The Stupids @Breitbart and @American Thinker

When we laugh at their stupidity, there's a reason.  It's because they're hilariously, colossally stupid:

Breitbart's Attack On Obama Attorney General Nominee Goes After The Wrong Loretta Lynch

Two Loretta Lynches, and the wingnuts get it wrong!

A simple check with Google would have set the Breitbart and American Thinker idiots straight.

"Conservative website American Thinker made the same mistake, misidentifying the "Whitewater" Lynch as a graduate of Harvard -- the school attended by nominee Lynch.

Nominee Lynch became a federal prosecutor in 1990, two years before the other Lynch participated in the Whitewater investigation. In 1999 she was appointed by President Clinton as a U.S. Attorney and she currently serves as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York."

Many of the wingnuts who blabber about everything and anything President Obama does get their information on these two sites.  And these two sites made jackasses of themselves because they were too lazy to do the work of finding out information about President Obama's nominee, so why bother checking the facts.

This is what the FAUX NOOZ's conservative viewers think about President Obama's choice of Loretta Lynch for U.S.Attorney General.

So let me get this straight, Tuesday's election got the conservatives two African-American Congresspeople.  I hope someone sends these comments over to Mia Love and Tim Scott.  Y'know just so they understand that anytime an African-American succeeds, the conservative fringe believes it's only because of affirmative action.  So, by their logic, the GOP just got itself two affirmative action representatives.  That's what they think about successful African-Americans.

Here are some of the conservatives' comments about Loretta Lynch:

"I see affirmative action is alive and well."  --Ed Ringmacher

"Uh-oh, we white folks are in trouble again. Geez." --Dorothy Lytle Kirby

"Can't obozo find anyone who is white?" --Maurice Wynne

"Does race really matter?" --Kevin Vance

"Yes, they are only two-thirds human." --Maurice Wynne

Well, there ya go, Mia and Tim!  The conservative company you keep believes you both are only two-thirds human! And Timothy Kornegay says you're "another useless minority in government. What else is new?"

That, Mia and Tim is the political party you've chosen to represent.

Those people that those conservatives are smearing and degrading?  They've got the same color skin that you have. And it's pretty obvious that they don't think very highly of your race. See, if you read what they say carefully, they do not qualify their statements.  Their disgusting, racist statements are aimed at ALL African-Americans. That means you, Mia, and you, Tim.

But now they can brag that the Republican Party is DIVERSE!

Look! We've got TWO "useless minorities" representing us!

PS.  You may want to pass these grossly insulting and racist remarks about African-Americans to another of what they believe is an "Affirmative Action" starlet, Dr. Ben Carson.  I think he, too, should be aware of all the disgust they have for people whose skin isn't lily white.

The T-GOP want it both ways. The African-Americans that Mr.Obama appoints in his administration are all affirmative action recipients who don't deserve what they've achieved, and probably achieved everything at the expense of their better white competitors.

Except when the achievers are T-GOPers, then all of that is not true. African-American TeaParty GOPers EARN everything they achieve.

And the best proof of the T-GOP's duplicity in this area is their excitement over the possibility of Ben Carson running for president.

A man who has ZERO experience in government.

Let's remember how the Goopers always bleated about how little experience in government Mr. Obama had, then let's listen to how they twist themselves into pretzels in telling everyone why that doesn't matter where Carson is concerned.

Oh, and Mia Love and Tim Scott? They didn't profit from affirmative action. Only Democratic African-Americans do.

The T-GOPers are drowning in their hypocrisy.

Blub. Blub. Blub.

Now Shaw, you know to never say anything negative about Breitfart or American Stinker. Their flying monkey's will come to the rescue. Or they will stoop to saying something about Rachel Maddow.

They really are so damn predictable.

The conservatives say that the Democrats keep African Americans in their party by giving them free stuff. Do they ever listen to themselves insulting an entire race of people? Because that may be a huge reason so few black people want anything to do with the Rethuglicans.

"The conservatives say". thereby generalizing and lumping all conservatives into one big ugly basket.

There is a reason independents exist in substantial numbers and there aren't more democrats.

Cranston, R.I.: "The conservatives say that the Democrats keep African Americans in their party by giving them free stuff."

