Trump is going after the Democratic Party, and wants to destroy it.

 


Is Trump planning to eliminate the Democratic Party and  heading toward a one-party system -- a dictatorship? Everything Trump and the Trumpublicans are doing points in that direction.

This is just another piece of Trump's plan for the Viktor Obanization of America.




With Orders, Investigations and Innuendo, Trump and G.O.P. Aim to Cripple the Left 

The president and his allies in Congress are targeting the financial, digital and legal machinery that powers the Democratic Party and much of the progressive political world.

It is not unusual for partisans in Congress or their outside allies to push for investigations into political groups on the other side of the aisle. But using the levers of government to target the opposition has long been considered an abuse of power, sometimes leading to prosecution. Mr. Trump himself was impeached in 2019 for pressuring the Ukrainian government to investigate the Bidens. 

Mr. Trump’s continued willingness to defy that norm — including in a grievance-filled speech at the Justice Department on Friday, during which he name-checked a litany of critics and called them “horrible people,” “thugs” or “scum” — has Democrats sounding the alarm. 

 “The breadth is breathtaking,” said Cole Leiter, executive director of Americans Against Government Censorship, a coalition of progressive groups and labor unions created last year to defend against an anticipated Republican assault. Taken together, Mr. Leiter said, the efforts amounted to an attempt “to cut the legs out from their opposition.”

At least both sides share something in common. According to chuckie schumer the democrats policy is committed to stopping trump from doing anything even if it hurts the American people, ie budget resolution and shut down the government.
Not surprising trump would want the same thing. The problem is where is government for the people.

Even the Capitana of the HMS Mothership, at least earlier today, called what Trump is doing retribution. Which, unless I'm mistaken, is not a core requirement of governing.

This crowd, this administration, has no desire at all to govern in a multiparty, bipartisan democracy, or if you want, a republic. They lie to bend public opinion, are using the levers of power directly, think DOJ, to go after past political foes and members of Congress who did not support Trump's support of lawlessness on J6 and are themselves actively ignoring US Federal Court orders.

It was US courts that forced the US to admit black people to public schools in the 1950's. Did US government officials have a right to ignore this decisions simply because, as Trump has stated, the ppl voted for this?

Was it judicial over reach and activist for the SCOTUS to decide in the Loving case in the 1960's that black and white ppl had a right to be married in all of our states? Did government officials have a right to reject that decision, attack those judges and foment violent against them, simply because they did not like those decisions?

Certainly back in the day quite a few racists would have taken that position.

Would any of you conservatives reading this and the rest of you MAGATrumpers support that?

What POTUS takes swipes at NASA, lying directly, along with his spooning buddy Musk, about the astronauts who spent the last nine months at the space station?

Think I'm wrong? Think Trump and Musk have not lied about why those astronauts were in space so long? Here's some of Trump's statement...

“I have just asked Elon Musk and @SpaceX to ‘go get’ the 2 brave astronauts who have been virtually abandoned in space by the Biden Administration. ...we are accelerating the return of the astronauts, which was postponed, kind of, to a ridiculous degree... they [the astronauts] were left up there for political reasons, which is not good.

Even Musk publicly said "They [again, the astronauts] were left up there for political reasons..."

Wow, it sounds positively terrible. Except it's not true. none of it. They were not left up there for political reasons. AT. ALL.

Here's the reality, the truth... from ARS Technica writer Eric Berger who has been covering NASA and space issues for years...

"The reality is that NASA set a plan for the return of Wilmore and Williams last August. The spacecraft that brought them back to Earth on Tuesday safely docked to the space station in September. They could have come home at any time since. NASA—not the Biden administration, which all of my reporting indicates was not involved in any decision-making—decided the best and safest option was to keep Wilmore and Williams in orbit until early this year. Musk knew this plan. He had to sign off on it. Senior NASA officials earlier this month confirmed, publicly and on the record, that the decision was made by the space agency in the best interests of the International Space Station Program. Not for political reasons.

