LIMBAUGH SAYS PRESIDENT OBAMA IS AFRAID OF HIM?

"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," President Obama told House Republicans during stimulus negotiations on Friday.

Limbaugh has encouraged Republicans to oppose the stimulus plan because it would give Democrats an electoral advantage by creating new jobs. He's also said he wants President Obama to fail

Yes, Gasbag, oppose the plan because it may give the Democrats an electoral advantage. That's the reason for Gasbag's bloviation over this. He doesn't care about the American people. He's afraid that the momentum of the last two elections will keep the Republicans in the minority for a good many years. And guess what, Limbaugh, that's exactly what will happen as long as they listen to you, an undereducated corpulent clown.

Please. Keep doing what you're doing. A majority of Americans--77%--approve of President Obama. You're a pathetic leftover from the Era of Stupidity--the era that brought us the failures of George Bush that led to the collapse of our economy.

On the radio Monday, Limbaugh said Obama wished the same for him.

No, Rush, you're really not that important. You're actually a joke, and we're laughing our asses off. Thanks for the diversion.

"He's obviously more frightened of me than he is Mitch McConnell. He's more frightened of me, then he is of say, John Boehner, which doesn't say much about our party," Limbaugh said.

Right. The Leader of the Free World and Commander in Chief is "frightened" of a once drug-addicted, radio jokester. Ooooh. President Obama's quaking in his shoes over your power. *snort*

Limbaugh today planned to unveil his own bipartisan plan to "resolve the fight over the stimulus package."

I can't wait to see what this college drop-out who failed at every academic endeavor he tried has to say about rescuing the entire American economy.

"I think Obama wants me to fail," Limbaugh said. "President Obama, by telling you and the elected Republicans in Washington to not listen to me because I am not how things get done in Washington, he has said that he wants me to fail.

Rush, listen to me. You already ARE a failure. You failed to get the Republicans elected in 2006 and 2008. Haven't you noticed the change in American politics? The Liberals are in power.

You're a has been. Really. Live with it.

Gordon's right. When Obama told people not to listen to Limbaugh, he gave Limbaugh an opening to say that Obama was afraid of him.

The President would do better in the future to ignore Limbaugh and not talk about him.

When President Obama said Congressional Republicans shouldn't JUST listen to Rush, he was reminding them that as responsible lawmakers, their job is to be serious about making laws, and not to listen to and be influenced by egomaniacal joksters and comedians.

It's a sad commentary on certain mentalities in Congress that they have to be reminded of this simple idea.

In fact some Congressman apparently said something against Limbaugh, then groveled like a eunuch at the feet of the Eternal Gasbag and asked forgiveness.

What a laugh!

My posting on Limbaugh does not "empower" him. Twelve people reading my blog hardly qualifies as empowerment.

And I think President Obama needed to remind people who take their marching orders from a comedian to get serious about their jobs.

Only Republicans would not see the absurdity of saying that the Commander in Chief and the Leader of the Free world was "afraid" of Rush.

Nancy" Queen of Pork" Pelosi was asked about criticism from Rush Limbaugh over the massive stimulus package that the House passed yesterday. Pelosi said. "I don't speak to that."
This tooth sucking, prune hag Pelosi, is stupid and she gets worse and showing how drunk with power she is.

Obama and his Clinton retread team of self absorbed millionaires along with Nancy "Botox" Pelosi and Dingy harry are clueless. If this keeps up, in two years you won't be able to find anyone that claims to have voted for the guy, except of course the unbiased, thrill up leg, joke called the mainstream media.
We saw for 8 yrs Bush's trying to make nice and McCain trying to be one of them. It did no good. Now, Nutty Nancy and the King of Stink.. BO, have arrogance out the wazoo and could care less about anything but power ( to themselves) but not to the people.

I don't trust or believe one single word out of the mouths of OBAMA,Pelosi and Reid. might have good intentions, but with Pelosi and Reid in the driver's seat, nothing good will come from them. I hope the Republicans stick to their guns for a change. That would certainly be refreshing.

Hey Dave,

Thanks for coming by and enlightening us with your insightful, soaring prose.

