I AM SICKENED BY THIS

This is what racists and bigots all through history have said about immigrants coming to America.

We've known for a long time that Trump is an unrepentant racist.

Listen to how the president of the United States talks about a certain group of immigrants to our country.
I am ashamed to be an American while Trump is president. He does not represent what a majority of my fellow Americans think about immigrants, nor does he share my or my fellow human beings ' human values. There is something desperately wrong with Trump's brain.

 I'm sickened by this.

I wish there was a precedent for what happens when a demagogue picks out a vulnerable minority group and labels them as subhuman. I wonder what the next step is and whether any innocent people get hurt. And I wonder whether the demagogue's followers go on trial when the whole thing is over.

What is just as sickening is reading the comments on the Washington Post article about this. He truly unleashed something in this country. The awful racist comments are just shocking.

Gonna have to change the definition ?
"The term Minnesota nice refers to the stereotype of people from Minnesota being reserved, polite, friendly, and non-confrontational. It is often used to describe their behavior of being helpful and friendly in public, such as removing snow from someone’s driveway or supporting a grieving family."
And they have 10,000 lakes!

Well... this is what happens, what we get when evangelical Christianity turns a blind eye to how people talk about their fellow man, all of whom are made, according the scripture, in the image of God, imprinted literally, with the DNA of God.

Trump has been given essentially permission from what one writer called the "court evangelicals" to say anything, no matter how disgusting, how detached from scripture, so long as he does what they want and opposes abortion.

It's the grand bargain they've made, they're stuck with, and can't get away from.

It's not the Christianity I grew up in, have served in my entire life and has shaped me.

I don't recognize the Christianity many of my friends follow, that which enables the worst impulses of Trump, not the current presidency.

It's all disgusting, on so many levels.

This nation, and the ignorant people approving of this vile immoral as**ole, are totally and completely responsible for the horrors that are now occurring daily on the soil of this declining nation.

We are through as a beacon of light for the world. We are now, under the filth spread by tRump nothing other than on par with every other sh*thole dictatorship and deeply racist country.

The scum that sits at the top of the government is changing the nation he leads into the scum that mirrors him.

George Will, a conservative writer for the WaPo, calls this administration "a moral slum." And THAT is how we should describe it, going forth. It is apt!

George Will describes the Trump administration as a "moral slum." Who can dispute that?

I've met many Americans from Minnesota and have always been struck by their friendliness and warmth. Something that isn't always present when you first meet a New Englander, but once they get to know you, you have a friend for life. PS. Love that butter!

After listening to that hideous rant about Somali immigrants and Representative Omar, I'm more convinced than ever that Trump is far deeper into dementia than we've guessed.

My paternal grandmother and grandfather were from Minnesota. My time in Minnesota confirmed the folks there are indeed decent caring people.

I'm a native Minnesotan, growing up in St. Paul. I moved in 1982 to the DC area and am hopefully going to move back to retire. Two of my sisters still live there, along with many nieces/nephews and grand nieces/nephews. Minnesota is always in the top listing of great places to live with a vibrant theater and art scene and great medical care. Plus, it is about 40% cheaper to live than where I am now. And, I love the cold and snow, especially when I'll be living in a condo with a heated underground garage and where I don't have to do any more shoveling.

TRUMP: "It’s a hellhole right now. And those Somalians should be out of here. They've destroyed our country. And all they do is complain, complain, complain. You have her. She’s always talking about the Constitution provides me with – go back to your own country and figure out your constitution."

Trump, continued: "What the Somalian people have done to Minnesota is not even believable. It’s not even believable. And a lot of it starts with the governor. A lot of it starts with Barack HUSSEIN Obama, because that’s when people started coming in... They want to kiss our country good night."

"Every person in the room listening to Trump , in their inaction, implicitly endorsed ethnic cleansing in the US.

Thank goodness we got rid of woke, though."

From The Bulwark:

"Trump wrapped up the cabinet meeting with another diatribe against Somali-born people living in the United States. “They contribute nothing. I don’t want ’em in our country,” he fumed. “I could say it about other countries, too. We don’t want ’em.” He went on: “We’re gonna go the wrong way if we keep taking in garbage into our country.”

In particular, he lambasted Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, a naturalized American who was born in Somalia and who, according to Trump’s Thanksgiving rants, is “always wrapped in her swaddling hijab” and should be thrown “the hell out of our country.” In front of the cameras, the president told his cabinet on Tuesday: “Ilhan Omar is garbage. She’s garbage. Her friends are garbage. These aren’t people that work. . . . These are people that do nothing but complain. . . . We don’t want ’em in our country. Let ’em go back to where they came from and fix it.”

With that, the president ended the meeting, and his cabinet vigorously applauded. There’s no need for dog whistles anymore. The government of the United States now openly stands for bigotry. It’s not just closing our borders; it’s targeting Americans. And depending on where you came from, you might be next."

What we are witnessing is an extremely bitter and hateful "man". A "man" who has every material comfort a person could ask for and yet he is a very sick and miserable person. One who is so intellectually stunted as well emotionally, and spiritually damaged that he cannot find his way home. And therefore he expresses his own unhappiness and hate for himself by projecting it onto people of color who came from other countries with different, but just as valid cultural and spiritual traditions. Ones that actually enrich our nation, not hurt it.

The "president" of this nation is a loveless and souless human form that we can only pity. Because none of us would wish what djt is suffering from on our most dangerous enemy.

Somehow the phrase god help America seems pointless because if god had the power to do so it would have been done long ago. Only America can help itself and it is looking more and more like America has given up on itself through the reelection of a sub-human tyrant.>/b>