This information is public knowledge!

Why, except for political gain, would both Trump and Musk lie about this? Is this what a US President does?

Is that what's best for America? Is lying to the American people helping "Make America Great Again?

Is lying about this, attacking judges, lying about political foes, admittedly seeking retribution and ignoring the rule of law best for the US?

Again guys... none of your stinking videos. Just your words. Man up. At least Skud is a stand up enough guy to actually answer questions directly.

The rest of you MAGA folks? I doubt it.

i don't even know where to post this stuff, the lawlessness and the undoing of democracy in America is happening so fast.

This statement, from Homeland Security official Robert L. Cerna should concern all citizens, even the MAGA crowd, but I doubt it will. Speaking about the Venezuelans who were accused of criminal activity and removed under the Alien Sedition Act, Cerna had this to say, justifying the actions of the Trump Administration...

“While it is true that many of the TdA members removed under the [Alien Enemies Act] do not have criminal records in the United States, that is because they have only been in the United States for a short period of time...”

Somehow Cerna, Trump and his administration know what these guys will do in the future. And they are so certain, without any proof, that it's okay to call them criminals and subject them to essentially extraordinary rendition.

With admittedly, no crimes being committed.

Rule of law ppl my eye.

When was the first time we heard this language from a party that lost a presidential election? Let me help you out. in modern times, it was in 2008, after Barack Obama won a decisive victory, mandate, the Senate, overwhelmingly I might add, and the House.

And Minority Leader McConnell set out to attack, obfuscate and totally derail any legislation proposed by Obama. Were you as worried then as you seem to be now? Were you disgusted then? Did you criticize McConnell?

Of course not, so your words ring hollow.

Dave, the problem with any story is there are two sides and the truth is somewhere in the middle. "Is that what's best for America? Is lying to the American people helping" Remember he is as sharp as a tack, Biden is just fine, the border is secure, I will not pardon my son and that is just a few lies to the American people so again the truth is someone is in the middle or better yet politicians lie for a living.

The quote from mcconnell was " “the single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.” He didn't state he wanted to stop barry from doing anything like shumer did when he said "“And I’ll tell you one thing: We are totally united in one thing — many things — but one thing above all, we are united in going after Trump"

The good thing is trump is through after this term and the process starts again. The dems need to decide on a platform because the single platform of we hate trump will not work and that is all they seem to have.

My neighbors are a mixed bag. He's from Philadelphia. She's from Pakistan but has since become an American citizen. They both are Ph.D.s and both have postdocs. A couple of nice smarty pants.

But she, being from Pakistan, is pro-Gaza and hates how people are getting killed left and right over there. She posts about her displeasure on Facebook.

Last week her Facebook page was removed. Disappeared. Vanished. So she tried to set up a new one. Turns out she had to call Facebook and get on a video call with them to prove who she was. They were reluctant to let her set up a new page but finally relented.

I found out about it when she was refriending everyone on her new page. I wonder if I'm on a list now.

Add to this McConnell's hope and work to cause a US Pres not to balance his mandate, but to cause him to fail, and I'll just yawn at your both siderism.

My point stands, as does my question... the GOP started this trend. We're you as disgusted and sarcastic back then as you are now. Sadly, I doubt it.

At least I can point to the written record where I've decried Dem and GOP presidents back to at least Reagan for their foibles, lies and bad policy decisions.

BTW Skud... I agree all politicians lie to some degree. Not all however, lie to federal judges. I seem to remember a ferw years back the GOP used to believe lying to judges, the FBI and in court was an impeachable offense, a high crime and misdemeanor.

Now? Not so much.

Whatever lies Biden shared, made or told, pale in comparison to Trump who lies every time he opens his mouth.

Anyone who cannot see the difference in the everyday falsehoods of political doublespeak and Trump attacking his perceived enemies with torrents of lies designed to whip his base into a frenzy, is not paying attention.

Or is willfully ignorant.
