The Colorado Sun:
🚨 ICE agents stopped a Colorado family at GUNPOINT, shattered a car window over their newborn, and ignored a mother’s screams:
“There’s a baby in here!”
They didn’t care.
She shielded her infant from flying glass; ICE never showed a warrant, just said: “It’s at the office.”
Colorado law bans ICE arrests outside courthouses.
They did it anyway.
No cause. No explanation. No rights.
Jose Aguilera is still being held in ICE detention.
His wife Maya is still waiting for a warrant.
His baby could’ve been killed.

We aren't human to them. Never have been.
I hope when this is all over there will be accountability. There is a provision in the military oath of service that they are required to refuse an unconstitutional order. Required.
ICE doesn't care. That ICE agent who shoved that woman and was removed because that behavior didn't align with their ethos? Yeah, they were hired back.
We are vermin to them. How do they know? Steve Miller told them so. Trump Jr told them so. One thing is helpful, we know their voices of authority.
ICE agents assaulted and zip-tied American children in Chicago this week:
"Adults and children alike were pulled from their Chicago apartments, crying and screaming, during a large overnight raid that has left tenants and neighbors shaken.
“I’ve been on military bases for a good portion of my life,” said Darrell Ballard, who lives in the building next door. “And the activity I saw – it was an invasion.”
Ballard recalled seeing residents detained outside the building for hours, after seeing a Black Hawk helicopter flying over the five-story building in the city’s South Shore neighborhood and military-sized vehicles and agents filling the parking lot early Tuesday morning.
“ederal agents reporting to Secretary Noem have spent weeks snatching up families, scaring law-abiding residents, violating due process rights, and even detaining U.S. citizens. They fail to focus on violent criminals and instead create panic in our communities,” the governor said.
“It was scary, because I had never had a gun in my face,” Pertissue Fisher, who lives in the building, told CNN affiliate WLS. “They asked my name and my date of birth and asked me, did I have any warrants? And I told them, ‘No, I didn’t.’”
Fisher said she was handcuffed anyway, before being released around 3 a.m. and was told anyone with an outstanding warrant, even if it was unrelated to immigration, would not be released.
Across the country, US-born children have become collateral damage in the Trump administration’s unprecedented crackdown on undocumented immigrants. CNN identified more than 100 US citizen children, from newborns to teenagers, who have been left stranded without parents because of immigration actions this year, according to a review of verified crowdfunding campaigns, public records and interviews with families, friends, immigration attorneys and other advocates.
I hope that someday Dog killer, Kristi Noem, is brought before The Hague for crimes against humanity.
John Pavlovitz:
"We cannot let the myth of American exceptionalism numb us into imagining we are above devolving into inhumanity.
We have every ingredient in place to become something historically monstrous.
It will happen here unless we refuse to allow it."
Colorado meet Krystallnacht.
Shaw... some of those American born children in Chicago, it has been reported, were dragged out of their home without pants, shoes and some even naked, by ICE agents as they were separated from their parents.
Now i'm sure some who comment here will chime in with the typical "illegal immigrant" claptrap prevalent these days from conservatives. They'll note the building was suspected, or known to be a Tren de Aragua location. It was also a hotbed of drug activity. So whatever happened had to be done.
But does that mean you treat everybody as a criminal and sort out the details later? Does it mean there is no longer a presumption of innocence in America?
Why not bring in the Black Hawk helicopters, yes, Black Hawk helicopters, later if needed, use the agents to seal off the building and go apartment by apartment, floor by floor checking IDs and being respectful of people rather than rousting the entire population, children included, of the building?
This is the same attitude US Soldiers and administrations employed at Wounded Knee, My Lai and across the Middle East...
There are no innocents, consider them all guilty and do what you need to do.
Is this what a majority of Americans voted for and/or want from their government?
Mexico has never recovered from their 1968 massacre of protesting students before the Olympics. I fear we may never recover from the excesses of the Trump Admin.
