Brutish Trump Regime Separates Children From Their Parents

Can you think of a more barbarous treatment than ripping children from their families and putting them in detention camps? That treatment is the very definition of state terrorism -- separating children from their families.

That's what the Trump regime is doing. Right now. In America.

And his supporters are fine with it.

via Daily Kos:\

In one of several misleading tweets during the holiday weekend, Trump pushed Democrats to change a “horrible law” that the president said mandated separating children from parents who enter the country illegally.

But there is no law specifically requiring the government to take such action, and it’s also the policies of his own administration that have caused the family separation that advocacy groups and Democrats say is a crisis. Some might call “misleading” a “lie,” and in this case the lie is Trump trying to pin barbaric actions on a nonexistent law.

This policy of taking children away from their parents and then rubbing salt on the wounds by prosecuting them is the creation of the Trump administration, and absolutely no one else despite his frantic tweeting.

As he detailed the “zero-tolerance” policy during a pair of appearances May 7, Attorney General Jeff Sessions stressed:

“If you don’t want your child separated, then don’t bring them across the border illegally. It’s not our fault that somebody does that.” “My decision has been that anyone who breaks the law will be prosecuted,”

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said in Senate testimony earlier this month. “If you’re a parent, or you’re a single person, or you happen to have a family, if you cross between the ports of entry, we will refer you for prosecution. You’ve broken U.S. law.”

Fact check: the administration is also separating families who have followed U.S. law by seeking asylum at U.S. ports of entry. One asylum-seeker identified as “Mr. U” entered with his 13-year-old son at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, only to be detained in California as his son was shipped off to Illinois.

“All I can remember is how much my son and I were both crying when they took him away,”

Maybe you should blame the real people responsible and that would be congress. How many decades has immigration reform been discussed with nothing being done.
Lets blame trump for DACA as well because he is the one who created the temporary order that was never acted on or was that the previous president who did that.

Here are the words of President Trump...

" [We... the GOP need to] put pressure on the Democrats to end the horrible law that separates children from their parents,” “we MUST continue building the WALL!” [Democrats] “open borders policies, lead to the temporary separation of illegal alien families” and “spread human suffering.”

So, on one hand he recognizes that this policy is a "horrible law" that will "spread human suffering", yet he refuses to acknowledge that his admin is the very group that made the decision to act like this. And he also refuses to alter the policy, most likely because to do so would make him look weak.

He reminds me so much of the two faced mayor on the "Nightmare before Christmas." When he wanted to be nice, his head spun to happy mayor. When he wanted to evil, his head spun to the terrible face.

Rev, I do understand that laws should not be enforced and it would be easier to just ignore them or extend the action rather than bring it to a head. It has been so successful with many other issues facing the US so why not this one.
Why do you and others not demand action from Congress to develop a permanent solution instead of pushing it forward forever. This is not a democrat or republican issue but a US issue and we should expect our elected elite to do their job. There are probably two of them who will try to do what is best, the rest are to busy taking money from Lobbyists to give a Sh__ but we seem to be fine with that.

Well Skud, we had two Bi Partisan deals the last few years and the GOP scuttled them both. First was the Gang of 8, working together, across party lines. But the GOP would not accept the deal. Then Pres Trump and Democratic leadership cut a deal that included... wait for it, funding for the wall, but the GOP and Trump scuttled that.

The Dems would like to get a deal that a majority of Americans would support and the fact is there are enough votes right now in Congress to pass that legislation on a bi-partisan basis. Sadly, the GOP leadership will not bring and comprehensive legislation to the floor for a vote.

You are right about one thing... lobbyists have made this a too hot to handle issue.

Like I said Rev, takes both sides and when the dems had an overwhelming majority why didn't they address immigration reform. I would assume the healthcare lobbyists paid more.
