Donald Trump Changes His Immigration Policy

The central piece of Donald Trump's candidacy is how he'll tackle immigration reform. As you recall, his plan is to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it and to deport 11 million illegals, and then let the "good ones back in."

How he'd accomplish this Herculean task is anyone's guess, including Donnie's, but those two issues got him the Republican nomination for the presidency, and now he's CHANGED HIS POSITION! Even though his spokespeople say he hasn't.  But in Donnie's world anything he says is subject to change and reversal if his poll numbers require it.

And yes, as Eugene Robinson noted below, Donnie's followers have been duped.

From around the Intertubz:

Pierson: "Trump Didn’t Flip-Flop on Immigration, He Just ‘Changed the Words That He Is Saying"

Source: Mediaite

Donald Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson had a unique response to the charge that her boss flip-flopped on immigration Thursday, saying that his position hasn’t changed, but his words have.

“He hasn’t changed his position on immigration, he has changed the words that he is saying,” she insisted.

That elicited laughter from the other panelists. “That would be a change,” responded contributor Amanda Carpenter.

Eugene Robinson, WaPo:

Donald Trump’s supporters can pretend otherwise, but deep down they must know the truth: Trump has been playing them for fools all along. [...]

I realize that most of Trump’s ardent fans do not take kindly to being lectured by the likes of me. But it is with a certain degree of genuine sympathy that I say what has to be said: Your candidate is a flake. A fraud. A bag of air. A con man. A joke.

Well, it's now official - Drumpf has the same policy as every single person on the planet. He's also had every opposing position to every single person on the planet as he's been on every possible side of every issue more than once. It's genius. You can always claim that you speak for the voter when you never settle long enough on a position to cause a ripple on a pond. :)
Seriously, it's hysterical listening to the elderly army still backing this loud mouthed, lying sack of crap racist. They will go to ANY extreme to support the ever-changing pro-Russian criminal activities of Drumpf. I can't wait to gloat after the election and I WILL gloat with pleasure!!
The Repub mayor of my suburban town just came out in support of Hillary. She should - she's one of only a hand full of Repubs in my county and she is a moderate unlike the Alt Right backers of the insane and pretty stupid Drumpf.

I have a suggestion for the Anonymous who came here and whined about my blog:

Don't come here and read it.

It's an obvious solution to Anonymous's discomfort when he reads a Liberal's blog; but as we have all experienced, people like Anonymous aren't smart enough to figure things out themselves, so they have to be told.

Trump pivots to a big creep:

Trump's campaign chief, Stephen Bannon, has a history of domestic violence and voter registration irregularities.

Garbage attracts more garbage.

you know what's funny, shaw, right wing bloggers losing their shit because they know hillary will be the next president...they had a chance to choose any other conservative to oppose her and they chose the one who hillary with her high negatives could trounce. they don't like to be called the stupid party but what else can we call a group of idiots that did that to themselves? and they think trump's somehow gonna change and become the next ronald reagan? oh god it's so funny and sad and actually really really funny -- the stupid party!

You know, I think a good argument can be made that the republicans picked Trump because they do NOT want to win the presidency. They only want to complain and obstruct, and not have to take responsibility for their actions. Anger and hate do not lead to positive actions.

A British guy who sometimes comments on my blog once said that Trump changes his positions like a weathervane in a tornado. He'll say whatever seems convenient at the given moment.

But the shart-fingered vulgarian is deluding himself if he thinks this latest flip-flop will make Latinos warm up to him, after all the stuff he's said about them over the last year. He might lose a few of the alt-right knuckle-draggers, though. His only redeeming feature is that he's utterly incompetent as a politician.

Bannon sounds like a good fit for the team of Trump and Ailes. It's the rich-snotty-frat-boy party!

Amen Anonymous! They continue to be the "Stupid" Party.

Even Marco Rubio didn't have across the board appeal to Latino voters. Cubans aren't exactly the largest Hispanic ethnicity.

Trump has statistically zero appeal whatsoever to Spanish-speaking voters. That will never change. I don't think that voters of Mexican, Central American and South American heritage are anywhere near as stupid and self-deluding as the white, xenophobic demographic that Trump has appealed to so far.

Not including those whose families have lived here since the time of Cortez, most of these people had to work very hard just to get to the U.S. They treasure their U.S. citizenship. They have been fighting institutionalized racism for the better part of a century.

No. They will never fall for a phony like Trump.

Even the younger Cubans are largely leaving the GOP, these days. Here in South Florida, many of the younger Cubans are active in the Democratic party. You're right too, that Cubans are a very special sub-set of Latinos and have little in common with people from Mexico, Central or South America or even our own Puerto Rican brothers and sisters.