"This tooth sucking, prune hag Pelosi, is stupid and she gets worse and showing how drunk with power she is."

This sort of discourse will surely encourage people to be part of the Republican Party.

"We saw for 8 yrs Bush's trying to make nice..."

"I'm the Decider."--GWB

August 5, 2001

"Bush, wearing khakis and a knit shirt, was holding a driver in his gloved left hand. The rest of his foursome, including his father, former president George H.W. Bush, was waiting. However incongruous the setting, the president plunged ahead. "There are a few killers who want to stop the peace process that we have started, and we must not let them," he said. "I call upon all nations to do everything they can to stop these terrorist killers."

His business out of the way, Bush barely paused for breath before saying, "Thank you. Now watch this drive."

Hokay.

David: Pelosi, in ignoring Limbuagh, did the right thing politically, really. If she had said one thing about him, it would give Rush hours of fuel on his radio program. Just like it was a mistake of President Obama to criticize Limbaugh by name.

Shaw: In regards to David's comments, I've heard Mark Levin focus almost exclusively on Nancy Pelosi's appearance to the point that he makes her a quite sympathetic figure. I think some of the Sarah Palin- bashing (where it is based on gender and appearance) does the same.

This man is a dangerous man and I will not stand behind him in any way shape or form. He is bad for this country. Rush Limbaugh was 100 percent right.

More idiocy from wingnuts.

Tell me, PL, when Afro-Americans finally got the right to vote, did they vote for all those white presidents because they were white? Did all the white people who voted for the past 43 presidents vote for them because they were white?

And this seems to have been lost on you: There aren't enough black votes in this country to get a black man or woman elected--he or she would need millions of white folks to vote for him or her.

"He is NOT qualified, he has no idea what to do, ... "

A majority of Americans disagreed with you about his qualifications. He's been praised by both Democrats and Republicans for his choices for his cabinet and the almost flawless transition. But in your cramped little uninformed world, this doesn't register.

"I am so sick of the race card."

You brought it up, pal, by stating blacks voted for Obama only because he's black. Again, your own words are confusing you.

"Listen everyone, we are all Americans. This man is a dangerous man and I will not stand behind him in any way shape or form."

Have you considered standing in front of him?

"He is bad for this country. Rush Limbaugh was 100 percent right."

And of course, Rush has such a great record of knowing what's good for this country. Except the country told him through the past two elections that he's got his head firmly planted up his prodigious arse.

Private Line, dear, are you always this silly, or did you make a special effort for me today?

dmarks said...

@shaw: "A majority of Americans disagreed with you about his qualifications"

Are you sure it is that? Are there polls to back this up or something? I would tend to think that it was his promises and presentation that were a much bigger factor than qualifications.

Patrick: David has posted the exact same post in a few places I've seen.

Lou Dobbs IS NOT an ashhole! An ashhole has a function. As is RUSH Limburger.
There are going to be a lot of racism memorabilia for these racist aholes to sell at their confederate flag flea markets.

Every time there’s real progress happening these fools believe something is being taken away from them or they believe in second-class citizens.
If making racist comments or feminist comments or anti-American comments is under the umbrella of the right to freedom of speech, then so to must be the comments questioning such speech. You can’t have it both ways, such is the life we enjoy as proud and grateful Americans.

Of course, if you want to completely ignore the facts and throw false accusations and label anything said about it as “playing the race card” — you’d probably be perfectly suited to work as a campaign surrogate for McKKKain and Stalin.

It’s time to clean house of these backward rightwing ass kkk dummies.

Shaw Kenawe, I've read your posts on other boards as well as your blog before. You generally seem like a decent guy, a bit — misguided, but decent never the less. As more and more revelations about Obama’s links to Marxists and Marxist ideology come to light, can you honestly tell me you’re comfortable with him leading this country; especially with large majorities in both houses of Congress? If so, how are you going to explain the ramifications that, in your heart, you have to know are coming, to your family and your students? In particular, how do you explain to them when the guy you support begins to “fix” the flaws in our Constitution? If, as a teacher, you aren’t frightened out of your wits by that, then I have completely and totally misjudged your character.

