Honorable Republicans and Trump

There are thoughtful, honorable Republicans out there who put love of country above party loyalty:

Rick Wilson:

“I am getting I-told-you-so delivered to my house by the truckload every day,” Rick Wilson, the Florida Republican consultant who has vocally opposed Trump from the beginning, told me. “I am eating up the I-told-you-so like a fat kid eats cake.”

Wilson had little patience for the idea that Trump might still turn it around.

“He’s 70 years old. He’s a narcissistic sociopath. He’s not going to change,” he said.

“There is no better version of Donald Trump, no mindful, serious, presidential version, only the reality-TV, con-man, pro-wrestling dipshit Donald Trump.”

Senator Mark Kirk of Illinois is the first GOP official to rescind his backing for the party’s nominee.

Republican Maryland Gov. Hogan says he won't vote for Trump

GOP Gov. Charlie Baker won’t vote for Trump, may leave ballot blank

'Highly offensive': GOP lawmakers distance selves from Trump after Orlando response

But there are still many TGOPers who support this disaster of a human being for reasons no sane person can understand.

Good luck with your thin-skinned racist bully, TeaPublicans who still support him. You're going to need it:

Trump's unfavorables in WaPo/ABC poll:

Independents: 68%

Under 50: 76%
Women 77%
Hispanics 89%
Blacks 94%
According to a Washington Post/ABC News poll, "a whopping 70% of Americans now have an unfavorable opinion of Trump."

Why anyone needs all these data points in print, on blogs with links, political pundits telling them what to think, and etc. is amusing. Especially since listening to T-Man himself (and thinking about what his words mean) is frankly the very best advertisement why NOT to vote for him.

As for the Trumpian 30% faithful? Not a damn thing anyone says will alter there views one iota.

Stocking up on craft beer, vintage wine, suprb single malt scotch, and chips may be the best way to go. Eat, drink, be merry, and hope the T-Man takes care of completing his own destruction.

Life is good and a majority of the American people are sane.

"Life is good and a majority of the American people are sane."

That's a happy thought. And it's a real thing. It is gratifying to know that a majority of our fellow Americans see the "T-Man" for what he is; and therefore, he'll never be president.

This is surely going to put those wack-o-job rightwing bloggers who call the President Obama "moslem vermin" and ask for his assassionation over the edge, if they're not already fallen into their own septic tanks. Wait til Hillarys the president, you wanna see pain? if theyre lost their minds over obama now, you ain't seen nuthin' yet!

Just today, Hugh Hewitt, a man I thought was serious and principled, endorsed Trump after saying just last week he felt Trump was unsuited for the office. I wonder what changed?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Just another unprincipled conservative, IMO.

Why would anyone go on record and endorse for the highest office in America a person he says is unsuited for that very serious job? What sort of sense does that even make? I don't like to throw this term around, but wouldn't a rational person say that was something a mentally unstable person would do? And isn't it curious how often the 30 percenters claim "libtards" are suffering from a mental disease?

Anonymous said...

I told you, Trump loses in a landslide!

Dave Miller said...

And today from Sen John McCain a statement saying he believes President Barack Obama is directly responsible for the mass shooting in Orlando.

No word on who was directly responsible for the Twin Towers... or the foisting of Sarah Palin on the American public.

Paul said...

I wonder what the Republican party will look like post Trump?
Trump may have 30% of the Republican vote (who seem to be dropping Trump more everyday) that represents about 15% of the national vote. I agree with anon., Trump will lose in a landslide.
McCain blames the rise in terrorism on Obama removing our troops from Iraq. I guess the Sen. forgot the troop withdrawal was a negotiated point between the Bush administration and Iraqi leaders. The cause of terrorism rising was America's invasion of Iraq based on a lie.
I hope all this garbage will result in Republicans losing 30 seats in the House. Feingold from Wisconsin is running again for the Senate. I hope Warren stays in the Congress where we need her vote. Hillary can choose from many other VP candidates, we need to keep all our elected Democratic representatives in office.
I'm having fun watching all this. I suppose because I don't believe Trump has a chance in hell of winning. But, as Bill Maher would say, never underestimate the stupidity of the American voter. If Trump actually wins, I won't be laughing anymore.

Jerry Critter said...

Wait a minute. I thought the mass shooting in Orlando was god's retribution for those people being gay. It is god's fault.

Shaw Kenawe said...

So McCain blames President Obama for the twisted, heinous actions of an American maniac?

Did McCain blame Gov. Haley for the slaughter in the church in Charleston?

Actually, I stopped paying attention to McCain after he put Sarah Palin on his ticket to be first in line to the presidency. I'll never forgive him for foisting her on the American people.

Shaw Kenawe said...

JC: "Wait a minute. I thought the mass shooting in Orlando was god's retribution for those people being gay. It is god's fault."

Well that's true, Jerry. The very religious right wing will agree with that. God will not be mocked, so he sends a maniac to kill young men and women. That's their thinking.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Luke: "I wonder what the Republican party will look like post Trump?"

I'm guessing it'll look like THIS.

Dave Miller said...

And now as McCain says he misspoke, apparently all is to be forgiven?

In 2010 he tweeted congrats to Former Pres Bush as the troops left Iraq for winning the war. And today he says the troops leaving Iraq under Obama are the cause of the Orlando tragedy.

Some of the older politicians must not realize in the digital world, nothing ever goes away, including past statements and tweets.

As a matter of fact, not even Sarah Palin goes away...

Thanks again, John McCain...

Shaw Kenawe said...

Indeed. McCain congratulated President Bush for leaving Iraq!

He/She must mean "Adam West."

