifetime a POTUS financially threaten a city unless the voters of that city vote for HIS candidate.

Where is the outrage? Why have Trump supporters and others remained quiet while this authoritarian threat comes from the mouth of a convicted felon and adjudicated sexual assaulter?

This is how fascist regime‘s operate!

TRUMP GOES FULL FASCIST

TRUMP has authorized the use of US troops against US citizens, with lethal/full force.

THIS IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL and AGAINST THE MILITARY OATH TO PRESERVE, PROTECT, AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION!

Joe Walsh:

“What do you call the leader of a country who, for no reason at all, puts the military on the country’s streets and uses that military against the country’s citizens? A fascist. Yes, a fascist. That’s what you would call that leader.”

WE ARE ALREADY THERE

I tried to put up a post about this unprecedented attack on our American democracy by the criminal president of the US, but I kept having trouble with my PC. So, I'm greatful to Dave Miller for his insights (which were the same as mine) on this serious attack on the rule of law by Trump and his toadies. This is how authoritarian regimes operate, and any American who celebrates this assault on our democracy isn’t worthy of being called an American.

 DAVE MILLER:

As we think about this case, here's a few things to consider...

1. There are over 100 lawyers in the Virginia Federal Prosecutors office. The former US Atty in the office resigned, rather than follow orders of non lawyer President Trump to get an indictment of Comey. That US Atty has stated there was no sufficient evidence to charge Comey.

2. None of the other more than 100 lawyers were willing to charge the case, because of a lack of evidence,

3. Trump's new US Atty in Virginia, as yet, only acting and not confirmed by the US Senate, has no, not some, no prosecutorial experience and has never in her life tried a case. Not one.

4. Trumps new US Atty in Virginia has worked in insurance law, not criminal law.

5. The Virginia office brought the charges over the objection of the entire office. How do we know this? US Attys do not sign charging documents, which Trump's appointee did in this case. Further, not a single other lawyer in the office signed on to this document, signaling a complete lack of support from the career lawyers at the Virginia office.

6. Trump, in violation of over 50 years of precedent, after Nixon tried to politicize the DOJ, has inserted himself into the process, personally overruled Sr DOJ lawyers and continues to try and influence and impact he case through his statements and social media accts.

This is a mess for the USA.

But... Trump and his cronies, including folks at the Mothership are ecstatic. Because in their minds, finally someone on the right will experience the full weight of a weaponized US government, as they believe those on the right have been living with since Nixon.

THIS IS HOW AUTHORITARIAN REGIMES OPERATE:

We are already there

NYTimes:

“President Trump’s handpicked federal prosecutor in the Eastern District of Virginia is racing to present a case against James B. Comey, the former F.B.I. director, to a grand jury before a deadline early next week, according to officials familiar with the situation.

Lindsey Halligan, a former defense lawyer for Mr. Trump who was hastily appointed after the president forced out her predecessor last week, is rushing to draft an indictment under withering pressure from the White House. The president has demanded the department go after one of his foremost enemies, even though career prosecutors determined there was insufficient evidence to indict Mr. Comey.

Prosecutors have been looking into whether Mr. Comey should be charged with lying to Congress in connection to the F.B.I. investigation of Mr. Trump’s 2016 campaign’s ties to Russia, which the president claims was a witch hunt aimed at destroying him.

Ms. Halligan, who had no experience as a prosecutor before her recent appointment, could seek to bring charges as early as Thursday, but is expected to take action by Tuesday, when the statute of limitations on Mr. Comey’s congressional testimony expires, according to officials who requested anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation.”

NYTimes:

“Justice Dept. Official Pushes Prosecutors to Investigate George Soros’s Foundation

The directive suggests department leaders are following orders from the president, a major break from decades of past practice meant to insulate the agency from political interference.”

From Australian, Carrick Ryan — A perspective of guns, US vs. Australia:

Another shooting in the US today, adding to fears of growing political violence. A gunman in Texas fired into an ICE field office, killing three detainees before turning the gun on himself.

