THIS IS FOR OUR P.E. FRIEND, SKUDRUNNER:

Remember the times you claimed Pete Buttigieg was unqualified to be Secy. of Transportation?

What do you have to say about this? : :

In a shocking leaked audio, Trump’s newly sworn-in head of the Social Security Administration Frank Bisignano admits he didn’t even know what the job was: “I'm like, well, what am I going to do? So, I'm Googling Social Security. I'm like, what the heck's the commissioner of Social Security?”

And how about the times you dragged the Biden Administration for hurting the middle and lower classes?

This is what the Trump administration is doing to them. Where's your indignation on this?

Skud, if he does respond, will be true to form and blame all of the politicians, saying they are all like this. Skud, the King of Both Siderism, will never specifically call out the GOP because that's his tribe. The tribe that has enabled, at every turn, President Trump and his uninformed, unqualified fellow "leaders."

Bisigano, Trump's nominee for SSA did not even know what the job of Director of the Social Security Admin, the org formed during the admin of FDR to ensure all Americans got some sort of pension in their "old age".

Tell us Skud, how does someone who does not even kow what the job is reform or make SSA more efficient?

Like I've said, the MAGA cult will not relent the ignorance UNTIL they are personally and directly negatively affected by the policies of tRump's drive to authoritarian Oligarchy.

Mayor pete was indeed unqualified for the job and he proved it on a regular basis. Since the tax rates are not out yet where did reich get that information or is it his hate conservatives attitude. Unless you are single and live with mom and dad you wouldn't pay FIT under 51K. This is another reason you should favor the Fair Tax.

Trump promised that working-class people “won’t lose health insurance” as a result of his Big Beautiful Bill. Trump Press Secretary Leavitt claimed the bill “does not add to the deficit” even while GOP leaders say it does, and bring the receipts. Trump further said the bill, which cuts some $300 billion from food stamps, “is going to give everybody much more food.” How does that work?

This bill is bad for the middle class and bad for America. But it is a win for Trump and his people who do not believe the Fed has any business paying for any of these things, despite the call to "provide for the common good."

Why hasn't DOGE fired all those unqualified choices?

Dave Miller said...

The tax rates are not out? Skud are you aware that for a tax bill to be passed, the leadership submits the numbers to the non partisan CBO, which then scores the bill, based on the info given them.

So yes, the rates and costs are out.

This has nothing to do with hating conservatives. It all has to do with facts. The deficit will climb with this bill. Look, at first you said you didn't understand math. I explained the math. now you have a new objection. You're priceless amigo. Rather than just admit you've been duped and have supported conservatives all your life on the mistaken view that they care about the debt, you deflect.

Priceless... you and the -FJ cabal of avatars are a matched set.

Again skud provides no credible links suporting his false allegations. They are then simply his conservative biased opinion.

I fundamentally disagree with your premise... that we weren't living in an authoritarian oligarchy before Trump...

David, Thanks for the kind words and FYI I always respond some times it is over censored.
Couple of issues you bring up.
1. The bill has to get through the Senate and it will probably be changed
2. The 3 trillion you referring to is not added to but a continuation of the tax cuts.
3. From what I have read, which is little, some of the food stamp money is going to be handled by the states. Since Nevada is rich their residents will do fine, Mississippi not so much.
4. Nothing government does or has done for decades is good for the middle class. The poor are taken care of, the rich take care of themselves and the middle class funds both.
5. With all the hoop and holler going on little has changed. A judge just said trump can't shut the DoE so it is accepted that we will continue to fund ineffective government agencies.

What is FIT? Federal Income Tax? Is Skud saying that no one making under $51,000 pays federal income tax?

skudrunner said...

"So yes, the rates and costs are out" So David, if the tax rates are out prior to this bill being passed how do you equate the rise in taxes people pay because of this tax bill. The AGI was higher under the previous administration because standard deduction went up. I don't know who was in charge in 2024 but why no outrage against him.

PL, 51k minus standard deduction times tax rate of 10% = 2180 in 2024 and 2100 in 2025.
People making 17K, according to reich, would pay 1000 more when in fact they pay ZERO. I do assume you have heard of statistics can be manipulated.

Feel free to be wrong. Again.

The big beautiful bill also has a provision that if passed will essentially gut the courts ability, including scotus to be able to thwart executive power. Thus giving near absolute power to the executive branch. Thus moving the USA one leap closer to being a dictatorship.

And skud and the MAGA sheeple will no doubt applaud it as patriotic and American.

We have, as a nation, slipped so far from what we once were we are becoming unrecognizable.

skud tries for the snarky comeback and totally misses the point. Better luck next time. Fair witness: Reich brings the facts, consistently. skud? Not so much.

Reich's meme post states those who make under $17K will PAY $1000 a year. Right now those under the 17K cap pay nothing which means this big craptastic bill demands an extra $1000 from those who literally can't afford to lose $5 a month from their budget. How did you miss this point skud?

But hey, those poor billionaires, won't someone think of them?*

*Oh, I'm thinking on them. Nothing I want to share with anyone except my therapist but I'm thinking of them. :)

OT/ I've read the philosophical debate about what is politically left, center, or right. For me this is a conversation had by those with full bellies and a safe place to sleep at night all guaranteed with the presumption that tomorrow means another full belly. Those without such guarantees? Survival is the key. Who cares who is doing the hurting when the hurting is happening all the time?

As I see it, at the core of being an American, asking our government to provide a basic level of food, shelter, healthcare (physical and mental), and transportation is just requiring our tax payer dollars to ensure we all have the bare essentials to survive. These are core beliefs, the center of my being. We take care of those who can't take care of themselves. And if someone won't take care of themselves as the tropes keep saying then they are asked the question and required to do the work to find out why they won't. As I've discovered in mental health, there is always a reason even if we don't know it here/now. Everyone means everyone.

