The majority of Americans and the world see Trump as a mad man.

The guy who brags about acing cognitive tests -- (which he's taken more than once in a year -- most cognitively healthy seniors get this test just once a year during their annual physical) -- posted this.

We have a mentally unbalanced lunatic leading the country, and the Republican Party is wholly responsible for this disaster.

From AI:

"As of mid-2026, international admiration for the US under President Donald Trump is deeply polarized, with low confidence in his leadership among key allies, particularly in Europe, while maintaining higher support in specific countries like Nigeria and Israel. Most surveyed nations report a decline in favorability of the US.

Reputation Trends: While Trump claims the US is highly respected, international polls often show the US is viewed as a threat to international stability, and his "America First" agenda is perceived as reducing US soft power."

As of May 7, 2026, President Donald Trump's national approval rating has hit second-term lows, often placing in the mid-to-high 30s, with widespread disapproval driven by the war in Iran and rising inflation.

Key polls show his disapproval rating reaching roughly 62%, and some aggregators show his net approval at approximately -18.4%

Except for some politically far right and authoritarian countries, Trump is disliked internationally, and he and his policies are unpopular here in the US.

I thought this was an excellent description of Trump:

Curious to know who AI thought was doing Cocaine off the Resolute Desk. Thought that was Trump's area of expertise, not that he ever admitted to doing that specific drug. I'm sure it's in reference to the bag of cocaine found in the coat room after a tour had been through. Right, because Biden was such a coke fiend back in the day (heaviest of snarks).

It baffles me - how is it that the majority of humans see Trump for the danger that he is but our current Democratic leadership is acting as if everything can be just undone once they retake power, as if the same Corporate overlords don't already own them too.

The game has changed - the MAGA regime threw the rule book out when they implemented Project 2025. Anyone who doesn't know that is a political dinosaur who needs to get out of the way or risk being run over by the kids who are all geared up to Fix Something for the Good of The Nation.

At least that's how I see it in the most simplistic terms.

He learned well from history. Especially from reading his heroes (Hitler) book.

Remember when conservatives and the MAGA crowd wanted America to respected around the world?

I guess they were lying.

As an elderly reader, my den has around 2000 books. These days i remembered a patricular one -
"It Can't Happen Here is a 1935 satirical novel by Sinclair Lewis that serves as a cautionary tale about the rise of fascism in the United States, written in response to the rise of Hitler and Mussolini in Europe and American populism. The story follows newspaper editor Doremus Jessup as he watches a charismatic demagogue, Berzelius "Buzz" Windrip, win the presidency by promising to restore America to greatness and then systematically dismantle democracy, establishing a totalitarian state with a paramilitary force. The novel explores how easily democratic norms can erode through political polarization, "us vs. them" rhetoric, and the normalization of attacks on the press, making it a prescient and still-relevant warning about the fragility of democracy." Surely Trump never read it ---
unless it was in comic form?

As always Shaw, a thought experiment should accompany everything Trump does... it goes something like this.

What if Joe Biden had done this, then how would people have reacted?

What if Joe Biden had botched a military operation and cost US service men their lives. Would conservatives have been up in arms? Of course. In fact, they were. Now? Why the silence?

What if gas prices had risen to record high levels under Biden, would conservatives have been hammering him and angry? Of course. Again, in fact they were. Now we hear from those same ppl that oil is a commodity and the President does not have control over prices. Why the change?

I could on and on, but I'm sure you all get the point.