Just like the person who tried to kill Trump, just like the person who killed Charlie Kirk... this seems to be the actions of a disturbed young man with no clear signs of political allegiance, or even a clear motive.

It made me realise... I'm not sure Americans appreciate what it's actually like living in a country with almost no guns.

While we are experiencing a degree of the polarisation and political volatility that the US has, the tension isn't the same because the fear of gratuitous violence isn't the same.

Remember, teenage boys in Australia consume almost the exact same media as those in the USA. They play the same video games, listen to the same podcasters, they're sold the same grievances (though they are substantially less likely to go to church).

But crucially, almost none of them have access to a firearm. It seems increasingly obvious that letting alienated and emotionally unstable young men, often with untreated mental health issues, possess military grade weapons for a hobby is... insane.

Before I became a Federal Agent, I had never touched a gun, let alone fire one. The only firearms I had ever seen in Australia were in the holsters of police officers, and most Australians would be the same.

To this day, I have only ever fired two types of firearm in my life, both on the firing range within my Police headquarters. In my decade of service, I never needed to operationally discharge my firearm. I probably had to draw it less than 15 times.

I never once approached an offender, car, or home, with the genuine fear of encountering a firearm, which made the likelihood of me "accidentally shooting" someone as they reached for something significantly lower. If we believed there was even the slim chance that a gun would be involved, a tactical team would be deployed.

Even today, I don't have a single friend who owns a gun. It's not in our culture, but it's also bloody hard to get one.

In my state, for example, you are not even allowed to hold someone else's firearm unless have a firearms licence. To get one of those you must either be a member of a target shooting club, a hunter, or need one for your job. If you have a criminal record, a domestic violence allegation, or the Police have concerns about your character for any reason, you will not be granted a licence (or have it taken away).

Once you complete the appropriate course, you may purchase a firearm commensurate to your purpose (e.g. pistol for target shooting, hunting rifle for hunting etc.). There is no genuine reason for anyone to have automatic or military grade weapons, so no licenses are granted.

If you own a firearm, it must be stored in a secure safe which Police can demand to inspect at any time. Failing to secure it appropriately is a criminal offence. This makes the theft of firearms very rare, but of course they are still available on the black market... if you have the cash and the connections.

To buy a black market handgun in Australia will generally set you back around $15,000, and that's assuming you find the right person to ask before the police hear about you. So while a wealthy underworld figure might be able to source a firearm to take out a gangland rival; your average teenager, religious fundamentalist, or radicalised ideologue, simply cannot get one by themselves. No small time crook has the money for an illegal firearm, because almost nothing they can steal will be worth more than that gun.

Do I fear a tyrannical government? Sure, which is why we have elections every three years. If they get cancelled and someone tries to implement some authoritarian rule? Well, taking on the Australian military with my AR15 really isn't going to cut it. They have tanks.

...and to be honest, watching authoritarianism take over the US without a shot being fired from these "well organised militias" has made it obvious to everyone how redundant this excuse is.

I appreciate the sheer number of guns already saturating the USA makes it all but impossible to put the genie back in the bottle, but stop blaming this on politics... it's the guns. It's always been the guns.

TRUMP EMBARRASSES AMERICA AGAIN ON THE GLOBAL STAGE

@ Tom Nichols & @RadioFreeTom • 5h

I would say that it's a dangerous thing to show the world that the American president is clearly suffering from some kind of disordered emotional issue, but by this point, there's not a country on the planet that didn't already know it.

Trump: But you know, we have a border, strong, and we have a shape and the shape doesn't just go straight up. That shape is amorphous when it comes to the atmosphere.

Trump to the UN: “I'm really good at this stuff. Your countries are going to hell.”

Trump to the UN: "Everyone says I should get the Nobel Peace Prize."

Trump a few days ago: I hate my opponents I don’t wish them well

Trump today: I should get the Nobel Peace prize Trump:

Trump:  Many years ago a very successful real estate developer in New York known as Donald J. Trump, I bid on the renovation and rebuilding of this very UN complex. I said at the time that I would do it for $500 million.  They decided to go another direction that produced a far inferior product. I realized they did not know what they were doing when it came to construction…

Trump: "I'm really good at predicting things. During the campaign they had a hat -- a best-selling hat -- 'Trump was right about everything.' And I don't say that in a braggadocios way, but it's true. I've been right about everything."