Obama is an empty suit who hasn’t done anything. That’s why instead of running on his record, he has to run a campaign based upon attacking McCain/Palin. Obama’s tactic has always been ‘the best defense is a good offense’. For example, Obama will make the pig/lipstick smear, just days after Palin scores points with the ‘pitbull/lipstick statement … then he disingenuously acts as if there’s no connection. He did it again with Palin’s community organizer is similar to a mayor, but with out the responsibility … which everyone knows was Palin’s response to Obama demeaning her experience as a small town mayor. There’s nothing wrong with being a community organizer, but being a community organizer is certainly not credentials for becoming President of the United States! Obama has done this, as well as playing the race card numerous times. The changes Obama wants would dramatically weaken this country, in terms of our economy and our national defense.
I absolutely refuse to support for a man that tells me I have to support him or I am a racist. Obama, you are running scared and I don't need a coward for my president.

Will you side with Obama or Rush Limbaugh?
For me it's Rush Limbaugh with out a doubt.
Maybe Obama hasn't seen the actually numbers of the previous stimulus package, but it didn't stimulate the economy. From this article it sounds like they're trying to buy the vote of the Republicans, this stimulus package has nothing in it that will help the econonmy. Handing out a check didn't nothing 6 months ago and it won't do anything this time. Will handing out a check create jobs? Maybe I'm missing something, did anything change?
Where is a single job created? All this money is going to the unemployed paid for by the employed. Thanks for showing typical democratic ineptitude.
Obama has the power to ruin us. And it looks like he is well on his way. But that is okay because the more damage he does, the easier it will be in the mid term elections to clean house, as the label of Democrat will be synonymous with failure, just as it always has been.

Yes I can honestly tell you this, because he is not a Marxist. That’s a talking point from the paranoid right.

If so, how are you going to explain the ramifications that, in your heart, you have to know are coming, to your family and your students? In particular, how do you explain to them when the guy you support begins to “fix” the flaws in our Constitution?

Please give me evidence for this claim. Not from rightwing blogs or from rightwing pundits. Please tell me when President Obama asked Congress to begin a Constitutional Convention to “fix the flaws in our Constitution.” I

Obama is an empty suit who hasn’t done anything.

He was practically unknown in this country and the world 4 years ago, he is now the President of the United States. That’s something, isn’t it? He is the embodiment of the American dream, and certainly MLK’s dream.

That’s why instead of running on his record, he has to run a campaign based upon attacking McCain/Palin.

Where have you been? That’s how political campaigns are run, by attacking your opponent and his/her stands on issues. And both McCain and Palin did it to Obama. And?

Obama’s tactic has always been ‘the best defense is a good offense’. For example, Obama will make the pig/lipstick smear, just days after Palin scores points with the ‘pitbull/lipstick statement … then he disingenuously acts as if there’s no connection. He did it again with Palin’s community organizer is similar to a mayor, but with out the responsibility … which everyone knows was Palin’s response to Obama demeaning her experience as a small town mayor.

This is just plain silly. And explains nothing, except your not understanding that politics is a rough business.

There’s nothing wrong with being a community organizer, but being a community organizer is certainly not credentials for becoming President of the United States!

Did you sleep through November 4, 2008? The American people passed judgment on your claim and they resoundingly said Obama’s credentials were plenty good enough for them. America elected him President, so please, let’s drop this canard, too.

I absolutely refuse to support for a man that tells me I have to support him or I am a racist.

If you can give me a link to a direct quote where President Obama has said this, I’ll believe you. Otherwise this is more talking out of a part of your body that shouldn’t be used for making speeches.

Obama, you are running scared and I don't need a coward for my president.

Nonsense. Obama is living in the White House with his intelligent, beautiful wife and two adorable daughters. He doesn’t look the least bit scared. Why should he? He’s the President of the United States of America, and the Democrats are in control of Congress.

Chill out, Lend an ear, he’s got this thing.

The "most powerful man in the World". "The leader of the Free World", and Commander of Chief of the most powerful amred forces in the history of Earth...wants everyone to stop listening to a radio talk show host.

