General John Kelly: "He said that, in his opinion, Mr. Trump met the definition of a fascist, would govern like a dictator if allowed, and had no understanding of the Constitution or the concept of rule of law."

Dear Red State America,

Your president is:

mad, insane, out of his mind, deranged, demented, not in his right mind, crazed, lunatic, non compos mentis, unhinged, mad as a hatter, mad as a March hare; informalmental, nutty, nutty as a fruitcake, off his rocker, not right in the head, round/around the bend, raving mad, batty, bonkers, cuckoo, loopy, ditzy, loony, bananas, loco, with a screw loose, touched, gaga, not all there, out to lunch, crackers, nutso, out of one's tree, wacko, gonzo; and crazy as a shithouse rat.

That is all.

Trumpism is a disease, and cursing it won’t cure it. It has to be overwhelmed, and that can be done as the left began to do it this month: With diligence, policy-focused messaging, increased engagement and participation, and demand for decency.

There is no easy way out of the Trump era, but there is a way forward, and it is not through hopeless pessimism.

Remember that you can be thoroughly anti-Trump without being completely Trump-obsessed.
