General John Kelly: "He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law."
The situation is so bad he even steamed off Paul LePage.
"Maine Gov. Paul LePage (R), who has proudly defended the GOP nominee amid his many controversies, finally reached his breaking point Thursday, rebuking Trump for not vowing to follow democratic tradition and accept a likely election loss.
“It’s a stupid comment. I mean, come on, get over yourself,” LePage said during an interview with WGAN. “Donald, take your licks, and let’s move on four years.”
---------- I'd say when you lose LePage you're pretty much down to nothing.
Republican leaders are falling over each other to rebuke Trump for this latest outrage, but most of them still won't retract their endorsements. And the reason they're in this mess in the first place is that they spent months being vacillating cowards while Trump gaffed and insulted his way to the nomination. They never made a serious effort to stop him because they were frightened of the knuckle-dragging ignorantsia of their "base", exemplified by the kind of trolls who show up here with their belligerent I-flunked-basic-civics "arguments" in support of Trump's position.
And John McCain, despite his obnoxious recent remarks about Supreme Court nominations, reminds us of a time when Republicans still showed class (I don't think even he's un-endorsed Trump yet, though).
In a relatively short time, Clinton was able to reduce Trump into a frustrated, red-faced, bumbling idiot who could barely get out a coherent sentence. Imagine what a pile of quivering blubber Trump would turn into is a serious international negotiation.
Jerry: Exactly why he can't be President. He can't cope with any kind of verbal challenge or complex interaction, so he usually falls back on bluster and threats in a primitive male-primate dominance-assertion display and then keeps escalating if the other party doesn't back down. That kind of personality can't be given control of a huge global military force with nuclear weapons.

Squatlo has a good post about the wingnuts' efforts to justify Trump by analogy with the Bush/Gore debacle of 2000.

tRump wins the gold for being clueless and thereby unknowingly engineering his own demise.

Ducky,
Wake me up when he loses Art Pope (or Pope's handpuppet, Pat McCrory).

Ugh - you've now ruined toast for me forever! :)
That would be perfect with orange marmalade.
