Yeah. You heard/read that right.

The Trump administration takes a bold stance against mother’s milk. On Sunday, The New York Times revealed that the Trump administration conducted extensive hard-ball diplomacy to stop an effort by Ecuador to secure a World Health Organization resolution promoting breast feeding.

What's next?

Trump administration against pediatrician visits for infants and babies?

Trump administration against vaccinations for infants and babies?

Trump administration against well-baby clinics?

What kind of people are against breast feeding, the most nutritious and beneficial way of feeding newborns? Is Trump beholden to Nestle, the company that promotes baby formula? What possible reason is there for an administration to be against breast feeding for infants and babies?

Oh.

Wait.

This is why:

“Based on decades of research, the resolution says that mother’s milk is healthiest for children and countries should strive to limit the inaccurate or misleading marketing of breast milk substitutes,” The Times reported. “Then the United States delegation, embracing the interests of infant formula manufacturers, upended the deliberations.”

Venal bastards!

This is an oil painting by Charles Gray of me breast-feeding my infant son -- circa 1970:

I was against Trumpism before it even existed!

The Trump administration goes to incredible lengths to put corporate profits ahead of the American people, even when it comes to mothers and their babies. The U.S. delegation to the World Health Organization recently attempted to block a resolution to encourage breast-feeding. Why? Because the corporations that make baby formula opposed it.

The power corporations now wield over our political system is out of control. From baby formula to tax cuts, the Trump administration is willing to do the bidding of the rich and powerful at the expense of the American people and the rest of the world, including infants.

How whether a mother chooses to breast or bottle feed became political in the name of profit is abhorrent. The evidence of the numerous healthful benefits of breast feeding is irrefutable. The government has no goddamn business or right to attempt to suppress this truth. The bastards.
