The malignant narcissist felon-in-chief removed former President Obama's portrait from a wall in the White House and, like a good little tin-pot tyrant, replaced it with his staged assassination-attempt photo.
Well... in fairness he did put the portrait of Obama up eslewhere in the White House. I do think this is another expression of the vanity and fragility of the president's character.
On another note here on earth 2.0, and admittedly off topic, has anyone followed the story of the fire started by an arson at the Governor's Mansion in Pennsylvania?
It seems the arson was found with a sledgehammer he said he was going to use on the governor if he had found him.
Now granted, I can only remember events and stuff that has happened since late in the Kennedy Admin, but I'm perplexed. Can anyone remember a time when someone has broken into a Governor's Mansion while the family was sleeping, and set it on fire in an admitted attempt to kill the governor and the POTUS remained silent? And did not condemn all political violence?
Anyone? Anyone at all?
In this case, Trump is certainly feckless.
What a weekend.
Tariffs are on, they're off, Apple is spared, no it's not, who knows what's going on. Certainly not Trump and his staff.
Russia bombs Ukraine with cluster bombs as people were going to Palm Sunday celebrations killing 34 men, women and children and injuring more than 100 additional ppl. And our president has nothing to say, no words of warning of warning to Russia.
And then the fire bombing of Gov. Shapiro's residence. And again, Trump is silent because for him to condemn the violence would mean condemning his supporters.
As we worry about events across the globe our own nation is smoldering. The intentional attempts by His Ignorance DJT and the supporting party of giddy delusionists to destroy our democracy and the rule of law continues unfolding on an almost daily basis.
Visits to rightwing sites is enough to make one begin to anticipate the collapse of this nation's governmental and legal framework sooner rather than later. A Fascist prestly sits at the pinnacle of power and he has 45% of the nation behind him with a republican party growing ever more fascist in their support of their Fuhrer.
As the MSM plays footsies with His Ignorantance and rightwing media sings his praises.
Dave i 'Anyone at all[ here'. Regarding historical fire setting, we note- "On August 24, 1814, during the War of 1812, British troops invaded Washington, D.C., and set fire to the White House as retaliation for American actions in Canada. This event marked the only time in U.S. history that the capital was occupied by a foreign military force." Madison was out of town and the British troops were not nearly as savage is the brain dead far right militias. As an aside, I read that De Santis is paying El Salvador $6Million to house 300 deportees (one of which was mistakenly sent there and no it was not Elon Musk, unfortunately.
BB... It's not DeSantis, it's the Trump Admin that is paying El Salvador 6 million bucks to detain illegally transported prisoners in that prison. And the president of El Salvador said today he's not returning the prisoner the Trump Admin admits was wrongly sent to prison.
Dave, I do remember when a SCOTUS was threatened and a sitting congressman and his family were threatened and POTUS said nothing. I also remember when the US borders were invaded and POTUS said nothing.
I can't say I or anyone here understand tariffs and how they work. There is an uproar about the US imposing a higher tariff on India but not a word about India imposing a tariff ten times what we charge them on US goods for a decade. Same for china but we do not want to seem cruel so let them take all the advantage they can. No outrage about citizens left in russia but outrage about non citizens being deported.
There's so much that is inaccurate, wrong, and silly in that post. But I only have time to address the last one: "No outrage about citizens left in russia but outrage about non citizens being deported."
The US citizens were grabbed by Trump's dear friend, Putin, while they were in Russia, and their releases were negotiated and are in the process of being negotiated.
Kilmar Abrego Garcia is no criminal - no criminal charges were EVER brought against him, Trump's own administration admitted putting him in a camp for terrorists was their mistake, Abrego was given no due process, which is against US law.
The comparison between the two cases is inane.
Trump's administration is lawless. How any American can accept this miserable fact is astounding to me. Those Americans who do are either grossly ignorant of our laws, or they are lawless themselves and embrace the idea of our new American Dictator. And may they live to regret it.
Skud... Biden and the Dems have been everywhere saying political violence is ALWAYS wrong. So get a clue. I can give you 100 statements of such from Biden and you'd dig up the one time something bad happened while he was overseas and didn;t get around to it.
But here's the facts... no questions Bidens opposition to political violence.
But I'll 100% say I'm wrong if you give us even one link where Trump said political violence is always wrong. Just one. Come on Skud, can you do it?
Dave, Unlike some I am not all about trump so not I do not have a statement with him denouncing political violence matter of fact he actually supports political violence as long as it is against someone who is against his regime. When you say all the dems you need to look ate the stalwarts of the democrat party like marvelous maxine and botox nan.
