General John Kelly: "He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law."

In the Age of Trump...
where hearing the Liar-in-Chief lie daily is like hearing him breathe daily, it is not surprising that President Unindicted Co-Conspirator would choose another liar to sit on the nation's highest court:
"First, he [Kavanaugh] gave misleading answers under oath. Judges — particularly Supreme Court justices — must have, and be seen as having, unimpeachable integrity. The knuckleheaded mistakes of a young person — drinking too much, writing offensive things in a high school yearbook — should not in themselves be bars to high office. But deliberately misleading senators about them during a confirmation process has to be. If Judge Kavanaugh will lie about small things, won’t he lie about big ones as well? Indeed he already has: During the course of his confirmation hearings, he claimed, implausibly, that he was not aware that files he received from a Senate staff member, some labeled 'highly confidential' or 'intel,' had been stolen from Democratic computers.
Even the small lies, of course, aren’t so small in context, since they relate to drinking or sex and thus prop up his choir-boy-who-indulged-now-and-then defense.
Second, confronted with the accusations against him, Judge Kavanaugh made recourse not to reason and methodical process, but to fury and the rawest partisanship. Judges — particularly Supreme Court justices — must strive to be, and be seen as, above politics.
As Judge Kavanaugh said in a 2015 speech, 'to be a good judge and a good umpire, it’s important to have the proper demeanor.' He added: 'To keep our emotions in check. To be calm amidst the storm. On the bench, to put it in the vernacular, don’t be a jerk.'Wise words. He wasn’t able to live by them when it mattered. "
The rest is HERE.

When you have a REPUBLICAN retired Supreme Court justice saying Kavanaugh’s performance should disqualify him, I mean GEEZ!! Yet none of that matters to the Caligula Administration and Congress.
Possumlady
Possumlady, The Trump administration is a rogue, lawless group of thugs and is headed by the biggest crook of them all. It is no wonder that President Unindicted Co-conspirator would choose a lying sleazebag for the SCOTUS.
The NYTimes reported in depth on how Trump is a tax cheat and liar. They got Al Capone on taxes. If the Dems win the House, the first thing they should do is convene a committee and subpoena Trump's taxes.
I wonder who is most crooked, tRump or Capone. I'm laying odds on tRump.
RN, AFAIK, Trump hasn't murdered anyone, but he's doing a great job of murdering our Democratic Republic.
RN, Trump has not been accused of murdering anyone.
Jerry, Trump may not have been accused of murdering anyone, but he is definitely responsible for putting babies and children in internment camps, and we have no way of knowing how many of those children surived that horror.
And so, here we are.
Of course Kavanaugh will be confirmed, but even if he isn't, what's the difference? Anyone else that would be nominated to replace him will be squeaky clean and just as, if not more conservative in their views.
At least his confirmation will keep the Dems motivated.
Who didn't see this coming? Sen Reid eliminated the filibuster for every other judge, so how can anyone slam McConnell for doing the same for Supremes? It is either good policy or it's not. The Dems decided it was, not believing in advance there was a very strong chance the GOP would eliminate it for SCOTUS.
As to Kav, many conservatives hear, in his defense, a man who acknowledged that he did a bunch of bad stuff when he was young. A sort of blanket admission of "sinful" acts. We can argue all day about what those were, but the facts seem to say there is a lot of he said/she said stuff. How can we be sure? If the tables we're turned, and the evidence hard to get at, would we be as indignant? We certainly weren't for Pres Clinton. I get that we should err on the side of caution, but the next nomination would be a distinction without a difference.
Dems, and I dare say many of us, would still complain that right was slamming an extremist down our throats. There really is no one the GOP could nominate we'd like.
The solution? Win the mid terms. And then Chairman Nadler of the House can subpoena the tax returns of Pres Trump, with no reason necessary. It is being widely reported that... "In 2015, Republicans changed the House’s rules to give more committee chairmen unilateral powers to subpoena witnesses and compel document production from Democratic President Barack Obama’s administration." That includes Pres Trump's tax returns.
That should scare the bejeezus out of Trump.
The Dems in the House could also open impeachment hearings on Kavanaugh, call witnesses and move forward. That fact, and the possibility of witnesses, who the FBI excluded, testifying in front of Congress potentially offering evidence of Kav's lying, could give the remaining Senators pause. They'll look like total fools if evidence damaging to Kav comes to pass and they accepted the white washed investigation we just had.
But all of this depends on the Dem base turning out in a mid term and voting... something I am not at all sure of in 2018.
I'll have to agree with my namesake. Bush lied and thousands of innocent people died. Trump hasn't done that yet, but give him a chance to live up to his full potential. I'm sure he has it in him.
BREAKING NEWS! The Republican Party has officially changed its name to the Rapepublican Party.
This is why the Republican Party is disrespected and disliked by intelligent people:
How times have “evolved.” “Democrats believe that we women are weak, mewling, helpless creatures who are defined by our interactions with men,” writes Bonnie Ramthun. “If we are touched, insulted, groped, or otherwise not treated as delicate flowers, we’re supposed to react by making our entire lives revolve about that horrible moment that ruined us forever.”
The person who wrote that garbage believes women and girls are acting like delicate flowers when they complain about uninvited groping, touching, harassment, sexual assault. and attempted rape. This is what the Republican Party has become: A nest of deplorable snakes who would delight in having their daughters, wives, mothers mouths shut by the drunken hand of an overprivileged asshole. That text shows where their allegiance lies, and it's with power and the powerful men who humiliate women.
May they all burn in Hell!
Shaw and Jerry, I fully realize tRump has not murdered anyone (wait, can we know this with ABSOLUTE certainty?) but in EVERY other regard he may be just as corrupt as Capone if not more so.
