What do you bet she runs in 2020? I wouldn't be at all surprised. The signs are there.

Not that she would get my vote. I've had enough movie stars and Tee Vee personalities.

She's about as qualified as Trump was. I wouldn't vote for her either. Fame does not translate into knowing how to run a government, as we so bitterly have experienced.

To The Maharishi:

Insults are the last resort of insecure people with a crumbling position trying to appear confident.

Well Possumlady, the above comments are from Trump supporters likely flying in from WYD. They support a POTUS that displays an the national and world stage the same character as the above commenters.

It's a tight night group those 35%'ers.

Possomlady and RN, I experimented with open commenting. But it doesn't work because it attracts too many trolls like Maharishi and impostors who steal other ppeople's names.

Back to comment moderation to keep the bottom feeders away.

At least Oprah can speak well and is more popular than tRump!

Yes, and smarter as well. In some ways.

Please, no. Enough of trying to fill the most important job in the world with a celebrity with no relevant qualifications. Yes, she'd be a lot better than Trump, but that's an awfully low bar when we're talking about the Presidency.

We do have potential candidates with relevant experience. And by 2020 the problems caused by Trump's flagrant lack of qualifications will probably have become a major election issue.

Infidel753 I'm with you and others who find this idea stupid.

She could help in some way in a Democratic administration, but she has nothing in her background that points to being a stateswoman or knowing the ins and outs of government, foreign or domestic policies. If Biden were not as old as he is, he'd be the perfect Democratic candidate.

Where's our Justin Trudeau? We do have a Kamala Harris!

In Ms winfrey's favor let me say this, she built an amazingly successful business empire essentially from scratch. Without inheriting millions of dollars or being given millions of dollars by her parents and without going broke and defrauding investors or suppliers of further millions even once. So there's that.

If it is Winfrey v Trump, I will vote Winfrey. I doubt she will run, however. Hopefully Trump won't be on the ballot in 2020 either. Because he's been convicted and imprisoned, impeached and removed, resigns, decides he made America great in one term or because he's dead. I don't care, so long as the chance of him being "elected" a second time is zero. Not that I want a president Pence...

Dervish, all the Dems have to do is remind America of the national and international embarrassment that is trump and stick him onto any Republican candidate.

I don't think he'll go any further than one term (if he even completes one). He's barely able to function now, according to the latest reports that he starts his day at 11 AM after watching FAUX NOOZ and eating his Big Mac breakfast. Whatever progress this nation is experiencing is due to factors other than trump, and probably due to most of the work Mr. Obama accomplished. Until last October, America was still operating on President Obama's budget.

I question that premise all the dems have have to do.... Democrats need to field a candidate with the ability to convince folks in red states there is good reason to vote blue. Easier said than done.

Not all of them, though. Just enough of them. The Confederate-flag-waving "GAWD hates FAY-yugs" Deliverance mutants are probably unreachable, and I see no point in trying. But there are some more educated suburbanites who voted for Trump and now regret it (hence his sinking approval rating). There are millions of people who voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012 and then voted for Trump in 2016, but are still reachable. There are young people who usually don't vote but who are incensed about the attacks on marijuana and net neutrality. We just need to turn out all those people. We don't need the hard-core knuckle-draggers.
