I don't think Trump understands what lies ahead for him with this new Congress and Speaker Pelosi:
Pres. Trump never served in elected office until 2017. His interactions with Congress have so far included signing ceremonies, a gift of Starbursts, and leaders who remain wary of angering him or his core voters and therefore praise him, at least publicly.
Today, that changes.

Re the shutdown and tRump's vanity:
After Democrats explained their plan to pass measures funding the government -- including the Department of Homeland Security -- at least temporarily as negotiations continued, Schumer repeatedly asked Trump why he opposed that approach, the person familiar with the exchange said.
Eventually Schumer asked a third time for one reason Trump wouldn't accept the offer, and Trump responded: "I would look foolish if I did that."
tRump needs to keep the government shut down to soothe his vanity? What an assh*le!
Now we can watch the government grind to a halt. This is a good thing because the only thing congress is good at is protecting their job, making personal millions while screwing the American taxpayer. Looking forward to a prolonged shut down.
RC, Why is it that the democrats oppose protecting our borders, keeping illegals out and enforcing our laws. I realize they do not want to give the republicans a win but maybe for once both sides can do what is right for us.

And this is something to be proud of?? No wonder so many folks dislike Pelosi. Folks who are of the described character will turn on you as quickly as tRump. I personally worked with and managed folks like that.
It's great if you're at war and need to draw first blood and then dismember the enemy. Is that what this nation has come to? From my vantage point is sure as hell seems so.
RN, that's hyperbole which I believe means that Nancy Pelosi is a tough cookie who will frustrate or stop Trump without his ever knowing what hit him. Trump has never had Congress push back on him. He's rejected a compromise on the wall. A compromise that Republicans were on board with. Trump will not negotiate on this. The Dems were willing to compromise. Trump said NO! We need someone like Pelosi to set Trump straight.

That my be so Shaw, however, it is NEITHER useful NOR is it professional. Period. I'm sure you disagree BUT, principle matters. Even when one is a democrat.
Trump is a thug. You don't beat a thug by being nice. The House Republicans never stood up to Trump because they're sniveling cowards who didn't dare cross his knuckle-dragging voters. Time to try a different approach. We need a Churchill, not a Chamberlain. Pelosi will fight, and knows how to win.

Correct. You beat a thug by being right, consistent, and brutal in pressing issues with verifiable facts. At the end of the day most folks respond positively to truth and reason. Except the 30% of tRumpers who will, regardless of whatever tRump does, continue to support him.

Ducky, The 30 percenters focus their rage on this delightful young Congresswoman because she's everything the current GOP is NOT: well educated, bright, female, and a woman of color.
Meanwhile, their demented hero, President Porn Star Shagger, is doing to government workers what he's done all his life to people who've worked for him: He's stiffing them. What does he care? A guy who sits on a golden toilet is worried about people who depend on a paycheck to stay afloat?
We should never let the 30 percenters forget that they continue to support a "president" who's under investigation, whose closest allies -- personal lawyer, campaign manager, NSA appointee -- all convicted of felonies.
And let's not forget that President Bone Spurs is so crooked, so corrupt that New York state forbids him and his children from ever heading up a charity foundation. Trump Foundation was shut down; Trump University, shut down and fined $25 million for scamming the public.
My question is how do the fine upstanding Evangelicals on the right square this?
AFAIK, AO-C hasn't been accused of any corruption or scamming, yet the 30 percenters go after her and accept Trump's lies and criminality.
O-C probably steamed off the Evangelicals by showing she can let her hair down, bust a few moves and just plain have fun.
How unseemly for a politician. I imagine they think she should be busy working her next grift like their hero.
