America's Immoral President

America's immoral president inserted himself into a situation where he had no understanding of the UCMJ, and certainly no understanding of morality. Gallagher's fellow SEALS turned him in. They knew he broke the UCMJ law against killing a captive enemy combatant and posing with the deceaased's body But that didn't stop America's immoral president from interceding in a case that the Navy was handling.

"He was limp and dusty from an explosion, conscious but barely. A far cry from the fierce, masked Islamic State fighters who once seized vast swaths of Iraq and Syria, the captive was a scraggly teenager in a tank top with limbs so thin that his watch slid easily off his wrist. Chief Petty Officer Edward Gallagher and other Navy SEALs gave the young captive medical aid that day in Iraq in 2017, sedating him and cutting an airway in his throat to help him breathe. Then, without warning, according to colleagues, Chief Gallagher pulled a small hunting knife from a sheath and stabbed the sedated captive in the neck.

The same Chief Gallagher who later posed for a photograph holding the dead captive up by the hair has now been celebrated on the campaign trail by President Trump, who upended the military code of justice to protect him from the punishment resulting from the episode.

Prodded by Fox News, Mr. Trump has made Chief Gallagher a cause célèbre, trumpeting him as an argument for his re-election. The violent encounter in a faraway land opened a two-year affair that would pit a Pentagon hierarchy wedded to longstanding rules of combat and discipline against a commander in chief with no experience in uniform but a finely honed sense of grievance against authority.

The highest ranks in the Navy insisted Chief Gallagher be held accountable. Mr. Trump overruled the chain of command and the secretary of the Navy was fired."

Marine calls president a “motherf-er,” says half the Corps doesn’t support him

Dave Miller said...

Yes Anon, he is the CinC.

And yes, he has every right to make the decision he did.

But that does not make it a good, right, or even just decision.

Shaw... I wonder how the law and order military types are spinning this?

Oh, that's right, they won't even enter into a question about it.

And this "marine" polled half the Corps? Just silliness.

IMPEACH THE BASTARD!

We believe the marine. Anonymous has his head up Trump's anus.

Cadet Bonespurs has ZERO idea what it takes to serve our nation. what he did by pardoning those who spit on the service of all who came before and who served with honor and integrity, is unforgivable. He made a mockery of the oath we all took when we put on the uniform of the United States military. No wonder the Trumpanzees have no problem with it -- they also make a mockery of America.

Sounds like something ISIS might do. Or some other barbarians.

Therefore, apparently Trump approves of barbaric practices by military personnel.

A bigger, more stupid jackzss has never before occupied the Oval Office.

Well said, RN. And let's hope we never again have such a criminal dolt in the wh.

The dems need to come up with a sane candidate except uncle joe. Sad to say he is the dems best option and he would be a comic relief compared to what we have now. Lying lizzy believes the government should run your life and the Bern is dropping from sight. As a country we should be able to do better.

Almost ANY democrat is far preferable to the Great Orange Blob.

Right now Joe Biden beats Trump by double digits in every poll (except one outlier, from the middle of October to the latest, Nov. 20, according to Real Clear Politics, which reports ALL polls.

Did you read that correctly, skud? DOUBLE DIGITS. In an Oct. 20th poll, FAUX NOOZ has Biden ahead of Trump 51 - 39.

I'm backing Joe Biden, for now, but I agree -- ANY Democrat is FAR better than the scum that currently infests the WH.

He has not gotten the nomination yet or was he promised it four years ago. Gabbard seems to be the most competent and sane candidate and as for RN's quip about he who stomped the -H-, I agree. I am tired of listening to him blovate, say how the china deal is happening and how ivanka has a brain. I am also tired of the leftists parade about how tolerant they are. Guess they should limit that to as long as you agree with us.

Ms. Shaw, Have you recovered from the storm?

Lindsay is going to help drive down Biden's poll numbers with an investigation. AKA the Senate republicans are planning running the HRC/Benghazi gambit again. Expect to hear a lot about Joe and Hunter Biden's "corruption" in the run up to the election if Biden is the nominee.

For the record, I like Joe Biden. But I'll be voting for either Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren in the primary. As a country we CAN do better by selecting either of these excellent candidates as our nominee.

skud: "Ms. Shaw, Have you recovered from the storm?"

I live on Boston Harbor. All we got was a dusting. I don't even have to dig my car out.

Gabbard is Steve Bannon's favorite too. She doesn't have the temperament to be president, and she's way too young. At 37 or 38, she need to mature a bit more and maybe she could run for mayor of her town.

I actually like Gabbard. Perhaps in 12 or 16 years she might be a viable candidate. If she's even still interested.

Neither Warren or Sanders works for me. Perhaps Buttigieg. But unfortunately he does very poorly in the black community.

I must say while all candidates would be better than Trump nobody in the field is either exciting or charismatic. IMO.

Glad you survived the snow.
Gabbard is young but so was the swell guy. She doesn't have the temperament, look at who is the president now talk about not having the temperament. We need to get away from only electing old white guys and bring some new thinking into the political arena. Look at congress who for the most part are old white guys. Better yet we need term limits for everyone including a one term, six year president that way they do not start campaigning on the day after they are elected.
Contrary to your beliefs, I am not a trump supporter but the dems have been pushing impeachment since the day after the election because they made a bad choice in their candidate. Neither party has gotten anything done for three years, not immigration reform, not USMCA, not healthcare reform and this is because they are focused on impeachment or stopping it.
