President Spanky Throws Another Tantrum

President Spanky blubbered and whined again about the investigation that he calls a "witch hunt" authorized by a Republican assistant attorney general who appointed a special counsel, also a Republican, and which is legal and ongoing.

#45 claimed that the FBI "raided" Trump's personal lawyer's office, seizing business records, emails, and documents, including information on Cohen's payment to Trump's porn-star mistress, Stormy Daniels. And then he went on to threaten firing Robert Mueller and Rod Rosenstein.

As usual, Trump doesn't know what the hell he's talking about, and he shows his appalling ignorance of the law and innate stupidity on how our government works.

Here's what others have to say about the torrent of gibberish and imbecility let loose by the supperating disgrace currently defiling the White House:

Richard H. Bernstein says it perfectly: "Mr. President, you are a lying sack of used food, a barrel of human toxic waste, a mendacious idiot. Nobody broke into anything -- the raids in question were pursuant to lawful warrants, and the entire procedure had to be vetted and approved at many different levels in the Justice Department and the court system. That you are throwing a tantrum about this matter shows only how guilty and inept you are."

Attorney Geoffrey Berman was appointed by Trump:

"Geoffrey Berman, currently serving as Interim United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York had to sign off on the warrants. He's a Trump appointee. How's that a witch hunt exactly? Mueller found evidence outside of his purview. He turned it over to the appropriate authorities. MANY hoops had to be jumped through to get these warrants approved. This isn't an attack on our country. It's an attack on the corrupt bastards that are abusing their power trying to undermine our country for their own gain. Trump is quite simply outsmarted and outgunned legally. There are no facts backing up his bullshit finger pointing."

Senator Chuck Schumer:

"Special Counsel Mueller, a Republican, has uncovered a deep and detailed pattern of Russian inteference in our elections that has led to indictments and guilty pleas. It has also led to the Trump administration itself leveling sanctions against Russian individuals for meddling in our elections, proof that it's not a so-called "witch hunt."

And let's not forget the law suit against America's Con Artist-in-Chief:  His fake Trump University:

Judge finalizes $25 million settlement for 'victims of Donald Trump's fraudulent university'

A federal judge in the Southern District of California on Monday finalized a $25 million settlement to be paid to attendees of the now-defunct real estate seminar called Trump University. Judge Gonzalo Curiel's decision came after an appeals court rejected arguments from a Florida woman who attended Trump University and said she wanted to pursue a separate lawsuit. New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman called the settlement a victory for Trump U. "victims."

"In his stream of vitriol, he managed to mention Hillary Clinton a couple of times and the "harrible things" she has done. What are those things, again?

At one point Trump tells the press, "It's an attack on our country, in a true sense. It's an attack on what we all stand for." No one apparently had the heart to tell him that the attack on our country took place in 2016 and helped him into the situation he is in now, where he can loot the government before he is perp-walked off into the distance.

He had some anger for Jefferson Beauregard Sessions, III, too, returning to his usual rant about how he would never have appointed him if he knew Sessions would recuse himself, etc. etc. etc.

Shortly after I cut this clip, he returns again to Hillary and her "33,000 emails" she deleted. Apparently he has forgotten -- as old bitter Republican men do -- that Hillary has no power, is not elected, is not sitting in the Oval Office or the Situation Room. It doesn't matter, as long as he can deflect onto her as the convenient scapegoat.

When they lead him away in handcuffs, he will still be whining about her emails. You will hear his voice trailing off in the distance -- 33,000 EMaaaaaaaiiiiilllls."

He might as well settle into the fact that he will be investigated his entire term and -H- will escape without any action. Mueller has turned this from investigating Russian interference to investigating all things Trump. Can you picture the outrage if they had a special investigator dealing with all things -H-. By djt bringing -H- into the conversation he just keeps her name relevant and her blame tour can continue.

There is a big flap about violation of attorney/client privilege when, in fact, if the attorney committed crimes in representing the client the privilege is void.
There are all kinds of questions around Cohen including bank fraud to expedite Russian money laundering (those pesky oligarchs again) but that dipstick, Lord Dampnut, greased the skids when he (undoubtedly without advice of counsel) said he knew nothing of Cohen's payout to Stormy Daniels.

Meanwhile let's remember how dangerous he is as he poses with his new consigliere, John "Bullethead" Bolton, and plans a new war to get everyone to forget all this Russia stuff. Bolton's the man with a plan.

Meanwhile:
"President Donald Trump’s homeland security adviser, Tom Bossert, will resign at the request of new National Security Adviser John Bolton, a person familiar with the matter said."

Shaw... as the righties get their knickers in a wad over Mueller, let's step a moment to consider this...

This latest turn of events, the FBI raid of Cohen's office, was conducted at the order of a Trump appointed US Attorney and was approved by a trump appointed US Judge.

These guys are not beholden to politics like congress, so the system worked!

The checks and balances that the founders of the US set in place to ensure our democracy worked. The system that was designed to keep a president such as Trump within constitutional guardrails. It was set in place in the event a feckless congress chooses not, for political reasons, to rein in a president who is operating outside of constitutional norms, such as Trump.