An ICE spokesperson told the Bulletin that the man arrested was Yunior Romero Ventura, 23 “is a criminal illegal alien with a long list of convictions including aggravated assault, assault, DUI, careless driving resulting in injury, and felony menacing with a weapon.”
Another poster boy for the left. I guess please exit the car just didn't work.
ALL OF THIS UNCONSTITUTIONAL and IMMORAL ACTIVITY is on tRump the felon, his Fascist party, and MAGAts supporting the unconstitutional and immoral behavior.
Amerika, I'm sure will " thrive" under his Fuhrership.
Today i applaud the Trump Admin for the reinstatement of Student Loan Forgiveness for ppl who have faithfully paid their loans for 25 years.
I'll wait for Skud to complain about the Trump Admin making him foot the bill, something he said every time the subject came up when speaking of Pres Biden.
Tell us Skud... why do you support a president and a political party that want to make you pay for student loan forgiveness?
Wise words. However, if the forces of inhumanity are strong enough and the number of citizens supporting it are numerous enough, there will be no stopping it...
tRump's inhumanity is being nurtured by his sycophants who truly believe he's a savior. The "man" who admitted he hates over 1/2 of Amerika (formerly America) and wishes them ill (by which he likely means dead).
Even if you support massive deportation operations, under no circumstances should ANYONE be ok with US citizens being forcibly removed from their homes and detained without explanation.
This is a clear violation of their constitutional rights and should universally condemned.
"Another poster boy for the left."
Another bigoted smear from Skud.

Nowhere but in Trump's Amerikka do the brownshirts gas Chicago police officers.

Applaud the action, not the administration of the man who has proven himself unworthy of Applaud time and time again ad infinitum.
One decent action however does NOT undue the immeasurable harm th Felon Fuhrer of Amerika has afflicted upon numerous people in the millions.
Sounds familiar - back in 1209, the Papal Legate who led the crusade against the peaceful Cathars and Albegesnians, Arnaud Almaric, announced "Kill them all, God knows his own" Which greatly pleased the Pope you had instructed him, Innocent III. Innocent -really? Humans can be a disgrace to the animal kingdom. And some "humans" can be a disgrace to their species.
Dube, Calling people a bigot or a racist just doesn't work anymore. Can't you come up with new insults. Even the evangelical missionary has better insults.
Now David, I have a hard time believing anyone would take 25 years to pay off a loan especially since they went to college. If they paid for that long they should be allow to walk into the sunset and be done with it because they wasted their money on college.
I Know it is very easy to give away things that other people worked for. I support legitimate charities which help people who can't support themselves but I am not a fan of rewarding people who just don't want to work and only want what takes no effort. according to dube that makes me a bigot.
Skud,
So now you're saying there's no such thing as a bigot or racist??
As they say, "That's mighty WHITE of you!"
You confirm my position that racism isn't racism to racists.
When you defended Charlie Kirk as "not racist", you told us what YOU are.
And that wasn't the first, or last, time you told us what you are.

Les... it's just interesting to me... for months the MAGA lovers, including Skud, were dismissive at best as Biden tried to do this. It's illegal they claimed. It's bad financial policy. Biden is just trying to buy votes.
Now? Nothing...
Makes me wonder why when a Dem went before the SCOTUS and claimed executive power, he was rebuffed, but when Trump did it, he was rewarded.
What changed in their legal understanding?
And why aren't the MAGA conservatives screaming now that Trump is forgiving student loans?
I'll tell you why... because the policies do not matter one whit. The MAGA movement is not built on policy or ideas. It's built on belonging and sticking it, not to the man, but to the left. Policy be damned. No matter what trump does, they will never leave him.
Because without him, they have nothing.
Well Skud... the entire pyramid of student loans in based on the idea that the student can get a good job immediately after graduation and keep that job for 20 years, the average for loan payoff.
A large majority of student loans increase in the first five years because there are not jobs that pay enough available. So a student makes payments based on income and the principle goes up.
