I am seeing some noise on the interwebs about how "Obumer isn't taking care of the flooding down in Baton Rouge" So I have a few moments sitting on my refuge cot down here, let me tell you some stuff.
National Guard don't think about race and religion when they go house to house rescueing people. And when they do skip a black man to go get a white one; it's because he's 80 and alone. The able bodied come next. The District6 East Baton Rouge Fire/Rescue worked 41 straight hours. There was no relief shift until the National Guard was activated at Belle Chase. Because it was all hands on deck. Their pilot lost his retirement when his 80+ head of cattle drowned while he worked.
Now those firemen get a shower and sleep. Some are making calls to refuge centers to find their wives and kids. As 4 of the 11 I met last night had lost thier homes, their families displaced, while they cared for others. Those centers are staffed and secured by men and women in fatigues that say US Army. Which means their Boss is a guy named Obama, President Obama to sad internet meme warriors.
The highwater vehicles the media talks about are Army vehicles, trucks, humvees and boats. District6 had already lost 2 boats to damage when the Army brought them more. When people lineup outside this convention center, they are in and registered in 30 minutes.
The restrooms are clean, water is stacked neatly around the hall if you want an extra blanket, you just ask. Toiletries and clothing are being distributed.
2000 beds set up and 3 meals a day have gone off without a hitch.
This is no Katrina.2, and if you think the Whitehouse was silent because they didn't hold a presser, or didn't call you? That would be because they called people that mattered.
*3 shelters currently house 7k people. Over 30k people have been rescued across 7 parishes in 91 hours.

Worst Case of Buyer's Remorse I've Ever Seen!
I'd never heard of Bob Lonsberry because I don't pay attention to who's who in rabid talk radio, but apparently he's a thing in Rochester, New York. He hits on every reason so many people have fled from The Trumpster since his debut in June 2015, when he smeared the Latino and Hispanic communities. And then, one by one, went on to insult, demean, and lie about every other demographic in this country, except undereducated old white men.
I would just point out to Lonsberry that The Trumpster doesn't need to book a flight to go on his very, very nice vacation after he loses in November, because the billionaire flies around in his private jet, while at the same time his hapless supporters claim "he's one of us!."
The only other comment I have on Lonsberry's cri de coeur is this:
It's to your everlasting shame -- yours and the people who still believe this maniac would be a terrific president -- that you didn't figure Don the Con out long before this.
I'll remind you of your egregiously horrible judgement about the person you now call a "dumb son of a bitch." Trump always was and always will be what you call him now and, may I add, for not seeing this when millions of other Americans did, so will you.

A number of radical rabid right wing blogs have been spreading a rumor about the Clinton Foundation. One Trump spokesperson tried to do the same thing on CNN the other day, only to be silenced by facts.
The fact-checking came from Pulitzer Prize winning fact-check organization, PolitiFact, and the other from FactCheck.org. Both of those sources are not respected by the radical rabid right wingers because the fact-checking doesn't comport with their rumors so, therefore, both organizations are "obviously" Commie organization led by George Soros.
Remember, those same people who don't believe in fact-checking are the same people who support Donald Trump.

"The Wall Street Journal is calling on the Republican Party to give up on Donald Trump if the presidential nominee doesn't "change his act by Labor Day."
In an editorial published Sunday evening, the Journal said that if Trump's backers can't get him to turn things around, the GOP "will have no choice but to write off the nominee as hopeless and focus on salvaging the Senate and House and other down-ballot races."
Trump himself needs to "stop blaming everyone else and decide if he wants to behave like someone who wants to be president -- or turn the nomination over to [running mate] Mike Pence," the article argued. The paper's biting criticism comes as Trump has escalated his war on the news media, accusing it of putting "false meaning" into his words and "protecting" his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton.
In particular, he blasted a New York Times article that painted a dire picture of his campaign. Related: Donald Trump says media is out to get him But the Journal editorial singles out Trump as the problem, saying reports about difficulties in his campaign "are appearing now because the polls show that Mr. Trump is on the path to losing a winnable race."

Another Trump Lie About ISIS
Trump stated that President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are the founders of ISIS.
This is another easily refuted lie.

The video is from the Islamic State of Iraq, an insurgent group that includes al Qaeda in Iraq.
The video included a still image of the photo identifications of Spc. Alex R. Jimenez , 25, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, and Pvt. Byron W. Fouty, 19, of Waterford, Michigan. (Watch how soldiers' ID cards ended up on Web site Video) Above the photos, written in Arabic, was the message, "Bush is the reason for the loss of your prisoners."
Again and again and again Trump shows the American people that he has no grasp of facts and that he resorts to lies and b.s. to distract from his imploding campaign.
The above report is from 2007, and it clearly states that the "Islamic State in Iraq" was already operative. ISI has changed names -- ISIS, ISIL, but it is the same group that was operating in Iraq during GWB's disastrous war.
The Latest From a Trump Supporter, After Trump's 2nd Amendment Threat
Trump is lying again when he falsely claims Hillary Clinton would "abolish" the 2nd Amendment if she were president. Trump has shown himself, again, to be ignorant of our system of laws to understand that a president can't, on her own,"abolish" an amendment to the Constitution. His supporters are apparently too dumb to understand that fact as well. But there it is.