Years ago people complained that black leaders were forcing America to move past civil rights leaders way too fast. Inherent in their argument was the belief that yes, racism might be bad and even illegal, but "too much change too fast can be disruptive and should be avoided. Of course the judicial branch saw through that and applied the law to force an end to Jim Crow laws and mostly segregationist policies supported by conservatives back then. The law was the law and then, as now, the judicial branch worked, setting in motion the founder's system of checks and balances.

Fire Mueller is the cry. This is an outrage is what we are hearing about the Cohen affair. So yes, Trump may well fire Mueller and use this as his cloak, but it will not affect what is going to happen to Cohen, because these charges are being proffered independent of Mueller.

As some have said... we are certainly in interesting and maybe even uncharted times right now. Will we soon see the start of a Pence/Haley Admin as the GOP grows a spine? Will the party soon choose to throw Trump off the bus to save their own skin?

Only the shadow knows...

Were you so vocal when this same sort of endless investigations went after the Clintons and eventually led to his impeachment because of lying about sex with a woman. Karma's a bitch, innit?

Hillary has been investigated for 30 years. So far, no indictments, even though this hasn't penetrated the think skulls of certain Clinton haters.

Dave Miller said...

Skud... as Shaw has so rightly pointed out, this was the GOP strategy with the Clinton Admin. You remember that don't you? That was when the GOP believed lying was a moral failure and disqualified you from being able to serve in government. Back when moral failings showed beyond a shadow of a doubt that you could not ably serve your country if you did not live up to certain set of morals.

Skud, do you remember during the campaign when it was the GOP who said if Hillary was elected they'd be investigating for "her entire term?"

Why does the reality of Trump being investigated trouble you? Is it maybe because he said during the campaign that "someone under FBI investigation" cannot possibly serve effectively?

Come on man... you can't possibly be the guy who thinks that all the people who have the goods on HRC have been murdered by the Clinton Crime Syndicate in service to the "Deep State" can you?

Are folks still talking about those silly Clinton emails again? Seriously? When taxpayers just finished paying $7 million on 33 hearings that spanned four years for what? Each and every report cleared her of any wrongdoing...

Come back when tRump has been investigated for four years and maybe we'll talk...

If you want to read something hilarious. Rick Wilson writing about Cohen in the Daily Beast.

skudrunner said...

Rev, all I said is djt needs to accept that he will be investigated his whole term. BJC was actually found guilty but we are not talking about BJC.
The media and the liberals cannot get over that their darling was defeated by a yellow haired egomaniac so the beat will go on.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Jeebus, Mary, and Joe Pepitone, Kevin!

This is from the link to the Daily Beast piece written by Rick lWilson:

Then the FBI came knocking. Imagine that moment, when he realized that they were going to raid his office, home, and hotel room. It was one thing for Cohen to pay Stormy’s $135,000 hush-money payment from his home-equity loan. “Happens all the time!” “Common practice!” “Trump never even met her, I’m just really generous!” (For you Trump readers, that’s called sarcasm.)

It’s quite another when the most experienced and determined federal prosecutors are giving you an investigative colonoscopy. If you think for one moment there’s nothing dodgy and damaging against Trump in the files of Cohen, think again.

Suddenly, Michael Cohen, the bag-walking, dick-swinging swagger-monkey wannabe thug attorney and consigliere for Donald Trump’s far-flung penile enterprises is scared. If Cohen had a lump of coal in his ass the moment those search warrants arrived, he could have popped out a diamond. He realizes how deep this hole can become if he doesn’t roll over. He doesn’t have the resources to defend himself, and Trump isn’t exactly known for paying his bills in the first place. Cohen is scared, and he’s not alone

Rick Wilson is a Republican!

Ex President Bill Clinton was impeached by the House of Representatives. The Senate did NOT find him guilty and therefore he was not removed from office.

The fact HRC lost has absolutely nothing to do with the Mueller investigation or the twists and turns the investigation has taken.

Our system is working exactly as our founders intended skudrunner.

Dave Miller said...

RN... exactly. And if Trump is not guilty, he has nothing to fear does he? At least that's what we've heard for years from conservatives when minorities are stopped for no reason, jailed on "trumped" up charges and incarcerated because juries do in fact convict innocent people.

I find it very interesting that when a conservative, or someone they like, like Trump, suddenly they realize maybe, just maybe, that sometimes the system will cream an innocent person, or people who are not guilty can get railroaded.

One thing you can be sure of, and we've seen it in the Nixon case... the government, when powerful Republicans are investigated, tried and convicted is guilty of witch hunts and the targeting of innocent people. But if it is a poor person, or a person of color, the law would not be looking at the person unless he was guilty or a thug.

Why the double standard?

Infidel753 said...

Dave Miller makes a very good point. Trump exemplifies the Founders' worst nightmare of a power-hungry morally-blind egomaniac occupying the Presidency -- with foreign help, yet -- and the Republicans who dominate Congress are mostly abject cowards. It may be the greatest challenge to our Constitutional system since the Civil War. But thanks to the independence of the judicial branch, the system is working as intended, at least so far.