***************************************************

I think most people feel sorry for the United States right now because of Trump.

They realize that he is a disaster The entire speech lasted about an hour with his usual ramblings. Now the entire world can see how crazy he is.

So embarrassing for America. Trump's speech had everything: lies, hatefulness, lunacy. All it needed was a laugh track.

***************************************************

Ishaan Tharoor:

A senior foreign diplomat posted at the UN texts me: "This man is stark, raving mad. Do Americans not see how embarrassing this is?"

Ron Filipkowski @ @RonFilipkowski •1h O •

Summary of Trump's speech to the UN today:

  1. Your countries all suck.
  2. None of you know what you are doing.
  3. The US is better at everything.
  4. All because of me.
  5. I'm right about everything.
  6. You should listen to me & do what I say.
  7. And give me lots of awards.

Here's the MAGA's president:

He's calling for his personal attorney AG, Pam Bondi, to trump up something to indict these people who were doing their jobs and being mean to him. That is EXACTLY what this criminal is doing. And the Republicans don't care.

THIS IS HOW AUTHORITARIAN/DICTATOR/THUGS BEHAVE:

"Massive banners of President Donald Trump's face adorning the exteriors of federal buildings in the nation's capital have led some Democratic lawmakers to draw comparisons to the kind of overt displays of authoritarian propaganda under leaders such as Kim Jong Un, Benito Mussolini and Saddam Hussein.

The banners were installed on the buildings of the Departments of Agriculture, Labor, and Health and Human Services in Washington D.C. They have cost taxpayers at least $50,000, according to a new oversight report released by Democratic Senator Adam Schiff's office this week.

"Dictators throughout history have used oversized portraits to convey their power and intimidate their subjects," the report said.

"In addition to the waste of taxpayer funds, the Trump Administration’s propaganda banners prompt troubling questions about whether the Trump Administration is deliberately modeling itself after authoritarian regimes."

🚨 TRUMP DEMANDS JAIL FOR JOURNALISTS — AND PROSECUTIONS OF HIS ENEMIES 🚨

President Trump is no longer hinting at authoritarianism. He’s living it out loud.

On Friday, Trump declared that reporters who criticize him are breaking the law — saying, “They take a great story and make it bad. I think that’s really illegal.” No law cited. Just a threat.

He then unveiled a new Pentagon crackdown: Journalists must now pledge not to gather any information — even unclassified — unless it’s been approved. If they refuse? Their credentials will be revoked.

This is censorship by design, and it’s not isolated.

On Saturday, Trump publicly leaked a private message to Attorney General Pam Bondi — furious she hasn’t prosecuted his political enemies fast enough. He named James Comey, Letitia James, and Adam Schiff and wrote: “We can’t delay any longer. It’s killing our reputation and credibility.”

He then attacked U.S. Attorney Erik Siebert for refusing to indict them, falsely claimed he “fired” him, and announced a replacement: Lindsey Halligan — his personal attorney and White House aide.

Halligan, who helped gut the classified docs case and recently led a Trump-backed review of the Smithsonian’s slavery exhibits, will now oversee prosecutions in one of America’s most powerful legal districts — if confirmed by a Republican Senate.

This isn’t just retribution. It’s regime behavior.

He’s threatening the press. Demanding the jailing of rivals. Replacing prosecutors with loyalists.

SATURDAY NIGHT COMEDY

Arjen Lubach of the Netherlands:

THIS IS WHAT MAGA THINKS IS "WINNING."

Joe Conservative commented:

"The Neoliberal preference Cascade is only just beginning... :) Charlie Kirk will sound saner and saner with every passing day from now on. And Trump? Winning and winning..."

Wow, first time I've seen him underwater in this poll with white people. He has negative disapproval across every possible cohort.

trump approval hits a new low in today's yougov/economist poll. now worse than he was in yougov's data at this point in 2017.