Trump said, "Hillary Clinton wants to abolish the Second Amendment." We found no evidence of Clinton ever saying verbatim or suggesting explicitly that she wants to abolish the Second Amendment, and the bulk of Clinton’s comments suggest the opposite. She has repeatedly said she wants to protect the right to bear arms while enacting measures to prevent gun violence.

I found that the primary source for a great many such posts was none other than Martin Shkreli, the notorious Big Pharma profiteer, who has never spent a day in medical school, never taken care of a patient, and never met Clinton herself.
Shame on anybody credulous enough to repeat this crap without further solid evidence.

Did Trump go to that rally with the idea of inciting his supporters to use a Second Amendment solution should Hillary become president? Probably not. But Trump's intemperate personality and inability to self-censor the harebrained thoughts that flit through his basal ganglia got him into another major unforced error.

Donald Trump, the GOP Presidential Nominee, Went There Today.
A few weeks ago, this maniac asked Russia to interfere in our national elections.
Today, Donald Trump suggested at his rally that if Hillary Clinton is elected and gets to nominate Supreme Court Justices, there's nothing they can do about it -- except those who enjoy the Second Amendment rights, THEY may be able to do something about it.
Yeah. Trump went there and suggested that his Second Amendment Rights followers can always shoot Hillary to deter her from nominating judges if she's elected president.
Listen to his words. There's no other meaning to them. He's now encouraging his followers to assassinate Hillary, should she become president:

Liberal Blue States Outperform Conservative Red States
If conservative policies of cutting taxes and ending regulations are considered the best economic path to wealth and education, why is it that liberal blue states generally outperform the conservative red states? Has anyone looked at how Louisiana, Kansas, and Mississippi have fared under conservative economic policies versus, say, Massachusetts?
The New York Times reported on this:
"[The New York Times] identifies blue states as the 18 that supported the Democratic candidate in the last four presidential election., and red states as the 22 that supported the Republican candidate (alternative definitions yield similar results). If you compare averages, blue states are substantially richer (even adjusting for cost of living) and their residents are better educated.
Companies there do more research and development and produce more patents. Students score better on tests on basic science-oriented skills like math.
How can conservative commentators claim that red states dominate? A tactic favored by Mr. Trump's economic adviser Steven Moore is to rely on measures goosed by population expansion, like job growth or a state's economy size.
That's like portraying India as a beacon of prosperity because it has one of the biggest economies in the world and creates millions of jobs annually. Economic performance is measured in the lives of individuals, not the aggregate.
Another favorite approach is to cherry-pick a handful of red states with decent records and contrast them with the most troubled blue states. With Texas now stumbling as oil prices fall, the new conservative favorite is Utah.
Utah's low poverty rate and long life expectancy are impressive, but spotlighting a single state ignores the more numerous red states that dominate the lowest ranks of state performance -- whether for life expectancy, obesity, rates of violent crime and incarceration, or labor force participation of prime age workers.

After a restful week of sand, sea, fresh air, and NO internet, it was difficult to return to the noisy droning on of the political process in this presidential election season, but return we must.
Some things that happened while the Shaw Kenawe family were listening to and watching the wheeling and diving of herring gulls on Cape Cod's magnificent Nauset Beach:
Republican presidential nominee, Donald J. Trump attacked a Gold Star family.
Yes. That actually happened, and, from what I've read, many on the radical rabid right agree with and have excused Trump's dreadful, shameful reaction to the Khan's son's ultimate sacrifice.
One of Trump's supporters gave Trump his own Purple Heart, to which Trump commented: "I"ve always wanted a Purple Heart." As though a Purple Heart were just another trophy to brandish before the public as a symbol of Trump's worth. The Talking Yam has no idea what Americans who've earned a Purple Heart have had to sacrifice to earn one. He's a despicable draft dodger who wouldn't put his own Richie Rich ass on the line when his country needed him.
Is there nothing this bag of excrement can do to sour his supporters? I guess not, since his radical rabid right fans are still willing to debase themselves and their values because their hatred of Hillary Clinton trumps their love of America.
Trump's execrable behavior has had a devastating impact on his poll numbers (yes, we are still three months from the election, and things can change), Hillary's poll numbers are rising as Trump's are tanking. Some red states are now in play, and battleground/swing states are leaning toward Hillary.
The Harvard Republican Club, for the first time in its history and showing moral courage, is NOT endorsing Trump. And Meg Whitman, MEG WHITMAN! is endorsing Hillary Clinton. There are, as we have noted, many Republicans of principle who love America more than a political party. Good for Meg Whitman, and shame on those lily-livered cowards who continue to make excuses for sticking with the disaster for the country that is Trump.
The Libertarian Party's new slogan for their Gary Johnson and Bill Weld ticket is "Feel The Johnson," which everyone knows is an oblique way of saying "Feel The Penis." Clever or PG13-rated? I report; you decide. Between the nude photos of a potential FLOTUS published in a Trump-friendly newspaper and now the Libertarian Party asking Americans to "Feel The Penis," one wonders what other soft porn the Goopers and Libertarians have in store for the American public to enjoy during this unique presidential election season.
