The problem is that this regime just does not care what the people think, and by the time elections come, people will be too tired and brainwashed to care.
And yet it's going to pass.
Look, I get the need to cut spending, and we call agree some would rather cut here and others over there.
But the GOP wants to take 1 trillion bucks, by all sane economists numbers, out of Medicaid and SNAP. We can argue all day about whether people will be harmed by this or needlessly kicked off the rolls.
But at some point we will have to make some cuts and if the GOP wants to cut spending on those two programs, they won the elections so they can do so.
But let's be honest here. They are not using that money to pay down our debt.
They are using that savings to give the financially well off a tax cut with it, thereby further starving government of the money it needs to better serve our people, at the expense of a few.
Now prove me wrong Skud, -FJ, Joe and the rest of our conservatives.
May the Orange Moron be the juice of his own ultimate failure. His fierce belief in his own infallibility should be the motive force behind his own undoing.
So much for Big Bad Balderdash. Bad idea to start with- only the minions on board.
No Possum they do not. They said, not unreasonably, that they said this is what they were going to do, they campaigned on it, and the believe winning, on this message, was voter approval.
So no need to worry about the day to day work of building coalitions.

BTW sports fans... the dollar is in the middle of its biggest devaluation since the 1973 oil embargo. At least that fall was a result of outside pressures.
This drop is 100% attributed to our own president.
Really, you can't make this stuff up. Who'd have thought in the modern age a POTUS could possibly have dislodged the mighty dollar as the currency of choice around the world.

Yep Republicans aren't deficit hawks unless a dem is in the White House! In fact more of our Nation's debt was accumulated under the GOP then Dems!
Republicans put the gold plating on spendthrift. Raising the national debt as rapidly as possible seems to be their number one priority.
Every president no matter the party increased our debt. Budget Deficit is just a mirage for the uninformed debt is the true demon we will gift to our grandchildren’s grandchildren.
I wouldn't count on Democrats taking the midterms.
I DO count on Republicanazis to incite more chaos and street resistance to ICE abuses in order to justify harsh measures like martial law to frighten people into voting for them again.
It might not work, but I do expect them to suppress voters and otherwise criminally interfere with the elections.
This country is under the rule of an organized crime cartel, so I expect the worst.
David, I am not in favor of reducing legitimate payments for SNAP and Medicaid. Snap is a very worthwhile program and I believe everyone should have access to basic healthcare. I would like to see them crack down on waste but not sure there is a big enough desire among our worthless congress to to do that.
You whole bernie spiel about giving tax breaks to the rich is getting worn out. Do they get a bigger break, maybe, do they pay the majority of federal taxes, yes. The 2017 tax cuts helped everyone not just the rich. I believe the SALT cap should just go away because it only aids the states who have high real estate taxes and everyone pays for them. I don't support the exemption for overtime and tips which sounds good but is a look good idea that makes no sense.
We allow our multi millionaire elected elite to use taxes as a way to keep the minions in line and that needs to stop, ie; Fair Tax.
I am opposed to the BBB and would rather see a flat cut to all federal budgets of 5% and of course do away with the DoE.

Collins will be concerned. Murkowski has been bought off with an exemption, now since deleted, but clearly is open to acceptance. Ron Johnson has caved.
I see three GOP Senators voting no and a VP yes to get this over the line.
Over three trillion added to the deficit added in the next ten years. Medicaid slashed 1 trillion to help pay for that giveaway. Millions losing coverage in the process. Support for electric car battery charging stations across the country slashed. New electric postal vehicles, already in service, will lose charger support in the bill. Rural hospitals will close all over the country.
But again... the richest among us, the crowd, yes, including Oprah, from the multimillion dollar Bezos gilded age wedding get more money. While the deficit soars.
What could go wrong.
You MAGA conservatives want some fun? Google US debt graph since WWII and study it. Then come back here and tell us what presidents were in office as our debt was falling. And tell us what those out tax was back when "America was great".
Then explain how the current strategy is anyone but a plan to crater the US economy to such a level that we have to cut Social Security, Medicare and other vital programs America has come to rely on.
Anon... I don't think Biden decreased the debt. As we recovered from the pandemic, our deficit grew AND inflation was spurred. But he added less debt than did Trump in his term.
Les... it is their plan, all part of starving the federal beast. Then the fix will come and finally, after 80 years, conservatives will be able to end Social Security and Medicare, both programs they believe have led to all of America's problems.
Dave Miller, there is no debate as to whether or not the bill will cause harm. It will harm me therefore since harm will be done the claim it doesn't harm is null and void.
Exciting notes: The bill closes nursing homes and rural hospitals. It causes so much harm but those on the other side don't care. In fact if I remember my authors of Project 2025, harm was the goal so, yay job well done???

To a person the Nat-C's are over the moon giddy that 'their' Congress will finally get to punish all those progressives and liberals they despise. To a person the military leaders who attend SecDef's Pentagon prayer meetings held during the duty day have also expressed some giddiness that their Apocalypse would be commencing in an orderly fashion.
Now you see why I had to shower. The rhetoric is so very much over the top many videos were age restricted only because of their glee at the torture which they get to bestow upon communities they've been battling for decades. I'd say they are spiking the ball before the win but it's more like a bloody head and a real spike and it's displayed for all to see at the White House gates.
So - I need something lighter because... well, because.
The younger Democratic Party members are collectively looking at the calcified Establishment Democrats and giving them the.. (looks at notes) regionally specific gestures and words to mean get lost. They understand the brief. They get the medium in which this war will be fought.
Yes they want a new political party. Anyone stuck driving their grandmothers beat up sedan with no cupholders want's a better vehicle. But, our kids, bless their endeavors, are pragmatic so they aren't waiting for a new vehicle, they're souping up what they've got. At least that's my impression of what I see.
Thus far the Democratic "radical left" platform seems to be: Healthcare, housing, nutrition/food, and a livable wage for all. They demand compassionate immigration reform with clear steps towards citizenship. And they demand, yes demand, honesty and transparency. Private is private but secrets will no longer be tolerated. Secrets get you blackmailed. The kids know that having been raised when they were.

Once again, with no Dem votes, the GOP has done us in. No GOP votes at all for the 1992 tax increase that coupled with the Bush tax increases of 1990 set the stage for a historic period of economic growth, a balanced budget and a shrinking deficit. The GOP economic mavens said that tax increase would tank the US economy.
I guess not.
Then in 2000, the GOP smarts said the Bush 2 tax cuts would pay for themselves. Wrong again.
Then in 2017, the GOP smarts fooled reality again and promised the Trump tax cuts would pay for themselves. Wrong again.
And now it 2025. I'm predicting that the 2025 tax cuts, using money from programs to help poor people, will once again explode the deficit.
As they always have since 1980 with Reagan.
WHY WHY WHY?

BTW... Sen Murkowski got this bill over the finish line after she got carve outs to shield her state residents from the same rules the rest of us will have to live with. And she admitted, on camera, that she knew that while she shielded her state, she knew the rest of the country is getting screwed.

Today, with the misinformation, disinformation, and the I got mine screw you mentality of politicians it's hard to know. For certain. Because it's getting harder and harder to know who to trust.