Oh Skud... there you have it. But you can't conflate the views of Maxine Watters, an aging Congresswoman fro Los Angeles, to the POTUS. It's a stupid argument. You'd have to show me Pelosi's statement on violence. Maybe it was after GOP members made fun of her husband being beaten with a hammer?
I've said elsewhere many times "Dem Leadership" and here I was speaking specifically of Pres Biden and Dem leadership. I'm guessing everyone else here understood that, but I'll take better care in the future to rule out, or include every possibility for you.
I wouldn't want you to be confused.
I will note that you are either unable, or unwilling to offer up one single time when Pres Trump has said political violence is wrong. Because as you noted, "he actually supports political violence".
That's a breath taking statement. A POTUS actually supports political violence. And you continue to vote for and support congressional candidates who support the guy.
David, So like the dems who started jim crowe they are not dems like marvelous maxine, got it. Where did I ever say I support any political crook because of the party they belong to. You take my opposition to the biden crime family and the incompetent head of the family to mean I am all into republicans. I will admit I do support a few republicans and I support a few democrats but I remain an independent who chooses not to vote for someone because they are a particular party. I am more interested in local elections than national because the candidates are less corrupt.
skud: "You take my opposition to the biden crime family and the incompetent head of the family to mean I am all into republicans."
Other than Hunter Biden, who else in the Biden family has been indicted and found guilty of a felony?
You toss that accusation around quite casually, don't you. But I've never heard you refer to the Trump family as "the Trump crime family."
Did you not know that Trump's daughter, Ivanka, has a convicted felon as her father, and a convicted felon as her father-in-law? What a family!
But the Bidens are a "crime family?" Really, skud, your words belie your claims as an "independent."
Also, I don't recall former President Biden ever "giving the finger" to our Constitution by ignoring the Supreme Court. But perhaps that doesn't bother you as much as former President Obama's saying "you can choose your own doctor." You've never been able to get over that mistake about the ACA.
Deporting a legal migrant, who committed no crime, and sending him off to a foreign prison run by a dictator, WITHOUT DUE PROCESS,( which is guaranteed in our Constitution), elicits nothing close to your indignation over what Obama misspoke about the ACA!C
Can you understand why some of us become agitated with your "whataboutisms?"
Shaw, I mentioned this in another comment but it bears repeating here.
Tuesday I learned there are folks who consider any thought they believe in to be a fact. skud 'believes' the Bidens are a 'crime' family, therefore to them, they are, no evidence needed. I hazard a guess that because they've conflated their beliefs with facts and I for one attack them on their incorrect facts that they believe (incorrectly) that an attack on their facts is an attack on themselves.
Life would be so much better if everyone had at least a few mental health skills, at least that's my opinion.
Ok, as I was reading skuds comment all I could envision was Daffy Duck as Robin Hood proving his fighting bonafides with the resulting staff to the beak. Ho! Ha ha! Guard! Turn! Parry! Dodge! Spin! Ha! Thrust! (insert bill bending up here).
The brief was to find a statement where the FOTUS decried political violence. You have an excuse (you're not all that into Trump except for all the examples proving you are), you parry into whataboutism (not the assignment), and your bill snaps up. Brilliantly done. Master class in avoiding the topic and neglecting the brief. I bet you were just the darling of the teacher at your school with those skills.
It's evident that skud detests all things Biden, but is quite gentle in his admonitions against Trump. He's never referred to the Trumps as "the Trump Crime family, even though Trump himself is a felon, his daughter's father-in-law is a felon, and Trump has felons working in or for his administration.
Beliefs are not necessarily facts, even when people self-delude themselves thinking that is so.
We now have a rogue presidency, giving the middle finger to the law of the land, and people like skud are still chasing after Biden's flaws.
Reminds me of what Alan Watts once said about these types of people: "They point their finger at a problem; but instead of looking at the problem, they're focusing on the finger."
Well Skud, I guess have to take you at your word. You've never mentioned a single Dem priority or candidate you support, or supported, but okay
Once again, and you let me know if I'm incorrect, the people you support for national office, by and large I believe, support the guy you've called an evil, narcissistic, lunatic. A man you've also admitted has never said all political violence is wrong.
Because to do so would be to condemn the very ppl, like you, who don't believe that and support him and vote for the people who enable him.

Happy Feckless Monday.
He's probably planning on replacing Dolly Madison's portrait with life sized glossy of Stormy Daniels.

Not at all surprising.
