General John Kelly: "He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law."

MY DESERTED CITY OF BOSTON, APRIL 19, 2013

Here's my immediate neighborhood:

Hanover Street, looking toward Commercial Street

Hanover St., looking toward the Prado

The above photos are by S.K., the following via HuffPost:

North Station and the Boston Garden in the distance

Zakim Bridge

Other shots of deserted Boston:

Longfellow Bridge to Cambridge, otherwise known as the Salt and Pepper Bridge

Beacon Street

Washington Street, Downtown Crossing

Every one of these locations would be teeming with cars and people.  Not today.

The Bruins game is cancelled and Red Sox game postponed.

A truly historic moment in Boston's history.

The massive manhunt continues.

Approximate time these photos were taken? Curiosity on my part.

It's amazing what one person can accomplish. To bad it is for evil.

Sad that this slime-bucket is still managing to disrupt so many people's lives, even if indirectly. I'm hoping it will be the last thing he ever does.

AOW, the two photos I took were taken at 3 PM.

I don't know what time the others from HuffPost were taken.

Reminds me of the Twilight Zone.

Looks like my area of San Diego when the big fires hit. It is creepy quiet and scary.

My daughter is at BU, said it was very strange to see such a ghost town!

So glad this is over now - I can feel y'all's relief all the way down here!

Yes, Les! Either an episode of The Twilight Zone or Neville Shute's On the Beach.

Sephen Vincent Benet's short story By the Waters of Babylon comes to mind too.

"Haunting and evocative" would be the standard commentary to such photos -- as indeed they are.
