Coming up on two years and this is still all the dems can talk about. Not the incompetency of the current administration, not inflation which is hurting the majority of the country, except the rich. Gas is on it's way up and the fist bump didn't seem to have much impact. We have a speaker who is racist against latins, a VP who called her boss not a leader and a party bowing to a wacko group run by a liar. I guess if I was facing all that I would go all in for targeting trump hoping to change the optics.

Well, skud, ole buddy, maybe for you it's no big deal when a president plans to overturn an election months before it's held by planning to call it rigged and claiming there was election fraud. Maybe you don't care that Trump KNEW he lost but continued to push his Big Lie to the point where he incited an insurrection on his own government and encouraged people to kill his own vice president.

Inflation is temporary, high gas prices are temporary (I've lived through these before), but the end of democracy is forever.

Some people care about that; others just want to whine about temporary issues to score points.

What Trump and his enablers did and is doing to America should concern you -- the damage may be permanent.

skud framed America's biggest and perhaps most threatening issue quite well Shaw. It is those who willfully ignore the intent, the motiation, and the direct actions of tRump to destroy our democtatic processes and institutions from within. People just like skud. Unfortunately there are enough peope that still suppprt tRump combined with the ignorance of ambivalence in those who hate the democratic party just enough to keeping voting against their own best interests.

We have a large problem that ain't gong away any time soon. Our democratic reublic might fall but the useful idiots will be around a lon time.

All your points are valid and inflation is indeed temporary as the administration said over a year ago. Inflation up 8.3% is not a big deal to the rich but to the working family or the poor it is difficult to deal with. I don't think the constant obsession over trump affects the average family and it will be settled in courts, eventually.

It is understandable that the democrats and news media focus all their attention on trump because they have nothing to run on. Biden's accomplishments are significant and he is doing a good job of pointing them out. Billions to push the green agenda by restricting the availability of gas and raising prices, billions to pass debt along to those who didn't sign up for a loan, billions to hire IRS agents. He is watching the taxpayers money by staying away from any help at the border and appointing a czar who hasn't done a thing she was assigned to do. Good job and you should be proud to be a democrat which represents the rich and elite class.

Conservative Charlie Sykes: "Of course Donald J. Trump lied. Of course he tried to overturn a free and fair election.

Of course he fomented a violent insurrection and sabotaged the peaceful transfer of power.

We know all of this, because he’s told us so and, as the January 6 Committee reminded us again Thursday, the evidence is overwhelming and damning. Even the Wall Street Journal editorial board gets it: “The Jan. 6 committee probably won’t get Mr. Trump under oath,” the paper writes this morning, “but the evidence of his bad behavior is now so convincing that political accountability hardly requires it.”

skudrunner doesn't care about this. What he doesn't acknowledge is that unless we confront this threat to our American democracy, it won't matter how high gas prices are or anything about inflation because our democratic republic will be GONE!

You have proven my point that the rich are not affected by inflation because it is just an inconvenience not a crisis. What does it say about the democrats not caring about the middle class and the problems they are facing because they are focused on trump. Is that obsession a diversion for the incompetence of the left leaders from defunding the police showing their intolerance toward brown people by there not in my neighborhood and that is from a brown female. Maybe it is their speaker saying all immigrants are good for are working the fields.
