THIS TWEET BY STEVE SCHMIDT DESCRIBES THE CURRENT GOP AND THEIR SLAVISH DEVOTION TO THEIR CORRUPT PRESIDENT

Via Democratic Underground:

Earlier today you attacked the patriotism and assaulted the integrity of a combat wounded US Army Infantry officer. You did it, because for you, there is no higher cause than Trump; not the truth, or decency, not the country and certainly not the US Constitution.

2.This is the oath the Lt. Col Vindman took.“ I do solemnly swear I will support the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without mental reservation

And that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office about which I am about to enter. So help me God.” The Purple ribbon on his uniform denotes an award of the Purple Heart. The blue badge above the ribbons is an award of the Combat Infantry Badge.

Below his ribbons are his Ranger tab and Airborne wings. Your attack doesn’t raise questions about his fidelity to America, our Republic, and Constitution but it sure says something about yours and the band or smear merchants for whom no indecency, lie , slander or debasement

is too much when it comes to defending Trump. Slavish Devotion to the leader at all costs is what matters for all of you now. In America we take our Oaths and make our obligations to the Constitution and country not shambolic and debased cults of personality. Shame on you

Everyone should have their hat's off and be saluting Steve Schmidt. Stering truth spoken by an upstanding American Patriot.

There is NO low deep enough for the right wing. They've more than proven themselves to be total and utter hypocrites, mewling sycophants and without even a modicum of good sense. The entire bunch of them wouldn't have the brain power to figure out toilet paper without instructions. Attacking the decorated combat veteran to protect a slime ball coward like Private Bonespurs is yet more proof that the right is immoral, unethical and deserves to be relegated to the fringe where they belong.

RN, As I know you know, Steve Schmidt is Republican. Y'know the kind that puts country above party and corrupt POTUS.

BlueBull, my sentiments exactly. It's a mystery to all sane Americans why the 30 percenters still support an obviously corrupt and criminal POTUS and his administration.

WHAT A SURPRISE that Trump supporters are using Alexander Vindman's heritage to try to smear him. It should be mentioned that Vindman is a Jewish refugee from Ukraine who moved to Brighton Beach as a child before earning a Purple Heart in Iraq. But that hasn't stopped the likes of Laura Ingraham, John Yoo and Brian Kilmeade from suggesting that Vindman may be more loyal to Ukraine than to our own country.

The most powerful response I've seen to that sort of ugliness has come from Dan Shapiro, who tweeted that he -- a Jewish American -- was the U.S. ambassador to Israel during the Obama administration. "We had an Indian-American ambassador to India, a Chinese-American ambassador to China, a Korean-American ambassador to Korea, and more. I thought we were past contemptible dual-loyalty charges." My lawyer-rabbi friend Jonathan Zasloff, who posted Shapiro's tweet, also has a message to Trump's allies in the Jewish community. "Dear right-wing Jews," he writes: "You're not just suckers. You're next."

I think a good example of the anti-Semitic views in the GOP are what was recently posted on Freethinke's site regarding the apostasy of American Jews. Along with his comments across the usual sites, mostly unanswered by the rest of that community, it's easy to see where these views come from.

The attacks on Vindman, simply for having a different view from his president, have been breathtaking. Questioning his loyalty, his heritage, whether he's a spy and more are the types of responses you'd expect to see in a country run by a tin pot dictator.

Donald Trump needs to vacate 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for nothing else than to restore dignity and professionalism to the office and our foreign policy.

What kind of government works when no dissent, or alternate viewpoint allowed. We are in dangerous waters right now.

Will the GOP step up?

Dave, "Will the GOP step up?"

Many have, but Trump's core support, "The Base" will not because as I've stated again and again, they are CULTISTS. Read up on what makes a cultist. They fit the description perfectly. They have shown again and again that they are loyal to a corrupt and morally diseased man and not to America.

Now we have this...

A Republican congressman [Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.)] on Wednesday confirmed Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman told impeachment investigators that at least two portions of the July phone call between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky were omitted from the summary of the conversation released by the White House.

“Yeah, he testified that in two occasions the ellipses, the dot-dot-dot, should have been some words,” Perry (R-Pa.) said.

So here we have a GOP Congressman saying that President Trump lied to the American people when he said the transcript of the call, which said at the bottom that it was not a verbatim transcription, was in fact an "exact transcript."

All of this stuff, like most everything else that comes out of Trump's mouth, is so easily verifiable and provably wrong.

Why does it keep happening? And, what happens when President Trump has to tell the truth? Who will believe him?

His lawyers were smart to keep him from testifying... he's fundamentally unable to tell the truth.

The talking heads are consumed with comparing Nixon's impeachment with that of Trump. It is true that Nixon had an enemies list, but Trump has a sycophant and family list- all others are the enemy. It is also true that Nixon turned the white house sort of gray, but Trump has turned it into the national sleaze shack. Thus far the comparison contrasts with the admittedly smart Nixon's followers putting country ahead of party, while the clueless braggart keeps his is a weird hypnotic
grovelers buying his childish gibberish..and his tasteless line of hats and t-shirts. Interesting times....

He must be so confused that he can't do as he pleases without serious backlash.
But rather than feeling the walls closing in the stooge probably thinks he can keep yelling, "fake news" and continue on with his foreign policy in shambles and the economy starting to crack. Only the hardest hard core will stand by him.

BB-Idaho, Today, the impeachment panel heart testimony form a conservative, Timmothy Morrison, a National Security Council aide, who said a top diplomat close to President Trump suggested a military aid package for Ukraine was conditioned on investigations into his political rivals. That's more evidence.

Trump's supporters are on the wrong side of history and continue to support a corrupt con man.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Ducky, Trump's hardest hard core will never desert him because they're cultists.

The info on the testimonies by the witnesses at the impeachment panel is devastating, and I think the Goopers know it. They'll throw as much mud and excrement at the Dems and the impeachment process, hoping some will stick. But, so far, the momentum is on the impeachment side. 55% of Americans are for impeachment and removal of Trump from office.

Elections do have consequences. When a country elects a functiong imbecile, liar, cheater, and con man, that country should expect him to commit crimes out in the open, just as Trump has done and just as he has admitted to those crimes.

Dave "So here we have a GOP Congressman saying that President Trump lied to the American people when he said the transcript of the call, which said at the bottom that it was not a verbatim transcription, was in fact an 'exact transcript.' "

As we know, Trump doesn't read what's put in front of him, and doesn't listen to his aides. He's a functioning illiterate and malignant narcissist. Why would anyone expect him to do anything beneficial to our country. He's shown time after time that all he cares about is his foturnes and his children -- some of them, anyway.
