What's going on here?

Yesterday, the Department of Transportation issued a memo that says DOT and DOT-supported programs should "give preference to communities with marriage and birth rates higher than the national average."

Keeping em in the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant.

Message: A women's value is to produce offspring and care for the husband and kiddies. Nothing more.

Purpose: An attempt to marginalize the influence of women across the board.

Bringing back patriarchy with a vengeance.

Project 2025 Garbage? Me thinks so

This is affirmative action for Trumpublicans/MAGAs/Christian Nationalists. The only sort of AA that they approve of.

Fortunately the true majority of the country does not share the MAGA, Christian Nationalist, Project 2025, Trumpublican agenda. When the sleepers wake up and realize they've been hoodwinked and played the strategy will ultimately backfire and burn their backward Neanderthal thinking.

Things just getting more combative. The directive to ignore help to anyone with a trump sign in their yard and now preference for communities having a high birth rate. Duffy is a big family guy but he shouldn't use his post to target his beliefs.
Les, How does that marginalize the influence of women.

Think long term. But first give up the misplaced belief the trump has any redeeming values. Then, hit the history books.

It on you to figure it out. I simply point it out. You do what you want with it. I'm simply tired of suffering fools.

We are living in very dangerous times. And we are governed by incompetent lunatics. God save us all.

We certainly are RIGHT NOW..

We escaped relatively unscathed after the Bone Spur's fist chaotic romp. We very well may not be so fortunate this time.

The guys putting a Fox host in charge of the military, a January 6 supporter in charge of the FBI, and an anti-vax quack in charge of the health department are lecturing everyone on having “the best standards in who you’re hiring”

It's almost impossible to keep up on this, but let's recap.

Thursday before any black boxes had been found, before any cause was found, President Trump, citing common sense and no evidence, said the mid air crash between an Army Black Hawk Helicopter and an American Airline commuter jet was due to DEI initiatives within the FAA.

With the singular exception of Skud, who has been critical of late of Trump, all the other MAGA lovers who comment here worked overtime to deflect, because the truth, that the president had outright lied about the flight and could not bring himself to care for the victims, was impossible to refute.

This afternoon we now have this...

Rep. Sam Graves, the Missouri Republican in charge of overseeing the Federal Aviation Administration in the House, said Friday that diversity initiatives at the agency had nothing to do with a crash between a commercial airplane and an Army helicopter that killed 67 people earlier this week.

Too bad Graves does not have the "common sense" of a president who shoots his mouth off way too often, without facts.

What is not brought up is for a controller to be certified it takes almost three years of training. Three years ago we were in the aftermath of the covid scare when hiring was ceased so there was little effect of diversity because there were few hired. I do support hiring the best people to do the job even if they check a box for diversity. Getting hired and getting through the ATC academy is tough and the job is tougher.
You are talking about politics so common sense and competence are swear word.
