Lovely photos!

I've never visited Maine. Yet, that is. Maybe some day?

Have a good weekend in what seems to be a beautiful state. Good antiquing there, or so I've heard.

Little Deer Isle was my favorite summer vacation spot. I once had a great friend who owned a lovely old house there. The air was unbelievably clean and fresh, and the water views from every window were spectacular.

My father's family, who came from Cornwall c. 1630, landed at what-later-became Peake's Island and were among the very first to settle what-was-to-become the State of Maine.

I have nothing but the most pleasant associations with Maine, except I wouldn't be caught spending the winter there if I could help it.

I have to say I envy you, Ms Shaw, because right now is the most wonderful time to enjoy Maine -- and everywhere else in New England.

Indeed Maine is a beautiful state this time of the year.

A perfect escape from the passions of partisan political bickering.
