President Spanky Gets It Wrong Again

TRUMP SAYS OBAMA ADMINISTRATION FAILED TO FREE THREE AMERICAN HOSTAGES HELD IN NORTH KOREA

That's false.

Two were detained after Trump took office.

PRESIDENT TRUMP SAID

As everybody is aware, the past Administration has long been asking for three hostages to be released from a North Korean Labor camp, but to no avail. Stay tuned!
False.
Of the three Americans currently known to be held in North Korea, two were arrested after Mr. Trump took office — meaning the Obama administration would not have sought their release.
Kim Hak-song was arrested on May 6, 2017. He worked at Pyongyang University of Science and Technology, a university founded by American evangelical scholars.
Tony Kim, also known as Kim Sang-duk, was detained on April 22, 2017. He taught at the same university in Pyongyang for a month.

The third hostage — Kim Dong-chul — has been held in North Korea since October 2015. He is the only one of the three who was detained during the Obama administration.

But, after all, #45 is a lazy, sloppy-thinking man who cares nothing about facts, accuracy, or truth; he cares only about keeping his supporters in a fog of lies, misrepresentations, and fake promises, a hallmark of what scam artists engage in. #45 is good at this, and his supporters are too willing to be duped to understand the con.

As anticipated, another. There isn't a day that goes by w/out a tRump SNAFU. As his 30 something %'ers continue to happily give him another pass.

Is he being willfully wrong, woefully uninformed, struggling to differentiate between as Giuliani said, between fact and opinion, or is he just pandering to the Mothership crowd who are convinced Trump is an answer to the prayers and that Pres Obama was/is "evil and anti American and maybe the biggest megalomaniac ever"?

We really are living in parallel universes where facts and truth do not matter if they collide with your preconceived ideas that Trump is a gift to save America.

MAGA indeed...

As if two years ago we weren't a great country.

Or is this a planned mistake to keep him front and center in the news. Throughout the election, primaries and general, he dominated the news and because of his statements -H- had to spend time defending herself not promoting herself. After his election MSNBC has converted to the all hate trump all the time network and every national news cast spends at least 25% of their broadcast bashing trump. He has stated all press coverage is good coverage so perhaps this is planned.
How much press would he get if he just did his job. Press coverage, positive or negative, is a large part of why he won. I do disagree with the Rev because even though BHO was a megalomaniac his worst quality was his disregard for the average middle class American and attitude of America is not exceptional.

Iran deal is dead along with Obamacare...its like Obama was never here

Shaw Kenawe said...

First off, Anon, Obamacare is not dead. Your belief that it is only reinforces the fact that most of #45's followers, like President Spanky himself, know doodley squat about domestic or foreign policies.

Also, Anon, when #45 is long gone, the next Democratic president can wipe out all the damage this Russia-bot has done to America and her allies. He's doing to the country what he did when he cheated on Melania with his porn star and Playboy bunny.

But the good people of this country will have the last say in this. Count on it.

Dave Miller said...

Anon... that does seem to have been the desire of the Trump Admin. That was to be expected by a man who was openly racist in his views that Barack Obama was not qualified to be president solely on place of birth. It was to be expected of someone who believed, in spite of all evidence, that this specific black man did not have a right to be president. It was to be expected from someone who had to first mount and publicize a racist campaign to incorrectly claim that Obama was not born in the US.

If someone believes that type of racist claptrap, of course they would want to obliterate that mans accomplishments from the history books.

That is after all, what racists do. They can't allow people of color to have accomplishments, because that keeps them from knowing their place.

BTW... the SCOTUS ruled this week that Obamacare is not dead. In spite of the efforts of a racist president and the GOP, people with preexisting conditions can still get somewhat affordable insurance. In spite of those efforts, white coal miners in Appalachia dying of black lung disease, can still get and pass on benefits to their surviving spouses.

Both of those requirements are part of the Obama inspired ACA. The GOP, conservatives and Pres Trump want to take those benefits away from people.

Why is that?

Well Skud... you're wrong again. Pres Obama has been pretty eloquent in his support or and belief in American Exceptionalism.

“I believe in American exceptionalism with every fiber of my being.” US Military Academy in 2014.