There is actually some reassurance in this. In 1933 the Weimar Republic's system of government was less than 15 years old and had little popular legitimacy because it had been imposed by the hated foreign powers that won World War I. Our system has almost a quarter millennium of stable existence backing up its legitimacy. These things matter.

The media and the liberals cannot get over that their darling was defeated by a yellow haired egomaniac

Putin is certainly an egomaniac, but as best as I can recall, he isn't blond.

skudrunner said...

So the investigation was about Russia and now it is about paying a porn star. You really don't think that is a stretch no matter who is involved.
If this was done to Mills there would be a uproar so loud it would be deafening.

Your right Rev there is a double standard but are you saying all of the action against people of color is justified because they are guilty or a thug. I am surprised at you callousness.

Well, this is it Mueller has lowered the boom. The orange SOB is going to be frog walked for money laundering

Shaw Kenawe said...

skud, I don't know if you really don't understand the parameters of the Mueller probe or if you're being deliberately obtuse. You should read up on what the American Bar Association describes regarding what the special counsel is authorized to do. It's NOT some Deep State plot to overthrow Trump, it is legally mandated, and it is Trump himself and his corrupt associates who've put his administration in legal peril.

The rest of your comment doesn't make any sense. Who is "Mills?"

Shaw Kenawe said...

HERE'S THE ABA ON THE MUELLER PROBE.

Kevin Robbins said...

"It's an attack on our country, in a true sense. It's an attack on what we all stand for."

"L'etat, c'est moi."

Does it make any difference that the raids were approved by Rosenstein who was appointed by Trump and an attorney in NY southern district appointed by Sessions? Not to those who take Trump seriously when he says "they broke into the office of one of my personal attorneys, a good man."

Shaw Kenawe said...

Kevin, Trump is the least informed and probably most corrupt person to ever sit in the Oval Office in my lifetime -- and that includes Nixon and Reagan.

President Spanky is under the impression that the DoJ is there to protect him and not the Constitution from corrupt bullies like him.

This is the result of people who are easily duped and who decide to abandon their scruples and vote for an immoral pig and crook in order to get a tax cut.

Dave Miller said...

Skud maybe I was not clear... what you took to be my words are I believe, what would best explain the conservative belief.

So Sorry Possumlady, I didn't catch the spelling this morning when I looked at my Comment Moderation folder. That's an impostor and it's probably an impostor from that notorious blog WYD, it seethes with cranks and cowards who steal people's avatars and blog names. It's a GOP dung heap and one of its GOP members has stolen your name. The one thing that proves it's a WYD troll is its inability to know how to spell.

I should have been more alert. I'll take it down.

Shaw, FYI Mills was -H- personal attorney and what does having sex with a porn star while he was a candidate have to do with corruption. Did it happen while in office or in the oval office.

I don't have a clue what the deep state is but there is mass hysteria among all things liberal and media to make djt pay for defeating she who should be president. The media doesn't really care what positive things the current administration has accomplished with NK, China Trade, Tax Cuts for the Middle Class, Getting rid of the obamacare penalties and making health insurance more individual driven, needless regulations, supporting small business instead of targeting it. It is yet to be seen if he asks russia to intervene in the syria situation like his predecessor

Unfortunately djt made several catastrophic mistakes, being a slime ball then defeating the clinton's at their own game of lying and deceit, announcing everything on twitter and attacking everyone who attacks him, a normal human emotion.
He is a one term president and owes no one so the next couple of years will be interesting. The talk about impeachment is just talk. Yes a lot of people will go down but there is little will in impeaching a sitting president as we saw with BJC.

skud: "...what does having sex with a porn star while he was a candidate have to do with corruption. Did it happen while in office or in the oval office."

I've listened to attorneys who know this stuff explain that it was the money Trump's lawyer paid to Stormy to keep her mouth shut that is the problem. And apparently she wasn't the only one Trump had to pay off. He had as many, if not more, bimbo eruptions than Bill C. Certain right wingers believe it doesn't matter because he wasn't president at the time. That's called situational morality. It's to pervade the GOP these days. Trump cheated people out of money with his fake university, but he wasn't president at the time, so it's okay with the family values Republicans, and he wasn't in the Oval Office when he was shagging porn stars, Playmates, and pole dancers, so it's all good, according to the family value Goopers.

The president isn't being investigated for his satyriastic behavior, he's being investigated for possible obstruction of justice, money laundering, accepting foreign money for his campaign, and conspiring with a foreign country to win the presidency.

You have no idea who he owes. None. But I bet Mr. Mueller does.

What happened to djt's lawyer this week is very, very unusual. The Feds must have very strong case on Cohen in order for them to have done what they did.

No matter how much the Trumpistas try to convince themselves, this isn't the establishmebnt trying to undo an election it didn't like, this is the rule of law playing out and looking at possibly the most corrupt man to sit in the Oval Office in our lifetimes.

The Goopers are lying to themselves when they claim it's the establishment trying to take out Trump. It's actually the rule of law. And we have to decide which is more important to America: Allegiance to a political party and president or the rule of law.

I know where I stand.
