Dr. Ben Carson Explains Why He Endorsed The Trumper

What was I thinking?!

Ben Carson:  I didn't really want to endorse Trump, but he promised me a job.

Retired brain surgeon, Dr. Ben Carson, the candidate so many TeaPublicans pinned their delusional hopes on, has just admitted that the Trumper violated the law when he promised Carson a job in his administration, if he endorsed Trump.

Politics as usual, pay to play, the old boys' backroom deals -- everything Trump's supporters say they hate. They say Trump's different, not like the horrid pols they've been sending to Washington. But here we have an example of typical backroom deals to get Trump what he wants. How will he be different as president when the stakes are much, much higher? What will Trump ask for to get things done? And what sort of illegal terms will he offer anyone to get them?

What Trump did is illegal:

U.S. Code › Title 18 › Part I › Chapter 29 › § 59918 U.S. Code § 599 - Promise of appointment by candidate

Whoever, being a candidate, directly or indirectly promises or pledges the appointment, or the use of his influence or support for the appointment of any person to any public or private position or employment, for the purpose of procuring support in his candidacy shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if the violation was willful, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both. (June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 721; Pub. L. 103–322, title XXXIII, § 330016(1)(H), (L), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2147.)

Trump The Wrecking Ball of the Republican Party is a hot mess.

He's insulted women, POWs, whole cultures, promised to break the law by unConstitutionally barring people of certain religions from entering the country.  He flirted with the support of the KKK, bragged about the size of his johnson, and his political rallies have become nothing more than a version of the Fight Club with goons and thugs punching people in their heads, and all manner of crazy out-of-control rants spewing from his purdy little pink mouth.

And now he's promising failed Republican candidates for the presidency a spot in his administration if this country is insane enough to put him in the White House.

A majority of Republican voters do not think the Trumper is honest.

Donald Trump is an American disaster.

"Sure, most Rs will line up behind him if he is not the nominee, but: Across the five states voting today, in preliminary exit poll results, slightly more than half of GOP primary voters say they’d definitely vote for Trump; two in 10 say they’d “probably” support him – and about a quarter of primary voters within his own party say they would not vote for him. That is a lot of voters."

There’s no state today where a majority of voters sees Trump as honest and trustworthy:

The Trump voters are head over heels in love with a dishonest, untrustworthy con man.

Here's another example of Tea Party Republicans lying to themselves trying to convince themselves that a maniac like Trump would make a great president:

"the two GOP candidates who have a realistic path to the White House are outsiders (Cruz and Trump)."

Cruz has been involved in government jobs since he left university. He's spent his entire life at the teat of government. Hardly an outsider. Trump? He's been on the edges of politics and using his wealth to rub shoulders with political insiders -- for example, he includes the Clintons as his friends, invited them to his last wedding. He's an "outsider" only because up to now he hasn't run for any office, but he's been flapping his lips about doing so for years.

"The American people don't give a damn about "policy." The American people want a non-nutty can-do president."

So this "non-nutty" guy the Tea Party is going for is Trump? See how deluded they are. They actually believe the rest of the country thinks like them. In fact Trump is the most disliked candidate since polling organizations have been tracking likeability in candidates. Trump is HATED more than Hillary Clinton! But the Tea Party supporters ignore that. There's no one the TPs hate more than "Hellary," but the American people hate their hero, Trump even more! Trump is not respected by a majority of the American people.

I figured Trump offered the good doctor the Health & Human Services cabinet position.

Shudder.

Now Paul Ryan is trolling for the nomination and Rush is claiming Jeb will mount a comeback at the convention. Utter insanity.

Pm Carpenter on last night's Drumpf Victory speech:

"...Donald Trump, who last night delivered his funniest peech yet. "Trump said … that he was baffled by his imperviousness to attack," as the NY Times reports it. "Confronted with what he called 'mostly false' criticisms, he said, 'my numbers went up. I don’t understand it,' he said Tuesday night, in a rare expression of disbelief at his own success. 'Nobody understands it.'"

I don't often guffaw at the tattered ravings of vile fascists. But last night, Trump's bemused acknowledgement that his democratus ignoramuses are altogether impervious to manifest reason had me in stitches. So it's Onward Crackpot Soldiers, who will savagely dismantle Cleveland if Der Führer is denied."

ARoTPB,

Yes. The whiners and complainers not only are talking themselves into accepting a bloviating baboon, but they're blaming President Obama for their idiocy in allowing the proto-fascist billionaire and woman basher his ascendency. Ha! As usual, they blame everyone but themselves for the rise of Trumpism and his Goon Squads. The TPers have never taken responsibility for their wretched behavior and support of their clown candidates.

As I've repeated so many times, these same people were convinced that Sarah Palin was qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. They are always blinded by their ideology and are always willing to forego doing the right thing in order to get one of their tribe into office. Wait and see how many of them will come around to the Trumper and tell us all what a great world leader he'll be, despite every single disgusting action and word of his that proves the contrary. It doesn't matter. The TeaPublicans are willing to destroy their party to make their point, and would even take the country down the drain as well.

Patriotic, eh? I've seen better self-control in two-year olds.

Ducky, the TGOP is circling the drain. We can't allow them to take the country with them.

Anonymous, lower than 47% of what? If you mean lower than 47% negativity, that's a good thing.

I should have said worse than 47%. HRC is not trusted for her honesty even by her own supporters

Really Shaw, I've started to believe that the trumpalongs are impervious to whatever nefarious activity their hero may engage in. You see, they must believe it is all for the cause, the greater good as they see good.

trump has recently broke the 50% mark with GOP/TeaPublican base. This is going to get very messy methinks.

Trump is the worse thing that's happened to the Republican Party. The Republican Party made it easy for a Trump to get to where he is. They made a thug their representative and the standard bearer for the GOP. Last night Trump showed he's incapable of being a healing candidate and will continue to divide the country. He's a disaster and he belongs to the GOP.
