Donald Trump, the GOP Presidential Nominee, Went There Today.

A few weeks ago, this maniac asked Russia to interfere in our national elections.

Today, Donald Trump suggested at his rally that if Hillary Clinton is elected and gets to nominate Supreme Court Justices, there's nothing they can do about it -- except those who enjoy the Second Amendment rights, THEY may be able to do something about it.

Yeah. Trump went there and suggested that his Second Amendment Rights followers can always shoot Hillary to deter her from nominating judges if she's elected president.

Listen to his words.  There's no other meaning to them. He's now encouraging his followers to assassinate Hillary, should she become president:

More from Crooks and Liars on Trump's invitation at his rally to kill Hillary if she wins the presidency:

"In his rally in North Carolina Donald Trump once again went off script, this time inviting gun rights activists to take care of his Hillary Clinton problem.

Speaking to an amped-up crowd about the differences between Clinton and himself, Trump declared, "Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish, the Second Amendment."

"And by the way, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks," he shouted over booing.

As the shouts from the crowd continued, Trump added, "Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is. I don't know."

In case anyone sees this as uniquely Trump, I refer you back to June, 2010, and Sharron Angle's run for Harry Reid's Senate seat.

"If this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are going to start looking for second amendment remedies..."

Which she then follows up with this:

"The first thing we need to do is take Harry Reid out."

It's not original, and it's not just Trump. But it IS dangerous. Very dangerous."

It's a new top. Calling for the assassination of a sitting U.S. president. Pretty funny Donald. That one should take some time to outdo. Just kidding, huh?

FJ, there is no other way to take what Trump said. It's no joke to suggest the assassination of a president, and that's exactly what he did. He's a stupid fraud. And he'll never be president.

Call Me Hank said...

Don't let him get away with it. It was intentional. He knows what it means. He'll play innocent...

... and try to make you believe he meant something different, but don't believe it.

We don't have to meet court-of-law prosecutorial standards before we can condemn and call-out behavior like that. We know EXACTLY what he meant! It was an inflammatory lie, followed by a call-to-action for his supporters.

IT WAS A THREAT!!

His denying what he meant by that is along the lines of someone denying that "see you next Tuesday" doesn't mean anything vulgar and misogynistic either.

He should be arrested for this threat, but sadly, he won't be.

Oh, Ms. Pennyworth, who's an escapee from the Shit Pit, go bother someone else's blog. No one here takes your idiot comments seriously.

BTW, Hillary Clinton has been fact checked six ways to Sunday and found to be more honest by a ten miles than your pathetic candidate Donald "Little Hands" Trump.

Good-bye. And have a nice losing candidate!

Notice how the trolls come by to change the subject when they discover their candidate stepped in crap up to his nostrils?

There is no misunderstanding of a "second amendment solution". There is only one interpretation.

PM Carpenter:

"Watching the nominee of one of our major parties suggest the assassination of the opposing nominee — as what, a "joke"? a prediction? a threat? an encouragement? — was the most malodorous moment yet in the seemingly bottomless cesspool of Trumpism, now formally known as modern Republicanism.

For this is what the party's Paul Ryans and Mitch McConnells and Reince Pribeuses are willing to countenance for the sake of party: a madman even more rhetorically reckless than Hitler of '32, who, as vile as he was, was at least rhetorically strategic. The latter knew when to hold his tongue, curb his "jokes," and limit his public threats. Trump lacks even that self-discipline."

Donald makes crap smell not so bad in comparison to him.

Speaking of over the top... Here's my comment I left over at Beale's place.

Of course Trump is back-pedalling this like a unicyclist on a tightrope wire. Although he may be right about one thing. Second amendment people and NRA guys, for the most part, are great Americans. In some ways not so different than normal people. They would no sooner think about killing an innocent victim than would you or I. The trouble is when the people in power go overboard, like when they killed the Kennedys. Or when disturbed and dangerous personalities are stimulated to go out and kill by irresponsible rhetoric. So sure, Donald. The NRA can rally the troops and stop Hillary, just like they have stopped everyone before her for the last twenty-five years. I guess this is the second amendment solution you were referring to. I think it may be a little bit more of a fair fight the next time around with Hillary at the helm. Obama didn't really want to be hated any more than he already was. He truly was a president for all Americans.
But in right-wing politics, the term solution takes on a much more sinister meaning. Hitler’s final solution. “Take care of it,” say the TV and movie gangsters when they order a sanction. When a problem is solved, it is solved by extermination.
But no, Donald. As usual you are lying through your teeth about something you never should have said. I think it is time for the DOJ to start building a case against Trump. If the rhetoric ramps up or even crosses the line again by constituting a legitimate threat or call to violence, Trump can be arrested, held in detention and prosecuted for making terrorist threats.
I’m sure the U.S. wouldn’t mind having Obama stay in the White House another year or two while Donald clears his name in a court of law.

Trump spokesman Jason Miller said the candidate was not speaking literally. “It’s called the power of unification ― Second Amendment people have amazing spirit and are tremendously unified, which gives them great political power,” Miller said in a statement. “And this year, they will be voting in record numbers, and it won’t be for Hillary Clinton, it will be for Donald Trump.”

Shaw Kenawe said...

