The biggest thing is about Trump's base.And the numbers that look good now. He is polling at 38% or something of GOP voters. Which is top spot in the GOP primary. The reality is nobody outside the GOP will ever vote for him in the General Election. Democrats, Indepedents, nobody. I believe that. He has said too much he can't walk back from. Not that he ever compromises or apologizes for anything anyway, ever. If he did try to tone it down, he loses the base, he's created a no win situation.
If So-called moderate Republicans can't vote for him yet refuse to vote for a Democrat, they'll stay home. Same as voting for the other side. You can't win with just 38%-41% of your own party voting for you in the General Election. That is 40% of all voters at that point. Pulling 40% of the total vote in the general means you lose in a landslide.
Cruz is also underwater with all of these groups, but by much lower percentages. The one I find most interesting is that Cruz is -22% with independents. That number is even more negative than his numbers with African-Americans and Latinos.

In fact, as we speak, you have elements of the political establishment among Republicans hiding under their desk, figuring out how they can possibly co-opt or deal with Donald Trump. I wonder what Rich "Star Bursts" Lowry thinks about his crush, Sarah Palin, who came out for the Trumper? I guess he's admitting that she's not a "principled conservative." Too bad he was so taken with Sarah's pulchritude in 2008 that it blinded him to her gross inanity.

I don't know what alarms me more: Trump as a serious contender for the White House, or people who support Trump. Brrrr!

The people who support Trump are the ones who give him the power to advance his insanity. Without them he is a complete zero Ahab.

Independents: -26%
