Mushrooms. Mmmmmm. But would you eat a Devil's Fingers/Octopus Stinkhorn??
Clathrus archeri (synonyms Lysurus archeri, Anthurus archeri, Pseudocolus archeri), commonly known as Octopus Stinkhorn, is indigenous to Australia and Tasmania and an introduced species in Europe, North America and Asia.
The young fungus erupts from a suberumpent egg by forming into four to seven elongated slender arms initially erect and attached at the top. The arms then unfold to reveal a pinkish-red interior covered with a dark-olive spore-containing gleba. In maturity it smells of putrid flesh. Recently, C. archeri var. alba with white tentacles or arms has been reported from the shola forests in the Western Ghats, Kerala, India. The Octopus Stinkhorn is edible, but its taste is extremely foul.
The eggs of this fungus taste and smell like radish and are the only edible stage. It should only be eaten in a wilderness survival circumstance when no other food is available. In other cases, it is considered inedible.

With Donald Trump’s approval rating at 50 percent, it seems the media is failing in its Democratic mission.
What is interesting about Donald Trump’s approval rating is that it coincides with a poll that finds only 37 percent think the country is going in the right direction. This strongly suggests that there are many who like Trump but believe the country is being negatively influenced by other players. Perhaps that reflects the anti-Trump media and the deep state.
JtFP,
Trump's approval rating is NOT at 50%.
He's still THE MOST UNPOPULAR PRESIDENT IN MODERN AMERICAN HISTORY.
Take your false facts elsewhere.
The subject of this post is mushrooms, and it appears you've been munching on one too many mind-alterning fungi.
Good evening Shaw, the "Just the Facts Please" buy deposited the same malarkey comment at RN USA today. Needless to say it was "inadvertently" deleted.
He's a member of the Stench Trench and "FreeThinke".
It so sad that tRump people need o come to liberal blogs to boast about a 50% approval for tRump. His people know how unpopular he is so they need to broadcast any good news, even if it's not true.
Very cool looking 'shroom! I have some chanterelle hot spots around the farm and there are lobster mushrooms on nearby trails. There are more edibles around, but not that I am 100% sure of.
Jono, you're very wise not to touch a 'shroom unless you are absolutely sure of what it is.
I had some morels growing in my yard, but that was because my yard was part of old apple orchards, and morels tend to grow in that environment. Morels are easy to identify.
We had elderly neighbors who had been mushrooming for all their lives and knew what they were doing. They offered us a bag of wild mushroom from the woods near them, and they were the best thing I've ever eaten!