All I can say is hopefully Billy Graham won't come out of retirement and explain to Trump what it means to be a born-again Christian and say the believer's prayer together or we're all cooked. If Trump gets baptized, it's all over Baby Blue!

Shaw youre far too nice to the crazies on the far right. In fact what they should be called is subversives. They call for the assassination of the president, they lie about his religion and his loyalty to this country, and they're no different than the dirty effing hippies from the 60s who they blame for everythin bad thats happened to this country. They are against gays, Muslims, atheists, liberals, and people who are educated. Call them dangerous subversives -- that's what people who call for the American president's death are.

Shaw Kenawe said...

KoM,

There is some truth to what you say, since if liberal bloggers called for the assassination of a Republican POTUS on their blogs they'd be calling them subversives. But I don't think using another name to describe the fringe right wingers will change their minds about Mr. Obama. They hate him, and that hatred is more of a reflection of their unhappy lives than anything to do with the president. We will always have malcontents and haters among us.

In sn effort to make your insertions clear, my I say that it seems to you are digging pretty deep for a non point.
I think that Hillary has her definitions wrong, that doesn't escape the fact that killers have made the AR-15 a weapon of choice, and it has been used in more than one mass killing attack. As proven by those attacks the AR-15 is quite deadly. It's dishonest to say if a killer did not have this type of weapon the kill rate would be the same, or they could do the same damage with a six shot revolver, an ice pick, a knife, a baseball bat, or other weapons that can kill.
So where do we draw a line for weapons to be used for self defense? Can civilians own any kind of weapon? What's your answer to those questions? You seem to defend her on a "No Matter What" basis. And that's the problem with people like you, People who are Progressive loyalists. Are generally hateful, at least in my opinion.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Anonymous 101,

There is absolutely nothing on this blog that "defends her No Matter What." The reason Donald Trump is where he is today is because of people like you who have no critical thinking skills, who don't bother with facts, and who are low-information voters. Your idiotic comment attests to this.

Get lost.

Shaw Kenawe said...

From PM Carpenter:

Successful presidential candidates are of course symptomatic expressions of their base. Accordingly, following Trump's antics is like reading GOP voters' psychiatric chart. The Republican nominee (presumably) "shoots from the hip and is prone to both wild theories and extreme policies," complains Krauthammer.

Kay of Main, That is an apt description of the denizens of the far rabid right blogs and their subversive mentality. Donald Trump represents perfectly who they are: Factless, conspiracy and rumor lovers, vulgar.

FYI Shaw,

The person you call APP (A Proud Progressive) posted my above comment word for word on another blog (The Oracular Opinion). I wonder how many blogs they copied my comment to?

The Anonymous 101 comment above was copied from The Oracular Opinion by a commentator named TOM.

I just started my blog two days ago. I've never been to The Oracular Opinion. Someone is playing games with you Shaw, or are they playing games with me? I could care less, just FYI.

Liberal politicians in a California city are freaking out after numerous rainbow flag signs with a strange message on them were posted around town following the deadly terror attack in Orlando, Florida.

Although while the leftist politicians are beside themselves over the signs, those of us all about self-defense absolutely love them. They depict the rainbow flag, which has become the de-facto symbol of the LGBT movement, with the same rattlesnake seen on the Gadsden flag, and below the image is the phrase Shoot Back.

Now do you see why they’re freaking out about it?

Paul said...

Thanks for the heads up Shaw.

Do you have trouble with IMHO?
Apparently I do.
Is IMHO, Tom?
IMHO, say whatever garbage you want on my blog, I will post it. I don't know you, but some do, so I'll just let them read how sick you are.

Trump's ghastly performance over the last couple of weeks has revived the question of an open convention, where delegates would have it in their power, should they choose to exercise it, to nominate any eligible citizen for consideration by the convention and to vote their conscience in a secret ballot. Meanwhile, the announcement of the Better for America group has given some organizational ballast to a possible independent campaign, with ballot access and signature gathering efforts about to get underway. Both an open convention and an independent candidacy are long shots. But they are far from hopeless.

the former commander of American special forces in Afghanistan and Iraq, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, says the Iraqi invasion actually helped create newer, more lethal terrorists such as ISIS.

General Flynn told a German newspaper:

“We were too dumb. We didn’t understand who we had there at that moment. When 9/11 occurred, all the emotions took over, and our response was, ‘Where did those bastards come from? Let’s go kill them. Let’s go get them.’ Instead of asking why they attacked us, we asked where they came from. Then we strategically marched in the wrong direction.”

Read it and laugh:

"While Trump had promised Priebus that he would call two dozen top GOP donors, when RNC chief of staff Katie Walsh recently presented Trump with a list of more than 20 donors, he called only three before stopping, according to two sources familiar with the situation.
Haha! Prince Reebus must be stewing in it. You'd have to mop the sweat on his forehead with a ShamWow.

Believe this, if Trump were raising big money right now, he'd be bragging about it publicly.

Trump won't bring himself to groveling for dough. Nor will he admit he's too fuckin’ broke to put up any money himself. Especially after all that bragging about self-funding, which I'm sure those first three donors threw right back in his face. That's why his weak ass quit his fundraising regimen. I guess he couldn't "make great deals."

Hoist, meet petard."

You say that like it's a bad thing!

Luke, I know your MO. You've had a profile since 2002. I'm sure you're one of the Fake Bloggers I wrote about.

So, if you're so bored with your life and you have to go on blogs and pretend to be someone you're not, I'm sad for you.

Have a nice life.

For someone who claims he's "new" to blogging, you sure know an awful lot about the Daddy blog, RN, Pam, Ducky, and me.

You fool no one.
