Donald Trump: Democratic Party Voters' BFF

The Trumper's supporters are not put off by any of the vile, puerile antics of the man they want to put in the White House.  And we liberals heartily encourage his supporters to stay with this buffoon and encourage the rest of the primary states to go all out for him to secure the T-GOP nomination for the presidency.

Why?  We'll let this writer and number cruncher from the conservative Weekly Standard, Jay Cost, tell you why:

"Let me state flatly and unequivocally that if Donald Trump is the nominee, Hillary Clinton’s floor in the electoral college is 400 votes. That’s the floor, number one. Number two, kiss the Senate goodbye. I mean, it’s not even going to be a close call. It will be a bloodbath. Number three, and this is a little more controversial at this point, but I would give the Republicans no better than 40 percent odds hold the House of Representatives.

This guy is an abject disaster for the Republican Party in November, there is no other way to put it. And the notion that he’s going to bring in some tranche of voters is just a complete fiction, for two reasons: number one, there aren’t enough of them, okay?

I live in Western Pennsylvania. I live right near places that, up until very recently, were voting Democratic. And yeah, can Trump bring some new voters in from Beaver County? Yeah, maybe he can. But I’m telling you what, I live in Butler County, which has been voting Republican since 1856, and he’s going to get killed in Butler County. He is going to get killed in the Cranberry Township suburbs in Butler County. Because people are going to look at him and they are going to think, “No Way.” You watch, suburban women in Cranberry Township are going to bolt [from] him in droves. And the same thing’s going to happen… replicate that times 100 in the Philadelphia suburbs. It’s going to be an absolute slaughter."  -- h/t The National Memo

So yes, please proceed, Mr. Trump. We've been telling the Goops for months that you are a disaster not just for the country, but for the Republican Party, however, your supporters and other disaffected, angry voters will have none of it.  Your supporters have said they want to burn the place down and destroy the party that's been lying to them and ignoring them for decades. So here's their chance to do that very thing by continuing to support a disaster like you.

They're sticking with you like a Man-O-War sticks to its victim.

We wish you well, and we hope you get your way and lead the Goopers to the electoral humiliation they will so richly deserve.

I will make America Grrrrrrrrrrrrreat!

Taking the Senate back is going to be a great bonus prize. Trump is going to be down ballot poison. I'm hopeful that he will be toxic enough to take out my representative. Mine and the Koch brothers, I should say. And it's not just Herr Drumpf at the top of the ticket. I'm looking forward to hearing, "Do Your Job" about a bazillion times between now and the election.

Kevin, it is amazing to witness the fierce loyalty of Trump's supporters even though every polling organization has predicted electoral armaggedon for the TGOP if The Trumper get the nomination. They really do have a death wish.

Today's polling methods are far, far different from those of even 10 years ago. Five Thirty Eight's Nate Silver, for example, has been very accurate down to the last vote in the last two presidential elections. Remember how shocked the pundits in the GOP were when Mr. Obama swamped Mittens in the 2012 presidential election? They live in their own bubble that doesn't allow any reality to seep in.

This isn't going away and conservative newspapers are now reporting on it.

Maybe Trump's secret service code name should be "jellyfish" because a jellyfish's mouth also functions as its anus.

A Drumpf victory would be a disaster for the rational conservative movement and a bigger disaster for America.

On the other had a win by HRC in the general, a flip of the senate, and a weakening (or flip) of the house will, in my never humble opinion serve to create greater divisiveness and seething unrest in the conservative GOP/TeaPublican base.

Conservative pols, conservative pundits, conservative Media, as well as the internet to name a few have, over the last several years, been responsible for creating the political monster that is Drumpf.

Divisiveness and political unrest will continue if progressives, when gaining the upper hand again, choose to rub conservatives faces in it so to speak.

It will be interesting to watch if there is a large turn of events in federal government power elite come November.

As a principled fiscal conservative on the other hand I just might being saying I told you so as I rub their noses in it.

More popcorn, please

No, this ain't going away.
I wonder if Rafael still thinks his boy is the anointed one.

What a freak show. There's a possibility Trump comes out looking good.

I find it amusing to read right wing blogs where a scant few weeks ago, they were crying and blustering about how awful Trump is, only to now see that they are defending him to the max, even when they disagree with 90% of what he says. Seems it's always party over country for the radical right.

Just when you thought they'd pegged the weirdometer

What could possibly go wrong

Let's not forget the fact that the GOP welcomed in the new Obama administration in 2009 by vowing to obstruct and sabotage any legislation or program he proposed. And then after the 2010 and 2012 elections when the GOP increased its majorities in Congress, it continued, with a vengeance, its obstruction -- Ted Cruz shutting down the government (which cost the country billions?)?

The Tea Party GOP rubbed it in America's face for the past 7 1/2 years by doing all it could to disrupt and deny anything the Obama administration tried to do to move the country forward. It is to Obama's great credit that he accomplished as much as he did with the obstruction and tantrum-throwing that the opposition threw at him.

I for one don't give a flying donut about what happens to the Tea Party GOP after Trump gets through with it. What Trump is and what he stands for is as plain as he is repulsive, and yet they bitterly cling to him. Let them reap the whirlwind they've been courting for the last 7 12 years. Sometimes a sick party has to hit rock bottom before it recovers and gets healthy again.

Behold Your Modern Republican Party!

The Republican presidential campaign just got even weirder. After a pro-Ted Cruz group ran a nasty ad about Donald Trump's wife, Trump said something nasty about Cruz's wife, and a too-timely story appeared in the Trump-friendly National Enquirer about the Cruzes' private life. All nasty stuff. In his denial today, however, Cruz was talking about about Roger Stone, Trump's political advisor, when he went off on a rather bizarre tangent.

"Stone is a man for whom a term was coined for copulating with a rodent. Let me be clear. Donald Trump may be a rat, but I have no desire to copulate with him."

Things that drive Goopers crazy:

Obama has a 50% approval rating.

They really don't get it, do they.

I guess the point I was trying to make escapes you.

So, it is what it is.

The self fulfilling prophesy.

Everyone receives what they sow.

Just remember that Shaw.

For me, I don't give a flying f**k what happens any longer because NOTHING is going to change regardless who is in charge.

So long Shaw. You're either part of the problem or you're part of the solution. The choice is yours.

Ted Cruz certainly will not be the first Family Values republican to drive the "Do As I Say, Not As I Do" train.

Look to the women if this political party has any hope of repairing itself. Laura Bush. Olympia Snowe. Nikki Haley. Megyn Kelley. Certainly a large number of local female politicians that bear the standard for the republican party are decent Americans. Help me out here, there must be at least a half a dozen. Carly?

The more completely and utterly that the republican party self-immolates and turns everything that it has become into ashes, soot and smoke, the sooner and more completely it can rebuild itself into a viable party with the things that remain.

Unfortunately we can't really count on Trump to truly destroy the party of old white men. This is wishful thinking. They will likely continue in their present form until they begin to lose statewide races and eventually local contests. There is a need for penitence and rending of garments.
