As long as a politician hates gays and abortion and makes a show of saying "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays", he can be as bestial as he wants and the Christian Right will still support him. Fungible, indeed. More like fungal.

Gee, I never realized that taking a strong outspoken stand for the Christian faith meant sexually abusing women. Who would have guessed!