But what about... I hear it already. It's imperative the core necessities are provided free from anyone's personal beliefs as our nation is made of many beliefs and cultures. I live with Christian Nationalists and as a practicing pagan? yeah, I don't go down for coffee very often. Free from the beliefs of others means free to enjoy community, not a reality here/now.

To those which much has been provided, much is required. The myth that hard work will be rewarded is just that, a myth. I worked hard all my life and yet I'm still landed on public assistance and I am not alone. Don't believe me? Have you met our homeless population?

My personal opinion is anyone who says the rich aren't thieving bastards are either rich themselves or haven't had anything stolen from them personally (yet). As I learned from politicians and Wall Street, no one gets ahead by playing by the rules or being squeamish about stepping on others.

I guess I do know why I'm where I am. I'd prefer to lift us all up rather than step on another in order to personally get ahead, so there is that.

Skud... are you not aware the House passed the bill? Yes, the Senate still has to pass their version, but if you think they are going to substantially reduce the tax break for ppl earning over 500K a year, you've not not been watching today's and yes, your GOP.

Look, I get it, you're struggling. The politicians you support and have voted for all your life are really, literally evil people, supporting Donald trump as they do.

So you nitpick details from people. Then when detail is added, you nitpick those so as to not have to deal with the fact that your people lie and are laser focused on helping not all Americans, but some. Heck, they've even said as much, following and supporting a president who has openly said his policies are for red states.

You're functionally unable to admit your erros here. We've never had a president say out loud he doesn't give a rats ass about some states. But Trump has and the people you vote for support him and by extension, his views.

You choose, because I know you are able to do otherwise, to only look at things as black and white, unless of course that black and white ensnares your beloved president. Then you expect grace and nuance. Fascinating.

Worse, you never, and yes I know it sound like an exaggeration but I think it fits, provide any links, back up, receipts or thought lines behind your opinions. Although many here disagree with the -FJ/Joe Cabal, at least he's trying to synthesize a host of philosophical viewpoints.

You? It's just nitpicking BS.

Have a great weekend, and remember this... Trump said he'd be too busy to play golf while president. He said Obama was ripping off America while he played golf.

Was Trump wrong when he said that, lying, just slinging BS mud? Cause you can bet he will get a few rounds in this weekend, all on America's dime. Just like his "private" dinner the other night where people paid big bucks, not to campaign, but to him personally, to hang out with him.

And you guys carped about Clinton "renting out" the Lincoln bedroom, calling it graft and corruption.

David, According to the right wing CNN Poll: Democratic Party’s favorability drops to a record low "Democratic-aligned adults say, 52% to 48%, that the leadership of the Democratic Party is currently taking the party in the wrong direction." It does seem that You're functionally unable to admit your erros here.
Last time I looked POTUS was all of the United States and I do support the office. You need to look at your own party of lies to be able to see a way forward. The republicans are vile I will grant you and they support someone who has no business being president. Had the DNC come clean and anointed a reasonable candidate you would have won. It is sad that the democrats lost to one of the most despised presidents in history because their candidate was even worse.

Root Cause For the Election of DJT a 2'nd Time: Ignorance, Pure and Simple

When the lies and inculcate bu**sh*t of tRump and MAGA became "truth", when tRump was held unaccountable for his J6 2021 Insurection attempt, and when the corrupt SCOTUS granted tRump blanket immunity America was changed. We are now less free, less secure, and less human.

It was wilfull ignorance on the part of the electorate that landed a felon back in the White House. MAGA, the republican party, and billionaires with their special elitist interests were able to exploit the poor handling by democrats relative to Biden's withdrawal from the race. A rather small and insignificant problem compared to tRump's criminality on J6 2021and the SCOTUS decision to grant a protection to tRump that NEVER existed in the Constitution.

Elections have consequences, and we are now seeing live, in broad daylight, the FOTUS taking the retribution he promised.

Wilfull Ignorance of reality is the reason tRump can now play dictator as he pushes his agenda to destroy democracy and the rule of law.

The pig is still a pig, even with lipstick.

The Democratic Party is very upset with Democratic leadership. As I understand recent history 7 out of the 8 politicians in Congress who died while in office were Democrats. I get sudden illness but some... yeah, the rank and file have every reason to be fussy.

So, what is next? Who is getting into good trouble for the American People? Some Democratic politicians are already doing the work - AOC, Jasmine Crockett, Pete Buttigieg, Jamie Raskin, Daniel Goldman, Melanie Stansbury, and so many other amazing voices who understood the mission brief and are large and present on social media. Not waiting for traditional media invites, they pop up on podcasts, memes, they update their followers on Instagram, YouTube, TicTok, and so much more. These are the folks showing up to the townhalls held by constituents and skipped by their GOP congress critters. These are the clips going viral on all the socials.

Final comment: Last time skud looked the President of these United States represented all of the United States and up until The Donald descended from their golden escalator that would have been a fact. In Donald's second term he's made it very clear that all states are created equal but some states are more equal than others. Well, he said it the first time but no one really thought he meant it. Surprise!

Skud opined... "It is sad that the democrats lost to one of the most despised presidents in history because their candidate was even worse.

No Skud, what's sad is that 70 million or so ppl voted for one of the most despised presidents in history, a man as you noted, has no business being president.

I hear you on the Biden issue and I'm on record saying years ago he should not run. You decry the system that got him and then Harris chosen as candidates, instead of someone better.

But you never own up to the fact that the GOP had that system and still chose Trump. The Dems were duped ny a rigged primary system. The GOP openly chose evil in theirs.

This is not on the Dems. Sure, they've got work to do. But the the GOP wants to be the party they are.
