My brother-in-law, Charlie, is a well-known New England regional artist whose work has been featured in galleries in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He has won many awards, has had his work shown in various regional museums, and his work is included in private collections all over the U.S.
Charlie's landscapes have been described as evocative of Les Fauvres, a loose grouping of early 20th century Modern artists whose works emphasized painterly qualities and strong colour over the representational values retained by Impressionism.
In addition to his landscapes, Charlie does portraiture work--human and animal.
He has also collaborated with me to illustrate several children's books I've written for members of our family.
Enjoy his work at his website and at the Art 3 Gallery.
The photo of Charlie was taken at a wedding where he was surrounded by his "angels."