"I believe in American exceptionalism, just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism. I’m enormously proud of my country and its role and history in the world. If you think about the site of this summit and what it means, I don’t think America should be embarrassed to see evidence of the sacrifices of our troops, the enormous amount of resources that were put into Europe postwar, and our leadership in crafting an Alliance that ultimately led to the unification of Europe. We should take great pride in that.

And if you think of our current situation, the United States remains the largest economy in the world. We have unmatched military capability. And I think that we have a core set of values that are enshrined in our Constitution, in our body of law, in our democratic practices, in our belief in free speech and equality, that, though imperfect, are exceptional.

Now, the fact that I am very proud of my country and I think that we’ve got a whole lot to offer the world does not lessen my interest in recognizing the value and wonderful qualities of other countries, or recognizing that we’re not always going to be right, or that other people may have good ideas, or that in order for us to work collectively, all parties have to compromise and that includes us.

And so I see no contradiction between believing that America has a continued extraordinary role in leading the world towards peace and prosperity and recognizing that that leadership is incumbent, depends on, our ability to create partnerships because we create partnerships because we can’t solve these problems alone." At the G20 summit in 2009.

"A lot of people talk about American exceptionalism. I’m a firm believer in American exceptionalism. You know why I am? It’s because we don’t run and hide when there’s a problem…." In West Africa in 2014.

Where do you and other conservatives get the idea that Pres Obama did not and does not believe in American Exceptionalism?

Dave Miller said...

Skud... anyone who views Pres Obama as a megalomaniac is not credible. That's just such an over the top viewpoint that it, and by extension, you, cannot be taken seriously.

Speaking of Russia-bots:

A consulting firm owned by Michael Cohen, an attorney for President Donald Trump, reportedly received payments totaling about $500,000 from the U.S. affiliate of a Russian billionaire’s company.

The payments were first reported by porn actress Stormy Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti, who said Tuesday his legal firm had uncovered the transactions. The New York Times later reported on the payments based on interviews and an internal review of financial records. The Daily Beast also said it could confirm Avenatti’s claims, citing an anonymous source.

I wonder how export oriented Germany is going to react to Lord Dampnut trying to get them to cut trade with Iran, President Dimbulb is encouraging the EU to go it alone.

Dave asked Skudrunner: "Where do you and other conservatives get the idea that Pres Obama did not and does not believe in American Exceptionalism?"

They get it from listening to each other's racist take-downs of President Obama. They do not live in the real world with facts and documented speeches by Obama. They listen to FAUX NOOZ and other Obama-hating bloggers who spread rumors, lies, and slander about the former president and First Lady. The historic record, however, will destroy their lies. And Trump will be noted as a miserable stain on America's reputation.

His supporters come here and are positively giddy about Trump's approval ratings in the low 40s! That means 60% of America destests him and his misleardship. Imagine how pathetic they must be to be happy about an anemic 42% approval! Poor deluded trogs!

You must bring racism into the discussion because that is what liberals do when they don't have answers. I guess you are a racist because you don't like people with orange hair.

Skud... of course you’re wrong again. Either because you’re uninformed, don’t understand the English language or are willfully choosing to ignore facts.

You mentioned the “apology tour in Egypt.”

I assume you’re talking about Pres Obama. I’ll ask you the same thing I asked folks at the Mothership before I was banned for not being sufficiently anti-Obama.

Did Obama say America was sorry? Did Obama say America apologizes for a specific action in that speech? If you think he did, bring the quote.

If you want to see what it looks like when America apologizes, look up Prez Reagan and his words to the survivors of The Japanese internment camps.

That was an apology, and 20k, that Americs offered.

Les Carpenter said...

What Dave said skud.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Skud, my friend, you apparently don't know what an apology is. President Obama acknowledged a fact, he didn't apologize. The far right wingnuts can't let this go because they too believe America can do no wrong. That's arrogance of the first degree, and it's why they continue to support the arrogant bully, Trump.

President Obama is respected around the world and here in America. The GOP preznit is not. And I will not apologize for stating that fact.

To Skudrunner:

These are direct quotes from President Obama:

Anyone who can't acknowledge that their country makes mistakes is a unrepetant jingoist who believes in magical unicorns.
