Also, just heard!!!!! The Appeals Court just ruled NO immunity for Donald Trump in the Jan 6 case. Of course he'll appeal but there isn't much there there for him to stand on.

When I saw the title I thought it was referring to joey b's statement Biden tells crowd he recently met with Mitterrand, former French president who died in 1996. Not the first time he has met with someone who died years ago.
Biden and trump are both incompetent to lead the country. Biden now has involved the US in four wars including the border. His whole platform is trump is evil and I will give away billions of your tax dollars because I am told to. Now congress has a opportunity to close the border after 1.8 million cross, what a great deal for us and for our cities, Mayor Adams Said Migrant Influx Will Cost NYC $12 Billion.
Trump is out of control and needs to be stopped.

skud reminds me of the time they were hammering down on Obama for telling one lie - that one could keep their doctor - a true statement when he said it but don't let the facts get in the way of a good zinger, amirite? And here we are, yep Biden made a mistake!!! Or so I get from skud's post where they are seriously clutching their pearls.
When I start to wonder about Biden I remember how he played the House at the State of the Union. The budget was due, the House was all about cutting Social Security in private but in public it was all no, no, nothing to see here. Biden says on live TV - speaking like he does, quiet and pauses in front of words that are troublesome. He's at the part about balancing the budget and mentions hearing that the House wants to cut Social Security. The House boos the idea because Live TV and they are power hungry congress critters. And just like that Social Security was made safe.
House got played. I'll take age and experience over rage and youth any day. Crafty always beats nasty. Read your history.
skud, the Democratic party in good faith met with their Republican counter parts. They worked out a deal that to me is a bandage instead of a cure but that's just me (and a few other folks). From the analysis I've read it basically is a Republican punch card of every item they've asked for at the border.
And this week they said no. Trump said no to Johnson. Johnson said no to his people. Deal fell apart so when you say congress has an opportunity...
As it's been explained to me, in order to have a good faith agreement both parties have to come to the middle. If one does all the work and gets nothing for it then that's not good faith, that's agreement by authoritarian means, which is the opposite of equality.
There are some amazing ideas of what to do with border control and immigration along with recognizable pathways to becoming a citizen. We need these new ideas, especially as the we admit many of our fellow citizens did not come through COVID unscathed. Long COVID is a thing and it sucks just about as much as having Fibro and other immune compromised diseases.
What We The People are doing now will not meet the needs of our future. Heck, it's not meeting the needs of We The People now either. New path ways must be taken while keeping the wisdom of the past. It's a delicate balance. and it's all about love - ya know it.
Grey, I know you wouldn't make a statement that was not true so do you have proof that the republicans wanted to cut SS. I do remember them wanting to change the age requirements but do not remember them wanting to cut it.
The border proposal has some major faults and holes in it that makes it a bad idea. Why not seek a solution instead of a band aid. I know the answer that our elected elite have no incentive to seek a solution and that would take some effort. The country is consumed with trump with 1/3 supporting him and half hating him and the rest are undecided. My belief is if he is the nominee biden wins.
I admire joey b for his ability to meet with and talk to the dead which he has reported several times. He is an embarrassment to the country but you can say that about a lot of politicians.