Normally I qualify statements about conservatives by saying "some conservatives say" or "extremist conservatives say," but in this case I think Cranston is correct. Why? Because I've never heard a liberal say that African-Americans stay with the Democrats because they give them free stuff. I've heard conservatives, even leading conservatives, declare that the Democrats keep African-Americans on the "plantation," and that's why A.A.s vote as a bloc for them.

That's a patronizing, demeaning thing to say, since it suggests that all the A.A.s who vote for the Democratic Party don't make informed choices when they vote. That's insulting, as is what the conservatives wrote on that FAUX NOOZ comment thread.

How does a political party expect people to feel welcome when they think so little of them? Every time a conservative denigrates Mr. Obama (by saying he's an affirmative action president) or one of his appointments, by saying the same thing, that insults all African-Americans who have achieved success, even those African Americans who choose the Republican Party. The Republicans can't make the claim that it is only Democratic African Americans who are affirmative action recipients without sounding like ignorant jerks.

Democrats don't keep minorities in the Democratic party. Republicans keep minorities in the Democratic party -- by constantly saying stuff like this. (I've seen almost equally disgusting comments about Hispanics.)

Hell, I feel the same way. They make it very clear that they don't see people like me as proper Americans. The Republican party is a complete non-option for me even though there are a few things I agree with them about. Disagreements I can tolerate. Prejudice against me because of who I am, never.

As for the confusion of Loretta Lynches, what damning evidence of the utter stupidity of the whole Breitbart organization. Not one person there thought to check an obvious possibility like two different people with the same name?

Les Carpenter said...

Breitbart certainly does not have anything to do with being Bright.

It makes you wonder why no one ever thought to ask any past presidents if they chose their AG's because they were white?

Obama chooses a well qualified twice Senate approved nominee and he is accused of picking a shill.

A former pres nominates a rated unqualified person for SCOTUS and he is praised for leadership.

Go figure...

Infidel... I am like you in that I have some issues where I am more conservative than many in the Dem party.

But as a man married to an African American woman with a mixed race son, I'll never be part of a group that does not publicly distance themselves from the hurtful, uninformed comments of many of their constituents.

Then you get my point exactly. When one party is bigoted against you or people you care about, that supersedes every other issue. In the long run the Republicans and the conservative movement are doomed because of their own prejudices. It's not that all of them individually are bigots, but the movement accepts bigots as part of its coalition and thus takes on their stench.

Whenever I find Breitbart as a source for anything, I run.... My harsh criticism of using Media Matters as a source applies equally to such sources on the right.

Anyway... looking forward to hearing Rush bash Obama for nominating the singer of "Coal Miner's Daughter".

This is why African Americans by 98% vote with the Democrats. Not because the Democrats give them "free stuff," but because the GOP has, through voter suppression, taken stuff (voting rights) away:

"We have been witness, over the past six years, to a non-stop Republican war on blacks. While Pat Buchanan, in an op-ed for World Net Daily (the only place with low enough standards to give the racist Buchanan a job), would like to re-imagine their race war as one in which Republicans are the black voter’s best friend, Michael Wells detailed the black voter’s woes for PoliticusUSA:"

"In Greensboro, one of North Carolina’s largest cities, voters waited for hours to vote. At North Carolina A&T University, a historically black university, many African-American students were told they could not vote because they were in the wrong precinct; their mailing address did not match their dorm address and thus, did not match the voting rolls; and students were misled as to where to vote by mailers sent by super-PACs supporting Republican candidates."

Shaw Kenawe said...

Catherine Rampell of the WaPo:

"Voter suppression efforts may have changed the outcomes of some of the closest races last week. And if the Supreme Court lets these laws stand, they will continue to distort election results going forward.
The days of Jim Crow are officially over, but poll-tax equivalents are newly thriving, through restrictive voter registration and ID requirements, shorter poll hours and various other restrictions and red tape that cost Americans time and money if they wish to cast a ballot. As one study by a Harvard Law School researcher found, the price for obtaining a legally recognized voter identification card can range from $75 to $175, when you include the costs associated with documentation, travel and waiting time. (For context, the actual poll tax that the Supreme Court struck down in 1966 was just $1.50, or about $11 in today’s dollars.)"