In fact, despite your struggles to believe it, or get educated on it, if the average is 20 years, which it is, that means statistically, there are actually a lot of ppl with loans that stretch upwards of 25 years.
Talk to my son and daughter in law. Both with masters and good jobs. In their mid 40's and are STILL paying off their predatory loans. Wake up to reality skud. Greed is the driving force of lending organizations. Perhaps the most imperative criteria for a nation... education of the young. It's the single most important factor for growth and success. And yet we're looking in the rear view mirror wishing for the days of yore. All the while forgetting how we got to where we are now.
Indeed conservatism is the path to decline and stagnation.
Les... here's what I've learned about Skud... he knows his experience and does not seem to care about those of other people. So what your son and DIL experienced are really of no interest or care to him.
At lease that is how he's expressed himself here over the years.
Dube, anyone with a 5th grade education can figure out what I was saying, tested it with a neighbor in the fifth. I believe you made it past the fifth grade so you know what I meant. During the Obama rein if you didn’t like his policies you were raciest. Didn’t mean much to the middle age but had an effect with teens.
David, I worked my way through so had no debt, little sleep without though. Paying off a student loan in 25 years is nuts. If they are going tg make an effort to pay it back, why Should the taxpayers and why should I it only go to college and not trade school,
Les,
"Indeed conservatism is the path to decline and stagnation."
Right. It is antithetical to progress, individual rights, civil rights, voting rights, and equal justice under law. Con-servatism brought us Trump.
As composer Frank Wilhoit said: "Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect. There is nothing more or else to it, and there never has been, in any place or time.”
And, “Conservatism is the dread fear that somewhere, somehow, someone you think is your inferior is being treated as an equal.”
And, "The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the search for a superior moral justification for selfishness." - John Kenneth Galbraith
Willful Blindness to present day realities of young adults a skud seems to be your thing. Of course it is. Only YOUR experiences are valuable or instructive in your mind skud. And <>that is the root of your ignorance and delusions skud.
LOL I understand everything skud says, even when they are talking in dog whistles and white supremacy code. Doubling down skud is a bad look for you. So, some observations on skuds last attempt to walk the goal posts off the field.
First and foremost calling someone a racist or bigot isn't an insult. It's a label one earns by their actions and/or words. If one is insulted by the label perhaps avoid words or behaviors that earn them that moniker.
Second, while skud gives their predicted mumble about how they paid their way, mumble mumble boot straps, no help ever mumble all on my own, mumble.
So skud cleared and paved all the roads to and from their house, school, and places of business? They cleared the roads when there was snow, built the libraries and schools to educate future employees?
No, they didn't. None of us live in a vacuum, the breath I exhale is in turn breathed in by my neighbor, or my cat, whomever is closest. The point of government is to achieve tasks unmanageable for an individual but easily achievable when tackled by the many.
Third, where are the words for Trump that skud continually wrote when Biden was president? I remember inches of comments on the student loan topic when the president was Biden. Here? skud hasn't even mentioned Trumps name.
Back to the topic, ICE out of control:
ICE isn't going after criminals (civil offenses are not criminal, they are civil), they repeatedly demonstrated they are after people of color. Any potential crimes are discovered after the person is in detention. Hell of a Constitution we have, amirite?
WeThePeople are on the record, Trump supporters too, that what ICE is doing is not OK with them. They may still be racist as all get out but unmarked vehicles, masked goons.... These are the actions they've been warning the rest of us about for decades, only they never thought it would be the Right doing the deed. LOL They aren't quite prepared for the bad guys to be, well, them.
Skud... how old are you? What was the cost of your tuition, per year? I know in California, until 1975, it was free for CA residents. Free. That's when CA was the envy of the education world, before Prop 13 gutted the tax revenues the state used to fund education.
But... it was free. Not too hard to work and study when you're just paying for books and supplies.
Now it's 15K.
At Stanford, in 1974, annual tuition was 6K. Now it is 92K.
