In the meeting Trump held with staff and Congressional leaders yesterday and in which Trump called General "Mad Dog" Mattis the "world's most overrated general," Nancy was the only one to stand up the the ignorant bully and Maniac-in-Chief.

. Trump projects his weaknesses and gigantic flaws onto other people all the time. It's comical for the weakest president in US history to denigrate General Mattis. Mattis is admired and beloved by the military. Trump's slander will not sit well with the troops and brass.
Trump belittles a decorated American general but has nothing but good words for the cut-throat killer dictator, Putin. What a disgrace to America Trump is!
I was taken aback today with the news that Elijah Cummings had passed away. I remember seeing a video of him a few weeks ago and he did not look good. At least to me.
He's from a generation that will not be replaced. The memories and experiences he lived just are too hard for those that never experienced them to fathom.
And his death will further highlight the problem we have in the White House. When everyone is attacked personally, called names, and demonized, how on earth can you be the consoler in chief? How can you bring the country together with your opponents?
Al Gore gave perhaps the best speech of his life when he conceded in Florida. No personal criticism of George Bush, just a restatement of our Democratic values, even though in his heart, he believed, I'm sure, he had won the presidency.
How will President Trump respond to Cummings' death? If at all?
Dave, Trump gave his "warmest condolences" to the Cummings family. The rest of his note sounded like someone else wrote it. Trump, as we've see with our own eyes, is incapable of human empathy. For evidence, all we have to do is look at the photo of him giving a thumbs-up while Melania is holding a baby whose parents were killed at the massacre in El Paso. Who does such a thing? A person devoid of human empathy, that's who. And I'm pretty sure Trump didn't acquire any empathy since he showed the world his lack of it in El Paso.
PS. I read AOW's blog earlier today and saw where "Franco" cheered the death of Cummings, calling him "evil." That same Franco deifies Trump. I saw your question to them and not one of them answered it honestly or at all. You have to understand that cultists will never abandon their leader. Read about Scientology and how its followers deify L. Ron, and then reacquaint yourself with Jim Jones and the Jamestown massacre.
I've looked at their blogs and not a one had anything to say about what Trump did to the Kurds, his giving into Erdogan without any concessioins from him, and his disrespect to General Mattis. I read their claims that Trump never said anything about a quid pro quo (although Mulvaney admitted to it yesterday), and the Mother Ship is crying that America always asks for something from countries before giving them money. What they seem not to know is that when you ask a foreign government to interfere in our elections, that's a crime.
They keep deluding themselves and will never see Trump for the corrupt liar and probably mentally deteriorating man that he is.
You can't argue with cultists, and those folks are the very definition of that word.

A few of those folks did in fact respond. The military guys Law&Order and Bocopro suddenly think the US military leadership are a bunch of conflicted leaders. And that includes their opinions of Mattis, McMaster and former CoS John Kelly. Of course they had great respect for them when they were named, but here's what I have learned.
The Trump supporters work like this. They love his general and appointments when they start. But as soon as they have an opinion that differs from Trump's, then they become losers. So as long as everyone is in agreement with the boss, life is good. Once you're not, you suck and are a traitor.
How would Pres Trump survive with a Lincolnesque Team of Rivals?
BTW... you can bet he's gonna have strong words for Sen McConnell who slammed our current Middle East actions in a WAPO editorial today.
