Covid is over so what is the additional funds going to be used for? Oh I forgot we need to make sure the insurance companies are adequately funded and they are big political gifters so of course the politicians would want them to have more money. Healthcare for undocumented immigrants. Medicaid work requirements for able-bodied adults on Medicaid. Can't forget funding climate resilience initiatives in other countries, and other social and equity programs.
Now that the brain trust in DC has decided instead of taking a deal in October they would shut down the government and punish the public so they could take the same deal in November, and we elect these people.

White veterans were able to use the G.I. Bill to build intergenerational wealth, while most Black veterans could not.

DEI programs are intended to address and correct historical and ongoing systemic discrimination and ensure fairness and inclusion for historically marginalized groups.
Have you forgotten or do you not know how Black soldiers returning from fighting in WWII were treated here in their own country? Go look up the disgraceful way their country treated them vis-a-vis the G.I. Bill for one example. Black G.I.s returning from fighting for their country were systematically and effectively denied access to the vast majority of its benefits through widespread racial discrimination and the bill's decentralized, locally administered implementation in the Jim Crow era. White veterans were able to use the G.I. Bill to build intergenerational wealth, while most Black veterans could not.
And to receive Medicare funding, hospitals had to comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibited discrimination based on race. This made it financially impossible for hospitals to refuse to treat Black patients.
That mandate led to the desegregation of over 7,000 hospitals virtually overnight, making it one of the most successful and rapid integration efforts in U.S. history.
In certain part of Jim Crow South a Black human being legally was denied access to emergency care or any care in a white run hospital.
(Yes! we know what you and skud would interject here: Those were Democrats who instituted Jim Crow laws. And when the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts passed, those southern Democrats switched parties and became Republicans.)

That’s not what that was about. It was Trump trying to make the people of Springfield fear black Haitians. Who wouldn’t be afraid of Black people eating their beloved family, pet dog or cat? That was his point and that was what he was trying to do; he was trying to make the Haitians be the other and for the white people to fear that the other would eat their beloved pets. It has nothing to do with cultural eating. But you knew that didn’t you.

While undocumented European immigrants can be, and are, apprehended and deported if caught in other legal infractions or targeted investigations, the sheer numbers and nature of enforcement mean they are not targeted with the same frequency as non-white immigrants.
