The Protest and Clash

- Protesters carried inflatable beach toys, a yacht-length banner, and signs with slogans like "Make America Go Away" and "Venice is not to be used" (Venezia non si USA).
- Minor scuffles broke out and demonstrators briefly clashed with riot police guarding the access points before shouting "Shame!" at the ambassador, police, and local officials.
Reasons for the Outrage
- Display of Wealth: Activists criticized the massive vessel—which loomed taller than nearby historic buildings—as an arrogant and gross display of extreme wealth.
- Security and Disruption: Locals and Italian politicians expressed anger that public police resources were diverted to act as a free private security detail for a billionaire's vessel.

Great post, when a billionaire parks his yacht in a foreign country it must be trumps fault. They protest mass tourism which provides for much of their economy and without it their economic struggles would be increased. I am relieved to see you post that wealth envy is global not just the US.

And one of the points you missed is that the heavy local security costs were shifted onto Italian taxpayers for the billionaire's floating stopover.

Trump nominated Tilman Fertitta as a representative of the US. He had to know the dude had a six story yacht so yes, this is Trump's fault.
Extra credit: The movement sweeping the globe right now is not specifically TDS although our president is a very good focal point for the class of person everyone is protesting against.
As I see it humanity is pushing back against the class of humans who only take from the system without ever contributing back. What do I mean? The uber rich could pay a living wage or provide benefits for their workers but they don't, well, they don't unless forced to by laws enacted to protect the workers.
How do I know? Here in the US we have too many citizens with a job on public assistance due to low wages paid by companies who also are posting record level profits every year. And what happens here in the States is repeated across the globe.
Tone deaf jerks like U.S. Ambassador Tilman Fertitta who suck up resources such as security and law enforcement labor without paying for any of it are a perfect example.

Jim Wright had a post on the socials about the trend of the GOP to call the new wave of Democratic Socialists the latest pejorative of Communist. That guy can write! LOL I guess he's correctly named. His point though is while the GOP is disparaging everything not MAGA as communist they are the ones who truly love communism, specifically the cheap labor which always accompanies communist regimes. I won't provide anymore spoilers as he makes his points as only he can.
I've recently been reminded that sometimes the lessons in the world being taught aren't always for those of us who've already graduated the class. It would be lovely if those of us who already passed this test had a space set aside where we can comfortably wait (with snacks would be ideal) as the rest of humanity catches up but I guess that's a feature for the next iteration of society.

That means 38.5% of capable people decide to live on government assistance taking away resources that could be used for people truly needing it. If Everyone Paid Their Fair Share there would be enough money to provide for those truly in need. The DNC has no ideas since the TAX The Rich and we hate trump didn't work which is why the lost the last time so now they move to socialists candidates because there are masses of people who want all that free stuff.
