The Republicans' Inspiring Message on Climate Change

Unfortunately for Republicans, the proportion of Americans who accept scientific reality on this subject is gradually increasing.

Unfortunately for the world, not even that was enough to get sane people to turn out and vote.

The US is a rich country and can probably handle even something as major as the submerging of Florida. Poorer countries which will suffer worse from our apathy and inertia will not easily forgive it.

It's Sunday! Calling all Christians!

This guy:

'Christian' Pastor Prays For President's Death, Calls Obama's Mother A Whore

This is a "Christian" fatwa on the President of the United States.

Listen to all those Christians who come out and condemn this asshat:

*crickets*

So shall we assume all Christians support this fatwa on the POTUS?

When all Muslims don't condemn the death-mongering wackos in their community, people blame all Muslims for their crazy talk!

I guess we have to apply that thinking here?

To admit that ministers bigotry and hatred disrupts their world view.

I was struck by their reaction to the recent criminal beheadings.
In the one case an unbalanced man loses his job, murders a woman with a boning knife and because he had dabbled reading radical sites the call went out far and wide about the coming ISIS hordes and the fall of the U.S. to sharia. Completely irrational. The man wasn't even a regular member of a mosque.

Meanwhile not long afterward in Stillwater (why so often Oklahoma?) a "Christian" decided his roommate was a witch and beheaded him. Not a peep.

In New York a mentally disturbed man decapitated his mother, a popular English professor and again not a peep on the blogs.

Now we might say that what these three cases have in common is mental illness. But that presents the right with all kinds of problems including the difficult issue of treatment and loss of an easy target to hate.
No, better to pretend we solve this problem by stopping the scary Muslims.

Oh, cute graphic, Shaw. I remember when the da said he was supporting Shirley for president. An important moment in my education.

Of course we understand not all Christian ministers are unbalanced as the guy mentioned in my comment. I've met many ministers in my life who are dedicated to helping others, and we know Dave Miller is in that category. But the hypocrisy stinks. Their blanket hatred of all Muslims is as dumb as people hatred of all Christians because of the few wackos out there.

Now the strange thing is the election of a real crazy man, Gordon "Dr. Chaps" Klingenschmitt, a radical anti-gay Religious Right activist. It's depressing to know that there are so many unhappy, hateful people out there who would give this guy a job in the U.S. Congress. I suppose idiots need representation too?

Shirley Chisholm was a favorite in our house as well.

The conservatives are all patting themselves on their backs over the two African-Americans that were elected last Tuesday. Instead they should be wondering why it took them so long. They're always playing catch-up with the liberals on social issues because they're always on the wrong side of history on them.

Evangelicals implicitly calling for Obama's death is nothing new. Remember the Psalm 109:8 "prayer for Obama" meme?

When all Muslims don't condemn the death-mongering wackos in their community, people blame all Muslims for their crazy talk!

Not to go too far off-topic, but a lot of Muslim authorities have, at least, condemned the atrocities of ISIS, and a group of Muslim clerics in Britain even made a video pleading with ISIS to free a British aid worker they had taken hostage (they murdered him anyway). Far too many do stay silent, but not all. It just doesn't get much play in the media.

No doubt plenty of liberal Christians will condemn Pastor Anderson, but it will be interesting to see if many conservative Evangelicals do.

One of the hundreds of commenters wrote, "i prefer to just call barack obama a faggot."

Well, of course he would.

Thanks for the heads-up, Ducky. Looks like the work of Lisa's favorite porno contributor to her blog, Radical Dickhead.
