Another Trump Lie About ISIS

Trump stated that President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are the founders of ISIS.

This is another easily refuted lie.

Here's a report from 2007 on ISIL  You may recall that George W. Bush was the POTUS in 2007:

ID cards of missing soldiers shown on insurgent Web sitePOSTED: 1647 GMT (0047 HKT), June 4, 2007

(CNN) -- A Sunni insurgent group on Monday posted video of the military identification cards of two missing American soldiers in Iraq. The video also carries an audio commentary in Arabic in which the speaker says, without providing any proof, "We decided to put an end to this matter and announce the death of the soldiers."

According to the commentary, the group made the move because the U.S. military did not heed its demand to end the search for the soldiers. CNN cannot independently verify the video, which was intercepted by terrorism expert Laura Mansfield.

The video is from the Islamic State of Iraq, an insurgent group that includes al Qaeda in Iraq.

The video included a still image of the photo identifications of Spc. Alex R. Jimenez , 25, of Lawrence, Massachusetts, and Pvt. Byron W. Fouty, 19, of Waterford, Michigan. (Watch how soldiers' ID cards ended up on Web site Video) Above the photos, written in Arabic, was the message, "Bush is the reason for the loss of your prisoners."

Again and again and again Trump shows the American people that he has no grasp of facts and that he resorts to lies and b.s. to distract from his imploding campaign.

The above report is from 2007, and it clearly states that the "Islamic State in Iraq" was already operative. ISI has changed names -- ISIS, ISIL, but it is the same group that was operating in Iraq during GWB's disastrous war.

Of course it's a lie - Drumpf said it, didn't he? Seriously, that sick old man can NOT tell the truth about ANYTHING.I really think he's mentally ill and in need of professional help.

This morning, I read that Drumpf's business was down a whopping 23% since he began his run for office. Hopefully, when he's humiliated this fall, and he slinks back into his whole, the rest of his criminal empire will crash and burn down around his ugly old orange behind.

That is not what he said and hopefully you know it but it is what the MSM will spin it into. Just like his import tax and his banning all Mexicans and Muslims. The MSM is doing all it can to produce a victory for -H- that they seldom report what was said just snippets that cast Trump in the worst light.

-H- will win and the MSM will make sure nothing changes. -H- is touting the democrat economic position they have always had and obama has carried out for eight sluggish years. Raise taxes and spend like mad while buying votes. After a couple more years of a sluggish economy the clinton administration will blame the republicans.

Facts don't matter to Trump. He says what he says to incite his followers and to grab the daily headlines.

skud, Reuters puts it in quotes. So do many other news outlets. I'll look for a video of him saying it. Meanwhile here's the Reuters' report:

Trump calls Obama, Clinton 'co-founders' of Islamic State
WASHINGTON | BY DOINA CHIACU

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump called U.S. President Barack Obama and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton "co-founders" of Islamic State on Thursday, igniting fresh criticism of his inflammatory campaign style."

skud: "The MSM is doing all it can to produce a victory for -H- that they seldom report what was said just snippets that cast Trump in the worst light."

OMG! That from the guy who came here repeatedly and used the "You didn't build that" quote from President Obama out of context? Jeebus, skud!

Shaw Kenawe said...

Okay, skud, here it is from Trump's own mouth.

I'm curious. Why did you say it was only a "snippet?" An easy search could prove that it's a direct quote!

Part of the reason Trump has gotten as far as he has in this campaign is his supporters' refuse to see him for what he is -- a thin-skinned bullying demagogue.

Who wants to bet skud won't come back an apologize to shaw for telling her "that's not what he said and you know it."

shw proved it is exactly what Trump said and he said that Obama and Clinton were the founder and co-founder of ISIS.

Bluebull and Jerry,

I think it was Fareed Zakaria who made the distinction recently between a liar and a bullshitter. A liar actually has to have knowledge about what he's saying in order to tell the lie, but a bullshitter just says anything to make himself appear knowledgeable about things he doesn't know. By those descriptions, Trump is a champion bullshitter. He doesn't know anything about ISIS despite his claim that he knows more than the generals, but that didn't stop him from saying that President Obama and Hillary Clinton were the co-founders. My post shows that Islamic State in Iraq was evident in 2007.

I think after this week we can be pretty confident that Trump's quest for the presidency is also b.s. And the funniest part of it is that he sabotaged himself with his b.s.

"He was the founder. The way he got out of Iraq — that was the founding of ISIS, OK?"

Ms shaw, presbo did say if you own a small business you didn't build it
"If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that"
Now is this taken out of context, yes but so is what trump said. You are correct that Trump is a thin-skinned demagogue and I wish we had a choice but we don't. -H- answer to everything is raise taxes and give stuff away which is not an answer at all.

ISIS was in Iraq in 2004, skud. Or do you believe what happened 12 years ago is too ancient history for you to research?

Man, some of you GOPers just don't believe in facts or the truth, do you. No wonder you're drawn to a bullshitter like Trump.

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is the man who founded ISIS

.Donald Trump's assertion that President Barack Obama is the "founder" of ISIS runs counter to reality.

"He was the founder of ISIS, absolutely," Trump told CNBC on Thursday, a day after he repeatedly made the claim.

The terror quasi-state that is variously called Islamic State, ISIS, ISIL or Daesh was founded by a bloodthirsty religious zealot named Abu Musab al-Zarqawi in 2004. The native Jordanian moved to Iraq, along with thousands of other insurgent volunteers, to fight the American and British forces that had invaded that country in 2003.

At the time, Barack Obama was serving as a state senator for the 13th District of Illinois, spending most of his time shuttling between Chicago and Springfield.

The United States smashed the Iraqi military in March 2003 and took over the country. On May 23, 2003, under the orders of the Bush administration's designated administrator for Iraq, L. Paul Bremer, the United States disbanded the Iraqi Army and fired thousands of other government workers. As a result, many thousands of Iraqis were put out of a job within a country with a wrecked infrastructure and an economy that had ground to a near-total halt.

Al-Zarqawi entered Iraq either during the invasion or just after it, with funding from Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, whom the United States had already tried kill in Afghanistan. Al-Zarqawi started funneling foreign fighters into the country through Syria. He also had little difficulty attracting fighters from disaffected Sunni tribes in Iraq, most of whom had little money or means of acquiring it, but many of whom had arms they had either stolen or bought from the collapsed national army."

Skud, if you think the above is not factual, come back and dispute it with evidence to the contrary. Otherwise accept the fact that Trump is a bullshitter, and that you're defending him.

Meanwhile you're quibbling over the exact words Trump used to slander the POTUS and SoS, Hillary Clinton? Madness!

Q: How long has ISIS been around and why are they just now on the move?

A: The group initially was established in Iraq in 2004 by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a Palestinian Islamist extremist born in Jordan, who formerly was one of the estimated 25,000 foreign Muslims who flocked to Afghanistan after 1979 to fight the Soviets. He was a close associate of Osama bin Laden, although he did not formally join al-Qaeda until 2004 when he was recognized as the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq.

Zarqawi was killed in a U.S. airstrike in 2006 and his organization was decimated by a U.S.-led counterterrorism campaign. But the group made a comeback in Iraq after the withdrawal of U.S. troops in 2011, which took the pressure off it. Also, Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki’s Shia-dominated government alienated Sunni Iraqis, driving many of them to see ISIS as the lesser evil.

Les,

Before you school me check out the facts. It was not ISIS in 2004.