@Chris

Jason Miller -- "It's called the art of b.s.ing and shoveling up the merde after Trump befouls his campaign again."

Everyone knows EXACTLY what Trump was saying, including the Secret Service who took what he said seriously.

FJ, the thing that's more horrible than what Trump suggested is the fact that a large number of Americans support this maniac. This week, the GOP's talking points from the radical rabid right is that Hillary suffers from some sort of mental condition. Some wingnut came here to insinuate this, without a shred of evidence.

A real and present mentally unbalanced maniac is their choice to lead this country, yet they're running around the internet screaming HILLARY! BRAIN SEIZURES! and they ignore what's in front of their noses.

From HuffPost:

"Former CIA Chief Michael Hayden: Donald Trump has tried to walk back his suggestion that gun rights supporters shoot Hillary Clinton by saying he didn’t mean it, but a former CIA head explained why that excuse doesn’t cut it.

“If someone else had said that outside the hall, he’d be in the back of a police wagon now with the Secret Service questioning him,” Michael Hayden told CNN.

Indeed, the Secret Service investigated a Trump staffer after he threatened President Barack Obama on social media. The agency said on Twitter Tuesday that it was “aware” of the GOP presidential nominee’s remarks.

Hayden said it doesn’t really matter if Trump wasn’t intentionally threatening his Democratic presidential rival.

“You’re not just responsible for what you say,” he said. “You are responsible for what people hear.”

And what people heard Trump say was this:

“Hillary wants to abolish ― essentially abolish the Second Amendment. By the way, if she gets to pick, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.”

Trump has received a considerable amount of backlash over the remark, but Fox News’ Dana Perino pointed out that if Clinton had made a similar comment, the reaction might have been worse."

NOTE: Here's Trump's entire quote:

“If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the second amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know. But I’ll tell you what, that will be a horrible day.”

Why would it be "a horrible day" if all Trump meant was "the power of unification" by the NRA?

However, Trump was hinting at assassinating a possible President Hillary Clinton and, yes, that would be "a horrible day" because that would plunge the country into crisis. But Trump has no knowledge of our American history and what presidential assassinations do to the fabric of America.

Trump is a pestilential plague on this country and needs to be soundly defeated by the American electorate in November. His followers need to be shamed into the next century for their reckless support of this enemy of all that is good in America.

Les Carpenter said...

Do not we really believe Trump was suggesting the assassination of Clinton. Methinks not.

Trumps statement 'if Clinton gets to elect her judges' is hypothetical at this point and can only happen if she is elected. It is not only plausible but very likely Trump was talking to 2'nd amendment rights advocates. He needs their votes and he was sending the message he would appoint conservative pro 2'nd amendment rights judges.

It was a stupid shoot from the hip statement, something Trump is prone to do. A quality we can ill afford in the President of the United States.

Stupid, yes. Presidential, absolutely not. Will it affect the avid Trumpian's viewpoint, nope. But did Trump mean to imply nefarious intent, highly unlikely and very improbable.

He likely pushed more undecided but Clinton leaning folks into HRC's fold.

A VERY STRANGE YEAR INDEED.

Les Carpenter said...

It would be a horrible day the day she became president and assumed the power of the presidency. Including the power to appoint judges (with the advice and consent of the senate).

Rhetoric is getting out of hand. From both sides.

Ray Cranston said...

There's nothing that will disgust Trump's apologists on the right. He's hinted at incest saying he'd date Ivanka if she wasn't his daughter and he had his paws all over her hips and butt after she introduced him at his convention. He actually said he could kill someone in the middle of 5th Ave. New York and his supporters will still stick by him, he's insulted an American POW and the family of a Purple Heart hero. Now he's hinted at murdering a possible American president and his supporters say the outrage about his statement is ridiculous.

No. Just imagine if a political opponent had said this about their Saint Ronnie. Just imagine:

“If Ronald Reagan gets to pick his judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the second amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know. But I’ll tell you what, that will be a horrible day.”

Ha Ha. Only kidding! Hinting at second amendment solution for Reagan? Ha-Ha-Ha. Just joking.

shaw's right, these people need to be shamed into oblivion for their cowardly support of their idiot candidate.

The Secret Service doesn't call it "Making a Mountain out of a Mole hill." They take even a hint of a threat very, very seriously. You obviously are a Trump apologist who would dismiss any outrageous statements he makes. Shame on you.

Ray,

You're correct, nothing dissuades his rabid supporters. It's beyond mere support of a political candidate and has become a sort of Cult of the Crazed.

RN: "Do not we really believe Trump was suggesting the assassination of Clinton. Methinks not."

The Secret Service believes differently. Any suggestion involving violence or the hint of violence against a president or presidential candidate is taken seriously; and, as Michael Hayden, former CIA Chief said, "It's not what he says; it's what people hear that makes his statement dangerous.

The apologists for trump in his latest shit storm have no decency or courage. It's too late to kick the bastard to the gutter where he belongs but they don't have to make excuses or blame Liberals for reacting as normal sane Americans would react. trump is the culmination of years and years of the GOP pandering to the worst and the dumbest in their party. The problem is we have to suffer the banality of evil along with the rest of the country that didn't buy into the TeaPissy Palin Party shenanigans. The Gop brought this on themselves. They can eat it.
