Go read Infidel753's excellent analysis on the Singapore Summit.

ex-US Ambassador to North Korea Chris Hill on summit outcome: “Forgettable. joint statement weaker than any previous one since 1992. There is no way forward, no roadmap, no diplomatic strategy.”

Make no mistake about it, the fact is this was a huge propaganda victory for North Korea and Kim Jong Un. And the same folks who are celebrating this degradation of the American flag are the ones who beat up on Colin Kaepernick for kneeling during anthem. Sad.

The Singapore summit statement is essentially aspirational: no definitions of denuclearization, no timelines, no details as to verification. What is most troubling about all this is that the US gave up something tangible, namely, US-RoK military exercises, in exchange.

Claims of achievements from this summit are nonsensical. Trump got nothing except empty promises. Kim Jong Un achieved global standing for his evil regime and got military exercises cancelled. The sycophantic panting and exultations across the GOP and Trump media are delusional

Like Trump himself, the "summit" was a big fat nothing burger. If Obama had met with a murderous thug like KJU, the wingnuts heads would exploded and they would of labeled Obama a Commie lover. tRump meets with a lying murdering Commie dictator, and the wingnuts kiss his fat organge ass.

The meeting turned out to be nothing ore than a photo op for the so-called POTUS. Nothing else.

From our friend on facebook, D.B.:

"364 days ago Otto Warmbier was returned to the US in a coma, dying shortly after 17 months in North Korean captivity. Kim Jong Un has American blood on his hands. President Trump just said it was an honor to meet with him and said he would invite him to the White House. The concessions of no military exercises on the KP was a freaking loss and an utter show of weakness. Are we getting our dead back? Our flag touching that of a dictatorship?"

If President Obama had glad-handed and praised KJU the way President Spanky did, the Trupistas would have stromed D.C. and shed blood in the streets. It's amazing how accommodating the Trumpistas are with murdering dictators when a fake president with an "R" after his name snuggles up to a p.o.s. like KJU.

Never a word about NK's human rights abuses. Nothing much was accomplished beyong legitimizing Kim.

But given our behavior at the border it isn't a surprise that human rights aren't on tRump's mind.
But Kim did play the Great Negotiator.

Anon, If obama met with Kim, which he never did. He chose to give Iran millions in hostage payment and billions to develop a nuc, millions to look good with climate change with no substance. He was far more concerned with looking good to foreign leaders thinking he was a nice guy than representing the interest of the American people.

This is a start and not a finish but the left cannot say hopefully this turns out well. Instead they applaud an actor who yells for Trump to F himself, a former comedian who shows his head cut off and a women who calls his daughter a C. You even have a talking head saying he hopes the US goes into a deep recession so Trump will look bad. Never mind the millions who suffered through the last recession which because of his wealth he wasn't affected.

Remember Reagan and China. The left was all over him because he met with them and now they are a world financial power.

Thanks for the link!

This "summit" is a study in dishonorable contrasts. The contrast between Trump's fawning over Kim and his snotty petulance at other democratic leaders in Montréal. The contrast between a rushed and inept deal giving Kim a huge propaganda victory in exchange for nothing but a restatement of a promise already made, and Obama's verifiable nuclear agreement with Iran, backed by five other major countries, which actually solved the problem until Trump decided to trash it out of spite.

But the Trumpanzees will eat it up and proclaim it a triumph. Like their idol, they don't know anything, don't understand anything, and refuse to learn anything.

Ducky, Reporter: You at that point said that North Korea has more brutally oppressed its people than any regime on Earth. Do you still believe that's the case?

Trump: I believe it's a rough situation over there. It's rough in a lot of places, by the way, not just there.

Yeah. It's rough in a lot of place, like right here in the USofA where we put children as young as 4 in cages. No wonder President Spanky and Kim became such good buds.

skud, Infidel753 explained it very well in his comment: "But the Trumpanzees will eat it up and proclaim it a triumph. Like their idol, they don't know anything, don't understand anything, and refuse to learn anything."

Infidel753, This is the nincompoop, who believes he delivered a great triumph to world peace, speaking to the media after the summit:

Q: What timetable do you envision for denuclearization and ease of any sanctions?

Trump: Scientifically you have to wait certain periods of time...Sanctions will come off when we are sure the nukes are no longer effective

Trump on North Korea’s real estate potential:

“They have great beaches,” Trump said. “You see that whenever they’re exploding their cannons into the ocean. I said, ‘Boy, look at that view. Wouldn’t that make a great condo?'”

His supporters actually think he's sane.

Trump talked about the agreements that were reached at the summit in Singapore today, saying that he believes the North Korean leader "wants to do the right thing".

LOL! What a naive bumpkin. tRump believes a dictator who murdered his family members and starves his own people "wants to do the right thing." What a dotard!

I’m boycotting everything that Robert Di Niro does in Broadway, Hollywood, and his Restaurants. He has been acting like a spoiled idiot overstepping his opinions onto the rest of us. I personally don’t care what they think about anything. And I’m embarrassed to be in the same country as he is in.

I'm embarrassed on many levels that tRump is sitting in the White House playing President.

On the summit, a nice win for Kim as he gained a level of legitimacy on the international stage that he deeply wanted. A one on one meeting with the US President gave him a measure of it. Kim owes tRump.

Actually, I hope positive results are forthcoming. I'm taking a wait and see attitude.

To "Jack the Lame,"

I'm sure Robert De Niro is devastated. LOL!

RN, Ditto.