Scathing Poll Reveals What Americans Really Think of Trump's Presidency --The Daily Beast

"President Donald Trump has been flayed by the American people in a brutal poll portraying widespread frustration with his handling of key issues.

The Washington Post-Ipsos questionnaire asked citizens their opinions on six major topics of the day, yielding overall disapproval by double-digit margins in all of them. At the bottom of the pile, with just 34 percent approval, were his far-reaching tariffs, which have stung consumers with increased prices on imported goods. With 64 percent disapproving, it was only four points worse than his handling of the Russia-Ukraine war.

Just 38 percent approve, after he promised to end the conflict within a day of his inauguration. Some 40 percent of the 2,513 surveyed backed his management of the economy, 19 points down amid disapproval on inflation and relentless pressure by the administration on the Federal Reserve to cut rates.

The White House’s strongest approval ratings came on immigration and crime, with a 44 percent approval rating in two areas Trump has claimed to prioritize."

CAN SOMEONE TRANSLATE THIS GIBBERISH FOR ME?

THIS PERSON IS A CLOSE ADVISOR TO TRUMP:

No Democratic POTUS has EVER had a lunatic like Loomer advising him.

Both sides are NOT the same.

NEVER BELIEVE A LYING LIAR.

Everything old is new again:

If it looks like an authoritarian; if it walks like an authoritarian, if it talks like an authoritarian,

IT'S AN AUTHORITARIAN:

Reporter: You said the women that were protesting when you were at the restaurant should be in jail. Do you actually think that is an offense that deserves jail time? Trump: Yeah, I think they were a threat.

Donald Trump: “You have evening shows and all they do is hit Trump. They're not allowed to do that.”

YES. THEY. ARE! It's called Freedom of Speech!

We have an idiot president who knows nothing about the Constitution he swore to "preserve, protect, and defend!"

IF YOU OFFEND THE REGIME, THE REGIME WILL COME AFTER YOU.

This is what Jimmy Kimmel said:

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it. In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving. On Friday, the White House flew the flags at half staff which got some criticism but on a human level you can see how hard the president is taking this.”

*********************

After Stephen Colbert's late-night show was cancelled, Trump gleefully said he would go after Jimmy Kimmel and other late-night comedians who criticize him and who he dislikes. Well, he's done it. This is a clear-cut case of the government (under Trump) shutting down free speech, through threats:

NYTIMES: 'The largest operator of ABC affiliates, Nexstar—which needs FCC approval for a $6.2 billion merger—said it would stop airing Kimmel’s show from its stations. Then ABC suspended Kimmel’s show.

Benny Johnson, the podcaster on whose show Carr threatened Kimmel, was one of the influencers Russian state media funded to spread propaganda before the 2024 election. After Kimmel’s suspension, Johnson posted on social media: “We did it for you, Charlie. And we’re just getting started.”

FCC Chairman, Brenden Carr:

Thomas Paine considered free speech essential for self-government and the pursuit of truth, linking liberty directly to the right to express ideas, question authority, and foster dialogue, even when that expression might cause offense.
He advocated for the freedom to speak one's mind, seeing it as a cornerstone of democracy and a protection for both truth and progress.

Paine believed that free speech was fundamental to a truly democratic and self-governing society. Citizens needed the liberty to express their thoughts openly without fear of suppression to hold governments accountable. He argued that the free exchange of ideas was necessary for truth to prevail. Silencing opinions, even those considered false, was seen as an act of infallibility that robbed humanity of the chance to distinguish truth from error.

If any American approves of what the Trump Regime has done to the 1st Amendment, do not consider yourself an America, because supporting what Trump has done is NOT American.

Throughout history, this is what every tyrant who's gained political power has done upon seizing that power. The tyrant crushes, through soft or hard force, anything that threatens his power, including voices that disagree with him and voices that tell the objective truth.

If the American people don't rise up against the tyrant, Trump, we're going to lose more than our freedom of speech, we're on our way to losing everything.