We can argue all day why those costs are what they are, and I suspect -FJ will chime in with his reason and he may be right, but for the near future, it is what it is. In CA, even if someone gets a modest UCLA education, he's coming out of college with a 60K loan debt.
In your neck of the woods, LSU tuition is at 36K a year and Tulane 68K a year. That LSU tuition is a whole bunch above the $600 1974 tuition. Even SLCC currently is over 4K a year... for a Jr. College.
What kind of job can someone get, fresh out of high school, to pay those costs while they study?
What is someone who aspires to be a doctor or lawyer supposed to do to get the needed education where those graduate degrees add an additional 50-75K per year of study?
I get what you're saying, not everyone needs to get a four year degree. Many can learn a trade and I do not disagree. But not everyone has the aptitude to do trade work, be a mechanic or the like. Or they simply want to be a doctor and help people.
So they get a loan, which BTW, they can also do for trade schools.
As for why taxpayers should fund it? Because it's good for America. All of America. Just like why should California have funded electricity and phone lines in rural America? Because it's good for America, all of America.
And not all states have the same resources.
The saying, "Not all conservatives are stupid, but most stupid people are conservative," is an often-repeated paraphrase of a statement by the 19th-century philosopher and political economist John Stuart Mill.
John Stuart Mill was not, however, all pure reason and moral elevation. In reply to an attack made upon him by Sir John Pakington for calling the Conservative party “the stupid party,” Mill, admitting the phrase to occur in his Representative Government, went on to say, “I never meant to say that the Conservatives are generally stupid. I meant to say that stupid people are generally Conservative. I believe that is so obviously and universally admitted a principle that I hardly think any gentleman will deny it. Suppose any party, in addition to whatever share it may possess of the ability of the community, has nearly the whole of its stupidity, that party must, by the law of its constitution, be the stupidest party; and I do not see why honorable gentlemen should see that position at all offensive to them, for it ensures their being always an extremely powerful party. I know that I am liable to a retort, and an obvious one enough; and as I do not wish to allow any honorable gentleman the credit of making it, I make it myself. It may be said that if stupidity has a tendency to Conservatism, sciolism, or half-knowledge, has a tendency to Liberalism. Something might be said for that, but it is not at all so clear as the other. There is an uncertainty about sciolists; we cannot count upon them; and therefore they are a less dangerous class. But there is so much dense, solid force in sheer stupidity, that any body of able men with that force pressing behind them may ensure victory in many a struggle, and many a victory the Conservative party has gained through that power”
When greed supplants reason in education the ultimate result will be the gradual disintegration of intellectual pursuits. The result of the increasing inaffordabiity of higher education.
Greed, combined with a desire of conservative elites to restrict knowledge to a chosen group. Discrimination based on ideology and wealth. The conservative dream for their rigidly constructed worldview.
Grey... I echoed some of your comments in my response elsewhere on this blog in this question to -FJ...
-FJ, how does that work in such a connected world? Our water, highway, electrical grid and more are all inter connected? Should there not be a set of common laws, equal enforced in all states?
Should any state be able to legally discriminate against people? As we saw in the south? Or do the feds have a duty to yes, force, certain behaviors on recalcitrant states?
Shouldn't I have the right to have my marriage recognized in all of these United States? As opposed to just the ones that have no problem with interracial marriage?
Or are all efforts of consistency, foolish? And if not all -FJ, how do we decide?
Dave, I think it was about 4k per year but can't remember. Of course the minimum wage $3.25 but I did anything necessary to pay the bills. I also had a wife and two kids so free time was limited. You stated stanford is 92K per year. Harvard is in the same league and both schools have billions of dollars in annuities but the taxpayer is suppose to pay instead of the school. Answer me how is the equitable. Going to college is a choice and should be paid for by the student. Most students come out of college with mediocre job prospects yet you expect everyone to pay for their choices.
Yes you can get a loan for trade school but the politicians and elite don't include their fees in their bail out. Probably because few of the rich politicians would ever allow their kids to go to a trade school.
