Think about what President Spanky said about Constitutionally protected speech.

“You have to stand proudly for the national anthem or you shouldn’t be playing, you shouldn’t be there. Maybe you shouldn’t be in the country.” --Trump

I know that the NFL is a private corporation (that also receives subsidies from US taxpayers, so they are federally subsidized). I understand that players have to conform to the rules and regs of what the team owners set out in the players' contracts.

But I didn't know that the American people would be dumb enough to vote for a POTUS who suggests that Americans who protest an injustice should be thrown out of their own country. I expect to hear those anti-American words from Communist dictators, authoritarians, and strongmen. But those words came out of the mouth of a man who knows nothing about being an American  or what makes America great.

New NFL Policy Requires All Players To Honor Patriotic Spirit Of Subservience That American Flag Represents

Trump makes America cringe everytime he opens his ignorant maw.

You didn't know? Then like most idiot Americans you were not listening to Trump for the last 40 years. He made it very clear.

Anonymous, you don't know how to read. I didn't vote for Trump, my comment was directed at the chumps who did. I didn't know so many Americans were so stupidly gullible and could vote for a liar, cheat, and con man.

Also, I never listened to what Trump had to say before he made his bid for the presidency. Why would anyone with a functioning brain listen to his clap-trap twaddle?

tRump MAGA as he insidiously works to take away from us our constitutionally protected rights of free political speech and the right to protest inequities and injustice.

If tRump prevails our best years will most definitely be behind us as our democratic republic is dismantled and authoritarian government by people and religion replaces it.

RN, sadly true. What is wrong with his supporters. How can they not see how dangerous Trump is to our democracy? Everyone else around the world does. What is wrong with them????

I believe many, perhaps most of us, real Americans know and understand what drives and motivates them. However I will leave it to someone else to name it.

NFL players are the latest millionaire victims we should pity. The line is getting very long but at least they didn't accuse the league of victimizing them 40 years ago.
In your world you should just be able to do whatever you want regardless of the law or your employer. Maybe Starbucks should cancel their training today because their employee only did what she wanted.
You seem to lose fat that the millionaire players work for someone who wants them to honor their country. Amazing what one has been player can do to try to be relevant and how many victims follow his lead.

skud, you have zerio understanding of what "taking a knee" is about. It was never about the players. Ever. Plus you ignore the fact that the billionaire NFL owners take taxpayers' money to build their stadia and for other things that make them even more wealthy than they already are. The NFL takes local, state, and federal dollars, therefore, they are supported by taxpayers like the NFL players who are protesting the inhumane treatement of African-Americans who are being killed while black. Do some research and find out the truth.

Ms Shaw, That was a great response. The mixed race multi millionaire was benched and instead of working to get his position back he decided to protest the sport who made him wealthy. He is trying to remain relevant because he was a one hit wonder and now he can blame the league and the country for hi lack of talent.
Some players work in their communities which is where they can make the difference. Others are to busy snorting drugs and beating their wife's and girlfriends but I am glad you are standing with them.

Christ your schtick is growing old skud. But hey, so is tRumps.

I don't mean any disrespect to you but is RN and JC the same person because all they have to offer is slinging arrows. Any meaningful input or pointing out what I said was wrong?

I merely made an observation skud, one I suspect many share. I expressed an opinion, nothing more, nothing less. Everyone can decide what they will for themselves.

What amazes me skud, and I mean no disrespect, is you seldom, if ever back up your generalized claims with a link to credible sources. You are not alone in that, I sometimes fail to link to my sources too when I comment.

One last note, I assure you Jerry Critter (JC) and me are two distinct individuals.

Carry on skud...
