Goopers Refuse to See What's in Front of Their Noses

Conservative activists refuse to believe Trump is spending more on travel than Obama

Of course they refuse to believe anything except Trump's alternative facts.

They're the same people who had no problem voting for a man who bragged about adultery with other men's wives and with getting away with sexual assault on women; a man who mocked a disabled journalist and a POW; a man who deals in lies and misinformation on a daily basis; and a man who pretends to be a Christian.

We don't have to know anything more about the people who voted for the most disliked new president in U.S. history. They absurdly believe the country and the world admires Trump.

And they all refuse to see what's in front of their noses.

They're to be pitied more than reviled for their mental confusion and weaknesses. The local town hall meetings with Gooper senators and representatives may help them to "stay woke."

Charles Blow:

"I have no patience with liberal talk of reaching out to Trump voters. There is no compromise point with those who accept, promote, and defend bigotry, misogyny, and xenophobia than there is in a designation of "almost pregnant."

Trump is a cancer on this country and resistance is the remedy. The Trump phenomenon is devoid of compassion, and we must be closed to compromise.

No one need try to convince me otherwise. The effort is futile; my conviction is absolute. This is a culture war in which truth is the weapon, righteousness the flag, and passion the fuel.

Fight, fight, fight. And when you are finished, fight some more. Victory is the only acceptable outcome when freedom, equality, and inclusion are at stake."

Yes. Yes. Yes.

And yes some more.

I wonder if the town hall protesters are independents or right wingers coming in to the light.

Ideally, it's both.

Now the question is whether or not the Happy Hands administration is going to go after the press for reporting the "incidents"
and risk having the press finally wake up and get steamed off.
Next question is whether of not the Dems will pound on this in preparation for the midterms.

"Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) invoked the shooting of former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.) on Thursday to explain why he doesn’t want to meet his constituents in a town hall meeting.

“At this time, there are groups from the more violent strains of the leftist ideology, some even being paid, who are preying on public town halls to wreak havoc and threaten public safety,” Gohmert said in a statement, perpetuating GOP politicians’ unfounded claims that “paid protesters” are disrupting the meetings.

Gohmert then mentioned Giffords, who was shot in the head in 2011 during a meeting with constituents. She survived, but six others died in the tragedy."

------------

That's right folks, the town meeting "incidents" have even spooked the king of the cuckoo bananas.
I give Louie credit for not claiming George Soros is behind them but that may be implied by "paid protesters".

Wonder if the constituents at these meetings enjoy being called "paid protesters".

This is the first time in a while I've seen the rethugs in a tizzy.

We've never seen a president more hated than Trump at this point in a new administration.

His supporters all have their heads up their arses pretending Trump isn't a YUUUUGE asshole.

When they start to waiver Trump and crew will simply put out thicker smoke and mirrors. BOOM, and they'll be back in the fold nice and cozy in the alternative universe of Trump and the Alt-right.

Best headline and report of the week:

'Sinking like a rock': Trump's approval rating keeps plummeting

President Donald Trump received his lowest approval rating since he took office, according to a poll released on Wednesday.

Thirty-eight percent of voters in the latest Quinnipiac University poll said they approve of the job Trump is doing, down from a 42% approval rating in Quinnipiac's last poll on February 7.

The Quinnipiac poll shows a severe partisan split — 83% of Republicans said they approve of Trump's job performance, while 91% of Democrats disapprove.

"President Donald Trump's popularity is sinking like a rock," Tim Malloy, the assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, said in a release. "He gets slammed on honesty, empathy, level-headedness and the ability to unite. And two of his strong points, leadership and intelligence, are sinking to new lows.

"This is a terrible survey one month in," Malloy added.

The Goopers keep deluding themselves about this hideous man. They keep telling themselves that because he got elected (via electoral college) that the country is behind him.

The country is NOT supporting the jackass and his administration, which tried to get the FBI to quash the reports about Russia.

It isn't just Americans who see Lord Dampnut for the narcissistic bully that he is, 1.8 million Brits don't want him to visit their country. Britain is our closest ally and they detest the JOTUS (jackass of the U.S.) as much as America does.

Ducky: "I wonder if the town hall protesters are independents or right wingers coming in to the light."

The latest polls show that Independents no longer support Trump, and reports on the town hall meetings in red states show that plenty of people there are onto the con that is Trump. Bloggers can deny all they want, but facts are stubborn things. Lord Dampnut's administration's promise to repeal and replace the ACA isn't going as swimmingly as they planned.

Yeah. They're still telling themselves that it's everyone else's fault that Lord Dampsnut is doing so poorly. But look closely at what he hasn't accomplished in his first month. Executive orders are NOT legislation. And pissing off our southern neighbor is not foreign policy.

What trump has done well, however, is reminding the country and the world of how many electoral votes he got. Amazing leadership, eh?

Anon @5:46 See my comment above. His numbers have been headed south since the election.

RN, it's a good bet that #45's supporters understand what's going on vis-a-vis his polls, they just don't want to internalize it because that would be admitting they backed a terrible candidate. In Gooper world, as long as you're ideologically on point with them, you could be a misogynistic bully, sexual assaulter, racist, xenophobe, and thief all wrapped into one, and they'd still vote for you.

Oh, wait...

America's JOTUS:

"Multiple U.S. officials briefed on the matter" told CNN that the agency declined to publicly corroborate White House chief of staff Reince Priebus's claim that reports of ties between Team Trump and Moscow were "total baloney."
Trump has sparred openly with the U.S. intelligence community since its assertion that Russia interfered with last year's election with the intention of helping him win.

Since his inauguration, Trump has specifically turned his anger on intelligence "leaks" to the "fake news media."

THE NEWS IS REAL; TRUMP IS FAKE.

Interestingly, Trump said that the leaks are true. It is the reporting of the leaks that is false. What the hell does that mean?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Jerry, most of the time trump doesn't know what he's talking about.