Something is seriously wrong with that. Whether you like Rush or not, he is simply exercising his 1st Amendment right...gauranteed by the Constitution that Barrack swore to uphold (about three times). I guess it just goes to show you how influential Rush is with the people. Why else would O be so worried about him.

All Barrack wants to do is silence an outspoken voice that disagrees with him. Believe me...the libs are in a full court press to try and destroy ANY opposition they have. This way, in their tiny minds, there will be no one left to say "I told you so"
Well them maybe we should listen to the haters like Keith Olberman, Rachael Maddow, Ed Shultz, Alan Colms, Arrianna Huffington and the IDIOT's of the view. Oh, that's right Rush's audience is twice their's combined!
Obama's ideas are socialist and will destroy our economy.

Stop the spinning and misrepresentation. Here are Pres. Obama's EXACT words:

"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," President Obama told House Republicans during stimulus negotiations on Friday.

That is ABSOLUTELY NOT telling anyone to STOP listening to Limbaugh. If you don't understand that, then you shouldn't have passed reading in 2nd grade. Shame on your teacher!

Obama never told anyone NOT to listen to the Hindenburg of Gasbags.

Any parent understand that admonition. How many have have said the same thing to their children:

You can't JUST read comic books...

You can't JUST eat cheese curls...

You can't JUST listen to grunge rock...

You can't JUST listen to Rush Limbaugh...you should think for yourself.

Really? That's strange, since as recently as Aug. of 2008, George W. Bush called Limbaugh on the 20th anniversary of his radio show and congratulated him--his father and brother chimed in with their good will.

That makes a president, a former president, and a former US senator all acknowledging someone like Limbaugh.

All rookies?

Memo to DCCC: I don't want Obama to succeed either...
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has launched an assault against Free Speech. Make no mistake, their current 'online petition' against Rush Limbaugh is nothing but an effort to lay groundwork for resurrecting the Fairness Doctrine. But my friends, I'll say it here - and run no risk of Big Brother stifling my political speech (yet...) - I'm with Rush. I don't want President Obama to succeed. That may seem rather unpatriotic. Trust me, I'm one of the more patriotic people that I know (& I know some real red-white-&-blues). However, at this point, I believe I'm taking the most patriotic position.

Hear me...I'm not saying that I want our government to come crashing down. I'm not saying I want Mr. Obama to fail as a President in the eyes of the world, or even in the eyes of our people. What I am saying (& what Mr. Limbaugh was saying, too) is that I want his agenda to fail. Oh, how I want his agenda to fail...

I want his anti-capitalist, income-redistribution-socialist, pro-abortion, dismantle-traditional-marriage, environment-before-common-sense, foreign appeasement , terrorist-assuaging agenda to fail...and fail miserably. That would be best for our country. I desperately want what's best for our country.

There, I've said it . Enjoy your afternoon

Shaw: Paraphrasing "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," as "stop listening to Limbaugh" is quite fair, isn't it? In the context of being the most powerful man in the world, when Pres. Obama condemns something in a statement, it has weight beyond the mere words. But unlike 5 or 6 conservative commenters here, I do not see this as "proof" that Barack wants to silence Rush.

I just agree it was a mistake for Obama to mention Limbaugh by name because:

1) it personalizes it, and it would have been better if Obama had framed this more in terms of issues than personality.

2) This was a huge handoff to Limbaugh. Limbaugh has been running with this ever since. Limbaugh is spoiling for war-sof-words like this, and Obama tossed him a bone with this speech. Limbaugh benefits the most and profits the most from the current political debate being turned into "Rush vs Barack"

3) The best way to get people to stop listening to Rush is for Pres. Obama to treat him as irrelevant and not mention him by name. By mentioning Rush by name, Pres. Obama has both fired up Rush's base and kept Limbaugh in the general public eye.

There's nothing Limbaugh wants more than for Obama to attack him by name. I suspect that Pres. Obama will refrain in the future from fueling Rush's fire this way.

And let me know if you see any partisan bias in what I said here....
